Celine Fan 77 Posted February 12, 2012 at 07:15 PM Posted February 12, 2012 at 07:15 PM I have a very particular story regarding my copy of the album: My aunt gave it to me as a Christmas present in December 2010 if I remember correctly. She bought it when it first came out, in 1996, and told me that she loved it tremendously, but that she knew I was becoming a die-hard fan of Celine, so she gave it to me and I can't tell you how happy that made me!! But the thing is that my copy has a sticker on the cover that says "International Version Includes 2 Bonus Tracks & The Hit Single "FALLING INTO YOU"". I think the bonus tracks are (You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman and Your Light. But what about FIY? I mean, it's available on each and every single edition of the album. I don't understand why they wrote it in the sticker. woodstock Posted February 13, 2012 at 06:27 PM Posted February 13, 2012 at 06:27 PM It's pretty clear that the sticker mentions first the two exclusives tracks and then mentions the single. That's why they put a "&" between theses two things, actually... Quote

Celine Fan 77 Posted February 14, 2012 at 11:31 AM Posted February 14, 2012 at 11:31 AM For Keeps: I was not satisfied with the first recording we made with "Falling into You." This is a song with many nuances, with half-tones. I found the arrangements were too violent, my voice didn't flow enough. Everybody, however, the technicians, the authors, even David and René, seemed satisfied. I said nothing. But René felt that I wasn't happy... He asked me what was wrong. I explained it to him. He seemed surprised. Then I hummed him "Falling into You" describing after every time the arrangements which I was imagining. He quickly agreed with me. He seemed amazed, as if he just discovered something... I called the director and the engineer to explain how I was feeling my song, what kind of changes. They all agreed and were happy, they said it to me... This song marked a step of my emancipation as an artist... I was becoming a mature, grown-up, autonomous artist... So we came back in studio and we recorded "Falling into You" again. It never became a big song for the stage; it is too sweet, too subtle to move a crowd. But it is, in my opinion, one of the thrillest songs on the album Falling into You. And I love the lyrics. I dunno if it's being insecure or just not bothered, but it would do so much for her name and credibility as an artist if she wrote some songs herself... woodstock Posted February 14, 2012 at 09:51 PM Posted February 14, 2012 at 09:51 PM The album version we know is, like "Unison" or "Taking Chances", exactly the same than the original version. You could swear they used the same instrumental track, just adding Céline's voice. I don't get why she says she described the arrangements she imagined for the song before recording a new version, as they are stictly identical as the original song. Unless they tried another version than the one we know? Quote

LukeD Posted April 3, 2013 at 01:34 AM Posted April 3, 2013 at 01:34 AM (edited) I don't like this album I understand why it became so succeful and even why people love it, but I just can't. 1.It's All Coming Back To Me Now - Soft rock, bombastic power ballad, great album opener, but Karaoke of the original version. And that's bad. 2.Because You Loved Me - The most overrated song of her career. Very cheesy. Decent melody, good vocals, superificial lyrics. 3.Falling Into You - Nice, sensual track, sounds like a follow-up to ''Halfway To Heaven'', but Karaoke of the original version. 4.Make You Happy - Cute, but forgettable. Filler, as most of her 90s up-tempo songs. 5.Seduces Me - Amazing song from every standpoint, probably the best one of the album. 6.All By Myself - Nice song and effort but the held F5 is a scream, her most overrated vocal perfomance. Actually, she's done much better than that. 7.Declaration Of Love - Such a cheesy song, filler obviously, it's so bad and superficial it actually becomes funny to listen to. She shouts a lot in this one too. 8.(You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman - A bad souless cover of an already bad song. The sustained note in the end is a marvel though. 9.Dreaming Of You - I quite enjoy this one, but they could have kept it more simple, the arrangements are heavy. 10.I Love You - The intro is similar to the one of DOY, the song never ends and the lyrics are extremely bland. Musically, it has a 50s feel which does well for the album. 11.If That's What It Takes - A shame. 12.I Don't Know - The best song of the album, along with Seduces Me, and without a doubt the best vocal perfomance too. They did a good job with the lyrics. 13.River Deep-Mountain High - Energetic, but Karaoke.Filler. 14.Your Light - Another filler song, pop/rock, but the lyrics are bland and childish. 15.Call The Man - Very nice song, the live perfomances of this one are even better than the studio recording. Amazing lyrics, music and production. 16.Fly - I love how this song is connected with CTM, I think it is on the same level as ''Vole'', they did an awesome job, just like with ''I Don't Know''. For me, ''Let's Talk About Love'', ''These Are Special Times'', ''A New Day Has Come'' and ''The Colour Of My Love'' are much better albums. Edited April 3, 2013 at 01:36 AM by LukeD Quote

