well celines second single off the "taking Chances" cd fails to deliver

1)its another cover...of a classic 80's rock ballad...and the original was so good...did we need a cover of it?

2) it fails to take chances ...its not different enough...so its a tired cover...

 

both mariah and madonna have released new songs....with proper videos whether these songs will be considered classics ....mmmm i dont think so but they are enjoyable harmless pop songs..that their respective fans have embraced and more importantly purchased..

 

Celines new sound isnt appealing enough to radio or to the other 20 million people who purchased her cds in the past...and as the best selling female singer in the world she should be holding out for better songs and better promotional support from her record company..she deserves no less than that!!

i love celines voice so i always thrill to hear her but get her better material to work with....release cant fight the feeling...at least there is some life in it!!!

 

all this whinning, so what in the world do you want? I myself wanted Eyes on Me but you sound like if its the end of the world.

Hardly whining john...these are the thoughts of a concerned fan...one opinion ..mine...and please remember that this is a forum for people to express their opinions and people should be able to post here free from any smart replies ....if you only want to read your own opinions....feel free to just post read and go !

I can say so many things and keep fueling this but all I will finish saying is that you have no proof whatsoever that either Madonna or Mariah are going to do better than Celine. Once they outsell Taking Chances then you can come back and try to defend your statement. Plus I don't have to leave, its about time we have different opinions on this site. madonna's new album isnt out yet, and she is making her second video already...

Sony Columbia is to blame completely. And yes, we can comment as we like. I was just responding to the poster telling me to leave. I was just saying that it was unfair to downplay Celine's knew songs due especially when they got barely any promotion and almost no radio play after the first month. That is all Sony's fault.

“This is the best song from Celine in years,” says Jim Ryan, senior VP of AC programming for Clear Channel and WLTW/New York PD. “She is still a core AC artist—one of few—and reaction has been overwhelmingly positive. If I were in Vegas, I’d bet my paycheck on it being a No. 1 AC song, as well as a multi-million selling album. This is truly an event record that will be fully embraced by the masses.”

 

good thing he wasn't in vegas, i suppose... but this man has supported every song she has released. it's a fine sign that he's on board... phew!

yes, "awake" IS the name of josh groban's previous studio CD, but he has a live CD/DVD coming out, featuring that song again, which has now been released to AC radio. the original studio version of the song was only available as a bonus track on the special edition of the disc.

 

Thanks, Chuck for answering my question I have that special edition of Josh's cd and so I was quite surprised that it was added to radio after two years. But now I know the real reason why. Can't wait for the album

Oh appearently Josh's team is able to pull somethiing off which Céline's team couldn't (I Surrender on A New Day... Live In Las Vegas cd and releasing it as a single).
