Thanks so much for the reviews guys! WTG on meeting Celine, I hope that you got pictures of that!

BTW, did anybody notice on the My Love video that Celine messed up on the lyrics in the beginning? The part where she's supposed to say "I know I right where I belong" didn't quite come out that way, lol! It was still another great version and I sure hope she keeps it in for the rest of the tour! :clap: :clap:

I cannot express how welcomed a new version of this song would be. I'd even like it if they lowered the key a lot, just anything but this live track...

Wonderful to hear new songs in concert (My Love) even though the versions vary (hey was that a complaint?! :huh: ) it is great to hear different versions of the songs. Except when performances are always the same (MHWGO,TPOL,IACBTMN,TLYM).

I so would want to have MHWGO as an opening track, just as the millennium concert. Have it as the first track, just to be rid of it, and actually have a proper encore...

Dion wows KL

KUALA LUMPUR: Canadian singing sensation Celine Dion lived up to her top billing right here last night with a power-packed performance in the open.

The petite 39-year-old Dion performed 22 songs, almost non-stop, as over 10,000 fans at Stadium Merdeka followed her every move, and tune.

The show kicked off at 8.50pm with vignettes of Dion’s many music videos shown on two large screen placed at the sides of the stage.

The singer got things going with the fast-paced I Drove All Night, followed by one of her smash hits, Power of Love.

Dion then extended her apologies to Malaysians for postponing the show, which had initially been scheduled for April 8, saying that she had fallen ill while performing in Australia.

“Thank you for being understanding and for giving me another chance to perform here tonight,” said Dion, as the audience cheered her on.

She also said that the rain began to worry her when she arrived here earlier yesterday.

“But I was told that it usually rained in the afternoons here, so that was all right,” she quipped.

Backed by an ensemble that included four guitarists, a drummer and a pianist, Dion also belted out her other chart-topping hits like Because You Loved Me, All By Myself, Alone and a French number, Pour Que Tu M’Aimes Encore.

Also on stage with her were three backing vocalists and eight dancers, who entertained the audience during short intervals.

Dion reserved the best for last, when she sang her monster hit My Heart Will Go On, which was the theme song for the movie Titanic.

The concert, part of her “Taking Chances World Tour” with Kuala Lumpur being the only South-East Asian venue, ended at 10.30pm.

Also present were Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Nur Zahirah, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, and singer Datuk Siti Nurhaliza and her husband Datuk Khalid Mohd Jiwa.

:clap: :clap: The Show is more than perfect......She sounds better , clearer than in the CD.....

Yes Celine was gorgeous, stunning during the press conf..........every single move of her, facial expression can really tell you that...she is not faking anything...but it all from the bottom of her heart...especially Rene......he is the coolest guy that allowed us to take a group pic with Celine......i should said.....the whole Celine entourage were friendly and amzing.....

Review Part 1: The Ritz Carlton Hotel

i left the house early to meet up with MalaysiaCeline at Pavillion. after i was there, i ended meeting with another 4 more Celine fans also from this forum me, MalaysiaCeline, sge, kelvin, Vole and Ranus (sorry gurl if i got your name wrong and i dont think this is your forum nick is it?) met in front of a video store that was playing AND...LILV. all of us were already going nuts at this point. then we walked over to the Ritz Carlton Hotel. we knew Celine was going to have a press conference there yesterday on the 1st floor but we didnt exactly knew where. so we just wandered in and walked up the stairs and pass the empty cafeteria.

that was the notice just round the corner where the press conference rooms were

we walked in and there were a lot of Ritz staff about. they were all talking about Celine! later, Arianna Teoh (concert organizer) came into the area. i saw some SonyBMG staff around there. lots of media people too; we were standing beside Celine's photographer and cameraman. the small group was talking in French. i dunno how long we hung around there before the Ritz staff noticed we werent media. they shooed us off to the side. what a coincidence though. we ended right beside the Meet and Greet room door! they've barricaded the entrance to the area already. so we waited. we saw her bodyguard Nick coming out from the elevator (i think!). so all of us with cameras got ready. a few mins later, Celine walks by! all the fans that were waiting there screamed CELINE!!! she stopped for a few seconds saying "Hi! How are you!" and then she walked into the press conference room. some that were there left. but the 6 of us stayed on.

half an hour later, she comes walking by to go to the Meet and Greet room. all of us shouted "CELINE!!!" again. 2 boys from Ipoh (a city up north a few hours), asked her to sign some stuff. i had my drawing with me and i asked her to sign it as well. its all caught on video [will upload vids soon. i had an agreement with the others cuz we wanted to see the footages first before posting it here]. after Celine went in, we went NUTS! we were sooo happy to actually be so close to Celine. she's soooo beautiful in person :in_love: we knew Celine was going to walk out again but we werent sure which door she'll go out of.

