anyone know what or anything about Celine during the period today till the next concert on may 2nd at Manchester, UK ? a 2 weeks break ???

 

is Celine leaving Malaysia today ? or she left yesterday night itself?

 

Actually i saw a group of guys wearing "Celine Dion World Tour Tshirt" leaving JWMarriot with luagages around 1pm today....not sure were they Celine's crews or just fans.....

Due to logistic reasons we have seen the full scene only in Japan (?). She'll be perfoming at four sides (starting from Manchester, May 2), so she and the dancers needs to practise before continuing the tour. Jamie King will be joining Celine in Manchester...

KUALA LUMPUR: Canadian singing sensation Celine Dion lived up to her top billing right here last night with a power-packed performance in the open.

 

The petite 39-year-old Dion performed 22 songs, almost non-stop, as over 10,000 fans at Stadium Merdeka followed her every move, and tune.

 

The show kicked off at 8.50pm with vignettes of Dion’s many music videos shown on two large screen placed at the sides of the stage.

 

The singer got things going with the fast-paced I Drove All Night, followed by one of her smash hits, Power of Love.

Thrilling concert: Dion performing in front of more than 10,000 fans at Stadium Merdeka last night.

 

Dion then extended her apologies to Malaysians for postponing the show, which had initially been scheduled for April 8, saying that she had fallen ill while performing in Australia.

 

“Thank you for being understanding and for giving me another chance to perform here tonight,” said Dion, as the audience cheered her on.

 

She also said that the rain began to worry her when she arrived here earlier yesterday.

 

“But I was told that it usually rained in the afternoons here, so that was all right,” she quipped.

 

Backed by an ensemble that included four guitarists, a drummer and a pianist, Dion also belted out her other chart-topping hits like Because You Loved Me, All By Myself, Alone and a French number, Pour Que Tu M’Aimes Encore.

 

Also on stage with her were three backing vocalists and eight dancers, who entertained the audience during short intervals.

 

Dion reserved the best for last, when she sang her monster hit My Heart Will Go On, which was the theme song for the movie Titanic.

 

The concert, part of her “Taking Chances World Tour” with Kuala Lumpur being the only South-East Asian venue, ended at 10.30pm.

 

Also present were Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Nur Zahirah, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, and singer Datuk Siti Nurhaliza and her husband Datuk Khalid Mohd Jiwa.

I mean, I know you didn't show her the family portrait but she got crazy about your work, your 'gift' and I knew it would happen! What an amazing story, Krys! You must be in cloud 9 now. They finally got to see your marvelous work. So glad your talent paid off in a big way. I guess it was meant for you to show them the drawings! I knew they would be amazed by it cause I suggested it years back. What did you talk to Celine about? Heh, you're famous in the Angelil family now. Did you ask him if you could be their personal artist.

Celine kept saying "c'est incroyable" to Rene then she asked me if i was the one who did the drawings and no i didnt ask Rene he just asked me if i could make one for Celine

Review Part 2: The Concert

 

so the 6 of us arrived at the stadium a few minutes before 7. we just hanged around there cuz the RM1000 seat holders were not allowed to go in yet. then JessCC asked us to turn around. at first it didnt hit us, then we realised it was Barnev Valsaint. he was walking around carrying his backpack and camera. we asked him if we could take a group photo and he agreed! it was soo cool having a photo with him. he's very nice. at 7pm, me and MalaysiaCeline went into the VVIP section.

we were the first 2 people to sit down in their seats so we decided to take photos of the stage. we got some photos with Celine's dancers doing some last minute rehearsals

this is the view from my seat. me, MalaysiaCeline and JessCC were at the second last row of the VVIP Block 2. not long after i took this pic, Celine's official photographer came looking for me again. he was saying "i've been looking for you for the past 2 hours!". he took me backstage cuz he said Celine wanted my drawing. i explained to him i didnt have it with me cuz i left it in MalaysiaCeline's car (i didnt want to risk getting it wet if it happened to rain). he was telling EVERYBODY i was the one who drew the drawings. i was famous in Celine's camp Rene was inside one of the tents talking on the phone. then the photographer came back and asked if Nick gave me his contact. i told him Rene already did. so after that i went back to my seat

the RM158 and the RM288 areas were doing Mexican waves before the concert. they did it several times before the cameramen noticed what they were doing and showed them on screen. you can see the Petronas Twin Towers in the background. it was beautiful last night. all the lights were on

right so, back to business. Siti Nurhaliza didnt open the show (THANK GOD!). the concert started at bout 9pm. all the lights went dark and the IDAN video came on

 

im gonna just skip to the best parts of the show

 

before Celine sang TC, she gave quite a long talk. you guys can watch it in a video that was posted here earlier but a better version is on the way. TC was just FAB! by the time she got around singing TC, she was practically soaked

 

TYLM: again, pre-recorded like the Vegas shows. but Jean-Sebastian was lookin great last night. he put more style into his playing

 

New Mego's Flamenco: omg, the dancers were just FAB on this song. it was sooo cool

 

ABM: i have no words to describe this performance. it was FANTASTIC! with that high note and all

 

Alone: yeap, she messed up the lyrics "waited" and "wanted" got switched

 

PQTME: its always nice to hear this live. somebody sitting behind me thought Celine was going to sing "Titanic" when she said "no matter where i go, i will always perform one song (in French...)

 

TT: it was a surprise! we didnt expect her to sing this and it was live!!! JessCC caught it on video

 

ML: i lurve this song. with that acapella opening and all that, whoa!

 

We Will Rock You: omg, i thought i'd never heard singing "got mud on your face, you big disgrace, kicking your can all over the place" i was just going nuts when she sang this song. Celine even shouted "come on Kuala Lumpur, sing with me!"

 

The Show Must Go On: damn this sounds soooo good

 

TJTWIM: she was smokin!

 

LCMM: the only song that the audience stood up for. those fellas in the VVIP section didnt even cheered for Celine. seems like only the 3 of us were screaming like hell. i swear, the two in front of me looked sooo bored!

 

RDMH: this song was just fab. she did the twirling thing and i was like "whoa! she learned a new trick!"

 

last but not least MHWGO: she surprised us again by changing into the yellow dress i never thought i'd see her in it. she was just beeeaaaautiful

 

after the show, we hung around cuz everybody was rushing to get out of the stadium. we saw Aaron walking around with his backpack and waved to him. he came walking over to talk to us. he was real nice. we chatted to him for a while and then took a pic with him. he told us the dancers were actually leaving today at 5am and he wasnt going to sleep. he brought us water too! after he left us, the crew started taking down the stage (i passed by the stadium just now and its all gone). Barnev came by again and we chatted too! i saw Michel wandering around (taking a smoke!) and Patrick too. yeh so, we left after that. there was a huge traffic jam outside the stadium (luckily we didnt drive there)
