Something like that would be really nice. They did it with 'D'eux' back in 2009, so why not doing it with another smash album like FIY?

I would love that but, after thinking about it, it's normal that they re-released 'D'eux' with bonus tracks and the bonus DVD; it's actually the biggest-selling French album in history... BUT I'm afraid 'Falling Into You' wasn't as big as 'D'eux' was on the francophone music market back in the day...

"Live In Memphis" on DVD/Blu-Ray should be included with a 25th Anniversary release of "Falling Into You." It would be the most logical time to finally release that concert onto something other than VHS and VCD. I, too, would include all music videos having to do with this album. I would also consider placing Richard Dunn's fan video of "All By Myself" as part of this collection, too. Perhaps in a "Bonus Features" section of the DVD/Blu-Ray.

And don't forget D'eux was a huge succes especially in the French speaking countries, but Falling Into You also sold 32,000,000+ Copies world wide (D'eux sold 10,000,000) Acording to Wiki. So FIY is much bigger than D'eux. Gosh if we could have those sales today she would have had multi platinum for every freaking album.

Phil Spector you mean.

Back in the days (1996) he uttered a statement, or a letter, whatever, promising he would release the stuff one day so everyone could compare the quality to the then released FIY record.

So Sony/Celine's team has no interest at all in releasing the Spector material.

Nonetheless it would be wonderful to hear the material because Spector is regarded as one of the most prestigious producers of the 20th century; and the FIY project would have been his comeback. Reportedly they worked for months on the tracks.

I remember when I first got this album. I already had "Let's Talk About Love" and "The Colour of My Love". I had gone to a two-week summer camp, and when I got back home there was a whole big stack of CD's waiting for me and "Falling Into You" was one of them. Man was I spoiled or what! lol

Does anyone know if the memphis show we've got/seen is the whole show? All the songs and talking sections? Cos if there's anything missing then it would be fab if the entire concert was a bonus. Or release that separate and have the making of as the second disc. But I don't know if any of that was filmed.

The version of the Memphis show they released is horrible. They definitely cut RDMH from the VHS release, and maybe more songs too. But what annoys me the most is that they changed the order of the songs. There are loads of fade ins/outs, you see Celine take off the gold jacket then a few songs later it's back on again!!

 

I would love to see Memphis released properly, the full concert in the right order. I would also love to see LAP and ACDS released in full without the colouring/light effects they added post-production...

Still my favorite album. I got it as a birthday present in april 1996. I would play it all the time, again and again. I would love so much an anniversary edition, no matter what material they could add !

Yes, you're right.

It was aired in France at Christmas time back in 1997, I think and the editing was very different from the VHS release. Celine's voice was dubbed in french for the speaking parts (that was very odd !) and Le Ballet was full, just like in the french part of the tour.

I recorded it at the time but got rid of it when I bought the VHS. I didn't know it was different at the time

If I recall correctly, I think Phil holds the rights to the musical tracks, and Celine holds the rights to her vocal performance, so they'd have to come to an agreement to release the songs. That doesn't seem likely, given that they didn't leave on the best of terms.

I think Celine did record RDMH with Spector, but had to do a re recording after the collaboration with wrong.

Maybe they hadn't fallen out when LAP was released? That would explain why it's on there. As it was included on the tv showing of memphis (before the video came out) it makes me think he was refusing things one at a time and buggering sony etc around. Also I've always thought that was the reason PQTME and co were translated for the album, to help fill it.
