Next week I'm going to see Madonna live in concert in Amsterdam!!!

 

And guess what? Allthough I still think Hard Candy is Madonna's worst album, there are some songs I've grown to love very much:

- Devil wouldn't recognize you

- Beat goes on

 

I already really liked:

- She's not me

- Miles away

 

Two songs I did like, but start to get a little bit boring:

- Give it 2 me

- Heartbeat

 

Well, six out of 12 I like, really like, or love. Not too bad.

 

But my favorite Madonna albums are:

finally the Candy Box edition of Hard Candy is out here in the Philippines. it's 3x the price of the regular cd, and the box looks great. i wonder how it really looks inside (the cd, book, photos, etc...). i think Alex or Gab can answer me. i want to buy it but i want to see it if its worth my money.

hmm I saw it and it has candy in it! I dunno about pictures, but I thought it was really cheap looking in comparison with the price you had to pay!

We were going to go Paris, but after Cardiffs I don't think we'll bother. I feel quite low actually as I was really looking froward to it.

 

Borderline was more or less like Material Girl from Re-invention. The guitar needed shoving somewhere. I was not alone feeling this the pocket of people I was stood with were egtting sick of the guitar playing. Into The Grove was more or less the same as LAV from Confessions. The pole dancing was used to the same effect the only thing that kept it different was we didn't have any horses this time.

 

There was just too many things that were the same as other concerts....Fever , Homecoming, Taking Chances tour, Spice Girls.

 

The vocals were not good (OK this could be down to the venue) I honestly couldn't tell what was mimed or sung live. The music overpowered the vocals a lot of the way through, add to that the backing tracks seemed to overtake everything. The best vocal was for You Must Love Me. Devil was very good, but just a carbon copy of Alone from Celines tour. The stage was used exactly the same, and the projections were VERY similer. Absouloutly NO interaction with the crowd. I've been to many Madonna shows and there never is much, but did Cardiff even get a Hello/Goodnight? Did they ****! I didn't even feel any connection from Madonna. Made me wonder if she knew it was opening night and not a dress rehearsal.

 

My biggest complaint was that the routines/projections/versons of the songs were straight from either The Confessions Tour and the HC promo tour she did. There was nothing new. Even the finale song (GI2M) had the same routine as Hung Up did from Confessions. And why Hung Up was given a rock makeover is beyond me!

 

It's really wierd because it wasn't actually a bad concert. But Madonna can and has done better.

 

There were good moments, LAP was really good. It was great to finally hear Borderline live. Plus the setlist wasn't bad. Ok Spanish Lesson needed to be shoved with the guitar but apart from that it was an OK setlist.

I totally think this tour is nothing creative too. Even the outfits are old. The underwears are getting so old. How many tours had she used them? Seems Jamie King is not creative anymore too.

Unfortunately I have heard more stories like this. Sorry to hear it didnt live up to your expectation.

I would be gutted just the same.

If you admire an artist you always look forward seeing them perform live and you expect to see something different than before.

Has she run out of creativity ? Maybe.

Maybe she has had her best days and she should retire ? Maybe

All I can say is that she needs to change things cause the fans are not gonna accept this. Very disappointing.

I've heard mostly good things----but I do think Jamie King tours have run their course and I think that not many people will be working with him in the future.

 

I can't wait to see Madonna in Paris. She puts on a good show, she always has.

 

Celine fans can't cast too many stones-----at least Madonna always mixes up her new tracks and breathes new life into her old songs. Celine thought they would, but didn't quite make it there.

 

Oh well! Celine this weekend, couldn't be more excited---and Madonna next month. 2 of my faves.

my b-friend is going, I thought it was too much money.... well I wanted to spend it rather on Céline again, then on Madonna!

 

I don't think my b-friend will be disappointed, cos he never saw her, but my friend who's going too, saw the Confessions tour, so I am wondering what he will think.

 

But I do think she sucks big time for not interacting with the crowd! Who died and made her queen?

I've seen her many times and it's always been a fantastic show. Maybe that was the problem, a lot to live up too? My mate is a HUGE Madonna fan, and he wasn't that impressed.

 

I don't think it's a case of she's too old, just not enough new ideas in a show that is supporting a rather weak album

''Ray Of Light'' is her best and the only album of hers that I like. Now this is real music. IMO it's the album of her career. I doubt she'll repeat such a good album musically.

I saw her last year and was quite disappointed. She didnt interact with the crowd at all. She came across as a cold personality.

It was my first and my last time seeing her in concert.