Neddo Posted April 3, 2013 at 05:14 PM Posted April 3, 2013 at 05:14 PM 1.It's All Coming Back To Me Now - Best version of this song. All were karaoke covers because song is just complete masterpiece. Fantastic opener, but still overrated song. 8/10 2.Because You Loved Me - Nothing special, just a love song. I like it's structure, production but lyrics are good too. Also overrated. 6/10 3.Falling Into You - Best and most relaxing vocals. Pretty karaokish too but this low notes Marie just blandly sang. Underrated 9/10 4.Make You Happy - I like the beat and lyrics, but nothing special. 8/10 5.Seduces Me - Great ballad and fantastic lyrics, but the strained note is awful. 7/10 6.All By Myself - One of Celine's not karaoke covers. Great lyrics and 2nd half of the song is strained but still amazing. 8/10 7.Declaration Of Love - So self repeating. I can't believe we have ins. overlude of it in LV. 5/10 8.(You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman - I like notes in this song. Lyrics are awful. Simple. 5/10 9.Dreaming Of You - Beauty. So underrated. Lyrics are great, vocals are amazing and arrangment is tearful. 10/10 10.I Love You - Lyrics are cheeeesy. Just like DOY her voice and production are great. 8/10 11.If That's What It Takes - Great but not true translation. More edgy but vocally PQTME kills it 9/10 12.I Don't Know - I didn't like it at first. But it grew on me. Best notes are here. 9/10 13.River Deep-Mountain High - Reveal and Shadow of love are better upbeat numbers by millions. So repeating. 4/10 14.Your Light - Celine's only pop-rock here. Lyrics not special, but structure of the song is big. 8/10 15.Call The Man - Beautiful, underrated, one strained note. Lyrics, melody production are flawless. 10/10 16.Fly - Great translation of Vole and strain is here too. 10/10 17.Sola otra vez - Better vocally than english one. 9/10 18.Power of the dream - Song with truly best lyrics. Great melody and production. 10/10 19.To love you more - Awww, TCOML track. No discussion 10/10 Average is 8/10, But as album it's simply just a random harmony so 6/10 1 Quote http://imageshack.us/a/img138/7804/5tq2.png
Ray Posted April 4, 2013 at 07:02 PM Posted April 4, 2013 at 07:02 PM 1.It's All Coming Back To Me Now - Probably my all time favorite Celine song. I love Jim Steinman when it's not al rock (like Meatloaf). But I love when it goes more the pop route like this or like Making Love Out Of Nothing At All by Air Supply and of course Celine's Is Nothing Sacred. Just LOVE those songs! 10/10 2.Because You Loved Me - Very poetic lyrics. Just what Diane Warren is known for best. Heard it a bit too often though. 8/10 3.Falling Into You - Beautiful song. Like the video. And a nice first hit for this album. 9/10 4.Make You Happy - Okay, but nothing special. 6/10 5.Seduces Me - Very sensual. But not really a favorite of mine. 7/10 6.All By Myself - This is just brilliant. When she did this live at the tour, I was completely blown away, just like everybody else in the audience. Beautiful song. 10/10 7.Declaration Of Love - One of my favorite artists back in the early 90's was Martika. I was thrilled to see MIchael Jay (who wrote a lot of songs for Martika) wrote this song. It has some Martika vibe even. 8/10 8.(You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman - I heard this song way before the album as it was already released as part of the Tapestry Revisited album. I played it a lot in the months before the album was released. A lot of people have sung this song, but Celine's version is my favorite by far. 10/10 9.Dreaming Of You - Nice album track. 7/10 10.I Love You - Nice album track. 7/10 11.If That's What It Takes - I actually like this one. However, not as much as the French version. There is also a Dutch version sung by Gordon. I love that version as well. It's just a great song so it doesn't really matter who sings it or in what language. As the French version is my favorite, I 'll give this English version: 9/10 12.I Don't Know - I have such strong feelings for the French version that this song is not that special in English for me. Especially the musical changes sound to overproduced in my opinion. I love the rawness the French version has, which fits the lyrics better. Still, I'll give it 8/10. 13.River Deep-Mountain High - When I heard this song during the Colour Of My Love Tour, I wasn't too thrilled. I found it too 'rocky' for my taste. But since it became part of this album, I've grown to love this song. A favorite now and therefor 9/10. 14.Your Light - I really loved this one back in the day. A bit different and very catchy. Now I think it's just a nice album track. 7/10 15.Call The Man - I love the 'epic' sound of this song. Somehow it misses something, so I can understand it didn't become as big a hit as the other singles. 8/10 16.Fly - This kind of song is not for me. I can understand why most people love this song. But for me it's too 'small', too vulnerable. And if I have to choose, I prefer the French version. 6/10 Quote Céline Dion Mariah Carey Madonna Lara Fabian Debbie Gibson Wilson Phillips Linda Eder Tina Arena Martika

