I have a question coz I see very little buzz about it: what is the difference with this new edit of LCMM and the original one? I assume it is as new as the new arrengements for her old hits on the TC tour?

 

And what happened to the new I'm Alive remix for France only, not on the album?

I am not sure if this has been mentioned already.

 

But on the Australian 2-disc version (atleast) there is a hidden track. The album version of 'My Love' is on the end of the second disc although it is not listed. Interesting.

"Let Me Be Your Soldier" is listed as the most popular of the available downloads from the album.

 

Oddly, LMBYS and others that one would think would be available as an "Album Only" download are available as individual downloads, whereas BYLM and The Prayer are only available if you purchase the entire collection [in the ultimate essential collection]

Following the first Celine Dion collection, All the Way: A Decade of Song, by roughly a decade, My Love: Ultimate Essential Collection doubles almost everything about the initial collection: it covers two decades instead of one, has two discs, not one, and falls just short of having the double the songs. It's almost an overcompensation for how All the Way concentrated on newer recordings at the expense of hits, but then again Celine has had more hits in the ten years since All the Way, so it makes sense that My Love is a bigger, grander collection. The problem is, apart from her cover of Roy Orbison's "I Drove All Night," almost none of her new-millennium hits are as memorable as her singles from the '90s, so this double CD doesn't offer too much of an enticement for fans to replace 1999's single-disc set. But for those listeners who are looking for an overview of Celine Dion's two decades as an international superstar, My Love fits the bill well as it has all her big adult contemporary hits -- "Where Does My Heart Beat Now," "Beauty and the Beast," "If You Asked Me To," "Because You Loved Me," "It's All Coming Back to Me Now," and "My Heart Will Go On" -- all sequenced chronologically.

they are right though... this collection doesn't add a thing to her discography we would have been better off with a re-release of TC or a Collectors Series Vol. 2. But why should Sony ever listen to the fans, they only want to sqeeze the last drop of milk out of their 90ies Milk Cow

But Dejvej, this is definitely something like the Collector Series. It will sell itself with no promotion just like the Vol.1 did during the year of its release. I think it's a very nice addition to her discography cuzz there are some songs on there that casual listeners don't know about at all.

Interestingly My Love Essential Collection is not the Top 100 albums on Itunes Canada, but "Taking Chances" has re-entered at 99.

true... but something like is not a CSV2 this cd IS ATW+CSV1 +non hits of this decade = $$$$$ in for Sony and Ranai! but ur right, it will sell itself, without promotion and it will establish Céline's image as a 90ies ballad singer once again

But I also want to have the new edit of songs

 

Here in Hong Kong I can get North America edition

On the other hand, I can ask my friend in UK to buy the UK edition for me

 

Anyway, I'm just going to buy one edition

So I'm still considering which edition to buy

I don't think now that her contract is over that she will be releasing any new English album soon. Bless her for that. The charts clearly say nobody wants to hear her singing her guts out in English so she better stops hurting ppl's membranes, Dejvej!

I never thought of it that way, this set does "erase" any of the "edginess" that Celine tried to pull out with TAKING CHANCES. Ugh.
