OMG. This is kinda crazy, but I just realized I've been a Celine fan for 20 years now! It can't be. It has to be though, because I remember it was right when BYLM was huge, right before MHWGO burst onto the scene. How time flies. I just cannot believe it. WOW.

 

Next year will be 20 years since MHWGO. That is shocking to me, simply shocking. In a way it feels like a lifetime ago, but 20 years? No. Time is going to fast guys. I remember going to see the Titanic movie with my mom over and over again in the theater.

 

I think we saw the movie 5 or 6 times. That was when I truly fell head over heels for Celine's voice and wanted to know who she was and everything about her from that day forward.

Your light, BAD?!?! I luuuurve it!! It's been one of my favourite Celine tracks since for ever! I love it cos it's not your typical Celine song and I think the corus is very catchy!

I can't stand Your Light either. It wasn't on the American version of FIY, so I didn't hear it for years, but I was sort of horrified when I did. Doesn't seem to go with the rest of FIY at all.

Omggggg I still love "Your Light!!" That breakdown in the middle still gets me going!!! I also adore her version of "Natural Woman." That key change is everything...and that one note "you make me feel so good insIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE..."

One of the best songs on that album is definitely "Your Light". It showcase Celine's versatility, she can can do anything. a.n.y.t.h.i.n.g

Twenty years ago, on April 10th, 1996, Celine had the honour of giving the inaugural performance at the Molson Centre Theatre, which was built to replace the Montreal Forum. Celine’s current manager, Aldo Giampaolo, was Executive Vice-President and General Manager of the Molson Centre at the time. He is credited with the concept of transforming a sports arena into a venue suitable for an intimate concert atmosphere. The first song that Celine sang that evening was ”J’attendais”, from the album ‘D’eux‘. She was forced to pause during the performance because of the standing ovation she received from the audience.

That night would be the 1st of 34 performances Celine has given at the Molson Centre, which eventually became the Bell Centre in September 2002. She will be back this summer to give 10 additional concerts for all her Montreal fans!

Still shocked that they didn't plan a 20th Anniversary Edition of the album.

I am wondering why nothing was done to commemorate the release of FIY. It is such an iconic album! I think by the time of its release it sold almost as much as all her previous releases combined. And my impression is that it is her most critically acclaimed album along with LTAL and LMBTL.