No discussion 10/10 Average is 8/10, But as album it's simply just a random harmony so 6/10 we dont actually have an instrumentation of DOL anymore in the vegas shows, not sure when it was taken out but it does straight from rolling in the deep to love can move mountains now. ok heres my opinion....... and I still cant get over someone saying all the songs are like kareoke songs lol its got to be the greatest album of all time, its like calling the queen an old lady who wears a gold hat, or the pope as the old bloke who wears a dress, that isnt rau paul lmao 1.It's All Coming Back To Me Now - 10/10 this and think twice got me into celine, this is THE version, pandoras box and meatloaf just dont come close to celine for vocal ability, and the song is pretty much perfection, I suppose people who werent celine fans in 1996 may not have the same fondness for it as the long time fans, but it says something about a song when even years later 17 to be exact It is a song not only do I never skip but it in my most played songs list on my ipod!!! 2.Because You Loved Me - 8/10 used to be a 10 but Ive grown a bit tired of it, sometimes I love it sometimes I skip it, but its still up there with the best celine songs. 3.Falling Into You - 7/10 liked but never loved it, its a beautiful song, and I enjoy listening to it, and it fits perfectly with it, I guess when I was 14 it wasnt a worthy follow up to IACBTM, having been the fan that had only heard TPOL IACBTM and think twice, i was sort of used to power ballad celine, and Ive grown to really like this song over the years, but like as a kid you never like celery as you get older sometimes you grow to love it, sometimes you still hate it, and other people grow to like it a lot but remember when they didnt, this is my falling into celery lol 4.Make You Happy - 6/10 better than misled but If im travelling and using my ipod and only have time for 12 of the songs then this is always in the 3 that will go, the others being declaration of love, and natural woman 5.Seduces Me - 10/10 wont go into detail theres kids here lmao but this is a very make love to kind of song, lol while I cant imagine celine asking to do the thizle all night long lmao (see incredible topic lol) if she sang this to me Id have my shirt off quicker than a new day dancer, and perhaps more lmfao 6.All By Myself - 10/10 not even commenting, on this one, no words, be like trying to describe the sistine chapel to a blind person, you just couldnt do it justice, youd end up just saying "yeah someones painted a roof, its amazing lol" but you cant sum up ABM, still a song I listen to a few times a week 17 years later. 7.Declaration Of Love - 6/10 sometimes fun to listen to, other times as fun as an appointment at the proctologist, not bad if your in that mood lmao but other times just painful...... to listen to i mean lmao 8.(You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman - 6/10 dont mind it but usually skip it, i know it was only a bonus track but I see this and DOL where the album dips slightly, if it were on any other album it would probably get higher but I always felt on FIY it and DOL were low points to a brilliant album 9.Dreaming Of You - 10/10 I might be in the minority but I think this is one of the best songs on the album, it reminds me of an ex, how she used to just leave and Id be left heart broken, everytime I put on music it reminded me of her, but its not told in a sad way its uplifting 10.I Love You - 8/10 love it, again probably in the minority, not single material but I think its such a catchy song, and I love the lyrics. 11.If That's What It Takes - 10/10 I heard this before the french version and it will always be my favourite, i know the french is more emotional but this I understand, and again Ive felt the things shes singing about 12.I Don't Know - 10/10 amazing song, again heard this before I got into her french stuff, then the french version went from a curiosity to amazing, but still this is my definitve version. its such a powerful song, 13.River Deep-Mountain High - 9/10. used to hate it, couldnt stand it, but its the force of that dion woman lmao shes a drug, shes quietly slipped it into every live performance ive ever seen and now it is the song I look forward to most, it gets everyone up dancing, and she nails it. just brilliant 14.Your Light -9/10 always loved this, unusual for her back in the day but her voice is just earth shattering on it, and I love how she sings it 15.Call The Man - 10/10 this is so beautiful, the lyrics the music, the meanings, the imagery, you get swept away in the song 16.Fly - 10/10 used to be less, but I think in the last 6 years Ive lost my aunty who i lived with most of my adult life until she died, and also my dad last year, and its just so touching, before I had never suffered any real loss, and I think to appreciate the beauty of this song it does help because you understand where celine is singing from Quote
