I have seen people do this with every album release of Celine's. Hits Daily Double is almost always usually spot on. I remember when the projected Taking Chances's numbers people said it would sell more, same with Miracle and now with My Love. It will sell around 50k just as they reported. Miracle sold 100k with almost a full hour of promo on Oprah while My Love was only mentioned like twice (very briefly). There will be no Oprah effect on this album, wait and see. lol

Miracle didn't have a full hour of promo on Oprah. Hits Daily Double did the same with Miracle: at first they said it would sell 50k, then they edited the news claiming they didn't take into consideration the Oprah promotion.

*sigh* Well I'll just sit by and watch people hope for more than 50k as projected and be disappointed when they get the official numbers. Honestly with all of the tons of promotion for Taking Chances, it being released during the Holiday period and only selling 214,000 copies and now this I can't see her next full brand new studio album selling more than 130k opening week.

Well this is P!nk's second biggest opening. Mizzunderstood sold 220k opening week 7 years ago and with the huge hit Get The Party Started. Ergo she was never a big opener. Not only that but Celine is a MUCH bigger name than P!nk, the two are hardly comparable.

God, it's been AGES. I'm not pointing to say Pink's destroyed Celine or anything, I'm saying Celine's sales in general are less than great. And AGAIN you can't compare the two, they are completely different. Also Pink never had huge opening week sales even when she had huge hits so I don't really know what your getting at there. lol

and you cant compare a GH album with a new album(Pink's) then in Usa, ATW is still so huge so maybe people just dont care about this new release.

Gosh! it's just the debut! and then you are talking about Albums which came out few years ago.

Christina has a strong new single and she is young and hot, then that's her first GH, even if you cant believe

for many ATW is her official GH.

 

Plus faith hill new xmas album flopped big time...you dont need to continue...

 

BTW as u can see she did just 1 show to promote this CD for now..so they dont care why we should care 40-50-100 it doesnt change anything

Three MAJOR points to consider guys:

 

 

If the album sells 50K first week, it's not surprising.OR bad.......Look at Sarah McLaughlin's latest "Best of"---it only sold around 35k its first week just a few weeks ago!! And she's very relevant on HOT AC ......PLUS it's her first 'real' best of album, many buyers who already have "All the way..." have the majority of the songs on "Best of" except for maybe 4 or 5 tracks!

 

Secondly, With "Taking Chances", Celine appeared on Oprah on MONDAY so when first day sales came for Tuesday, it was dead on.....Promo for the "essential" (Oprah) aired on Tuesday.....the impact that will have will be Wed-Saturday, so we may yet see a higher return on that promo....I'm still projecting 70k+ opening week.

 

 

Third, it's holiday season.........and album sales will begin to increase starting very very shortly...."Best ofs'' generally see a fairly consistent run over late nov/december.

thatìs right, before oprah's appearance on amazon.com the album was around 40 after oprah around 6.00 / 7.00 PM NY time the album entered top 10! so the 1st one day sale was almost over

Um Faith's was released at the end of 2007, Shania's was released in Nov of 04 and Britney's was released in 2004 also. The only one which was released 7 years (not 8 or 9) ago was Mariah's. LMAO

Well I'm going to hold that figure on those of you who say it will sell 70+ thousand when next week comes around and it sells 50 thousand.

 

Also as a quick point I never said this album wouldn't sell well in the end, I just said it had a less than impressive opening week. (which it did, fact)