we waited on. at bout 5pm, she walks out and yet again "CELINE!!!". she surprised us by stopping to sign things again. MalaysiaCeline grabbed my drawing and showed it to Celine for her to sign it cuz he was in front. she went nuts over it! she was like "did you do it?" to MalaysiaCeline, he said "oh nonono, she did it" and he pointed to me. i just said "hi!" and waved at her. she was going "oh its incredible, whoa" [dont worry, this was caught on video as well]. i managed to exchange a few words with her when Nick said "hey you, come here, come here". i thought i was in trouble for something. "they need your name and your details". oh boy! was on my mind. then Rene walked over. phew! he asked me bout the drawing and did i drew it and stuff. he was soooo nice. he has this sort of warm aura. anyways, then he kinda shocked me at first by asking "could you make one for Celine?". OMG! Rene Angelil was asking me to make one for Celine!!! i told him i actually did the Angelil Family portrait [those who wants to see the drawings, click the DeviantArt link in my siggy] for them but it didnt arrive at Tati's place in time for Vegas. he then told me to leave my contact at somewhere [dont ask me where cuz im not going to tell you]. then i shook his hand again. i think it was the second or third time lol. after they walked away, the 6 of us were jumping like lil kids in the hotel. we were sooooo happy.

we hung around there then Celine's photographer came looking for me. he asked me if i was the one who did the drawing. i said yea. he then told me he had a pic of Celine holding it and he could give it to me! the others also wanted their group photo with Celine [unfortunately i wasnt in it cuz i was talking to Rene]. we yea, we got the pics from him, thanked him again and again for the photos. then we left for Pavillion again for dinner cuz we were famished

It was definitely concert of the century to me, LOL! Her voice was in top-shape and it was a very energetic performance. The sound system was perfect. I was at the RM288 seat and surprisingly, the stage wasn't as far as I expected! And I could hear her sing so clearly.

My friend and I arrived at around 3pm (yeah, we're crazy) and we started waiting at the Gate entrance. We could see the entire stadium and the stage from where we were standing cuz the gate is fenced, not covered up. And then... the band started to play the song "Pour que tu m'aimes encore"... and ..... Celine started singing! She wasn't on the stage but she was rehearsing to the song for a minute. And she stopped but the band continued playing...

At around 4pm or so, it started to pour like there is no tomorrow, LOL! Thank God, we both had the raincoats with us. The rain was heavy that it kinda flooded the stage cuz I could see people started sweeping off water off the stage. The rain stopped after an hour or so. Fans started to queue up and what we didn't expect was.... Celine came on stage and did her soundcheck and sang a few songs, not entirely, but I would say like half of each. She did "Taking Chances" twice, and some parts of "Alone", "Show Must Go On". I believe there's one more she did but I can't remember now... Anyway, some fans rushed to the gate to catch a glimpse of her singing. She was wearing a Light Purple blouse and a black skirt. It lasted for 30 mins. We were like "Wow, we got to see her perform live for free at the moment, LOL"

As for the entire concert, it was phenomenal. I suck in writing reviews. So I leave it to the rest of you to fill in, haha. I couldn't believe she talked to us (and the King & Queen) for 5 minutes after the song "Power Of Love". I managed to record it with my phone, so I will try to post it up soon unless someone else did it already, lol...

IT WAS A FABULOUS CONCERT!! GREAT JOB, CELINE, FOR GIVING US 105 MINUTES OF MAGICAL MOMENT!!

OMG Kris!!!! I'm so happy for you!!!!! Now, I'm so GLAD that I didn't get the drawing in time for Vegas. It was YOU who should give it to Céline in person!!!! I mean, I know you didn't show her the family portrait but she got crazy about your work, your 'gift' and I knew it would happen! Hey all!

I went to Stadium Merdeka yesterday for the concert and all I can say is... OMG!!!

I didn't wanna leave after the concert!! It was superb :clap: and I couldn't believe she sang most of her famous hits.. Because you Loved me, It's all coming back to me.. The Power of Love... sighs :wub: :wub:

I went there with my cousins and friends.. we spelt out Celine's name using cardboards wrapped in gold and silver paper :shy: hahah.. so each one of us held up one alphabet..

About the King and Queen... I clearly remembered a fraction of the audience booing :evil: when they arrived.. lol :msn-tongue: Well, can't blame them.. the Royalties delayed the concert by 45 minutes!! :evil: It was so obvious that Celine and her team were waiting backstage... cuz right after the King and Queen arrived, the concert started...

I wonder what Celine was thinking.. "Malaysian punctuality... hmmm" :shy:

And Krys... You met Celine??!!! :clap: :clap: :clap: How did you even know she'd be at The Ritz?? (Guess i didn't do my homework :shy: )

According to your review.. lol... Celine was still at The Ritz at 5 o'clock, so... wow.. I guess when she arrived at the Stadium, she hopped on the stage straight away for a little rehearsal.. cuz we saw her rehearsing in a cute purple outfit (I think) at around 5.30 if I'm not mistaken... Anyway, I'm so happy for you!! So lucky.... I should pay more attention lnext time :doh:

Krys, I hope this turns in to something bigger for you. You are very talented and should be able to make a good living with it. I'm so happy for you...that your talent has brought you closer to a person that means so much to you...so much to all of us! Again, we get to live vicariously through one of our fellow members. I hope that more of your dreams continue to come true.

Celine looked so beautiful on that t.v. show; so pretty in diamonds and the short dress. Wow, she's great!!
