My source at SONY/BMG is telling me that "The Power Of Love" on the US version will be the Radio Edit, clocking in at 4:47 versus the album version which is 5:42.

That is how it works with Sony & Céline. Multiple editions and different releases for the songs that have been released 100 times in dozens of compilations and live albums through her career, but just 1 edition for her new albums, with no promotion at all and any support Welcome to Sony BMG Céline's team

they did the same for ATW as well many versions

 

Yeah but there's one big difference: with All The Way in 1999 we hadn't heard MHWGO 1.000.000 times because it was a song with 1 year of life -same for TPOL though it began to be tiring-, she hadn's sung BYLM and IACBTMN in a show during 5 years each night and we haven't to stand LCMM as "her favourite" to perform live on very important TV events...

 

I mean its a different situation. We are talking about NINE years since All The Way. We shouldn't be talking about a Céline Dion singing MHWGO or BYLM everywhere she goes after almost 10 years, but we have to. Things should have changed in Céline's repertoire, but there's a feeling of stagnation. It looks the same as if we were back in 1999.

 

When Céline came back to music showbusiness in 2002 it looked like a promising return, full of changes and with a "different" Céline with different things to offer. Do you think she has kept that way? I think she has totally abandoned it (unfortunately). Today Céline Dion is more closer to the 1999 Céline than to the 2002 Céline, and that's sad for a singer that could have done 100 different new things since 2002 and show them to the world, but she prefered to stay in the nineteens

Now that the tracklist is confirmed I don't think its bad. Glad to see WDMHBN & ANDHC (album version) isn't bad. I like it

We can hope for so much more but we should know that it isn't likely we'll see it come to pass.

I don't think she has to return she has been still!

She records very good music (D'elles & Taking Chances) the drawback is one and only SONY and if she gets rid off them i think she will do proper promotion...

for me she doesn't need to behave like Madonna or somebody just to show Here I Am See my ...

I prefer her not outstanding position but with right music I adore which doesn't have to be approved by everybody....

One thing is being objective and make critics about this or that, but some post are way out of proportion

 

 

I know she works hard and she has been a hardworker during all her career. But wait, lets specify things. You should limit that statement to the world tour, which is great (and huge). But if we talk about the albums, how many time do you think she spent in recording D'elles or Taking Chances? She just enters the studio and sings the song and she's done. Finished Other singers involves themselves in the postproduction of the music, in every detail of the album process, and this takes A LOT of time. Céline doesn't do that and never did. She has all that work done by others, don't forget that. But don't take this wrong, this is NOT a critic, I just like to say things clear and not to butter her up like someone who likes everything she does without exception This is a critic to her record company, as always.

I respect and admire how she records her songs because we know she likes to repeat the song lines over and over again till its perfect, and she isn't totally happy with it till the song and words sounds like she wants. Thats something not every singer does in the studio. But please don't say that "she has released two albums in 2007" as if it was an inhuman thing because it isn't, not at least for Céline. Better say she's doing a huge world tour and she's trying to please everyone and I'll say yes, definetly

 

And above all, as always, it is not a critic to Céline herself, but to her record company. If Céline takes the time to record 2 albums in one year (which is, again, admirable and something to be thankful for) please, have the record company working hard to give the best of that album and spread the music, but not threw it away to the garbage as Sony BMG music has done with D'elles. And Taking Chances has almost reached the same destination. I still can't understand that she's the best selling female artist of all time and she's having the worst promoted albums and music Either that René and Céline herself allows that to happen.

 

That's all my complain, as I think its the same for many fans

 

Now I'm crossing my fingers and toes so that she changes her record company soon, hopefully

If Celine's release even creeps into the Top10 in BB200, I'd be more than happy (which seems to be a distant reality now). But yes, it totally depends on the promotion. If she focuses more on the album and not talk about being a mommy and what not, it would do this album good The tv appearances are for the album after all and not for her personal life. So Celine, please don't forget to talk something about the album.

I was just thinking- as Queen would have needed to give permission for TSMGO to be included in the Tour, wouldn't be THE MOST AMAZING THING ON EARTH if she recorded it and it was included on their new album- I know this hasn't happened, but how good would that be??? Sorry, grossly off topic.

and I agree with Gonzillio.... Céline was fresh, new when she came back in 2002. But slowly (and mainly because of AND) she went back to the 'old' 90-ies Céline. that has nothing to do with the amounts of albums she released, because frankly, those albums were neglected from day 1, well ok not day 1, but day 10 they already forgot a new album was out. But I don't care if it takes Céline 1 week, 1 year or 1 day to record an album, it's what's next that counts! if the album isn't supported, then it's a bloody shame! This new complilation is just another proove céline is 'a ballad' singer, and untill she get the balls to perform Sorry for love, Naked, Reveal, Contre Nature, You and I, à CauseThis Time etc on stage, then that won't change

And yet when she is doing something slightly different, she seems really into it- I don't think she's done yet though, or resigned herself to 'ballad singer'- she'll surprise us I'm sure one day.

 

but...I still thnk this album will sell well- all the peeps who saw the show will get it for Christmas for gifts. No worries about sales. It's not fair to expect it to compete with new studio albums from artists

There's nothing wrong with them, but like Davey said, Celine is constantly promoted as a "ballad" singer, and that's ultimatly hurting her. What happened to "taking chances"? "The best is yet to come?" With what, a crappy compliation(that was supposed to be filled with "fan favorites and rare gems" but it's really "the singles compliation", as someone put it) and a tour that is basically All The Way mixed with some covers and a few shortened TC songs? The tour isn't bad, but it's certainly not going to make people rethink her image. I, personally, am sick of Celine being marketed as this woman who sings only ballads. With this, people will keep thinking she's only the "My Heart Will Go On Sappy Ballad Lady", when we, as her fans, know that she really is a diverse singer. It really is fustrating to watch this happen to her and know you can't do anything.

 

Again, I think her ballads are wonderful, her 90's stuff is wonderful, and I love her recent ballads like the stuff on D'elles and A World To Believe In from TC, but it's time to move on from the 90's image, and it's time for her and Sony to stop living in the past. How much more can they milk the 90's cash cow? It's time for her to revamp her public image into a diverse singer, go further into the new territories, and for her and Sony to get with the program.
