Although Mariah is my #1 artist and I find Barbra a bore, thumbs up for Miss Streisand for having a #1 album in every decade of the last 50 years!!! I'll also take a bow for using REAL instruments. Something Mariah can learn from. Mariah writes brilliant lyrics, comes up with amazing melodies, but forgets to bring musicians (or orchestra) into the studio...

Carrie Underwood's Play On, Taylor Swift's re-release of Fearless, Michael Jackson's This Is It, Alicia Keys' new album (forgot the title) to name a few.

Mariah to Release Memoirs Remix Album

Trey Songz reveals he recorded a remix to "Inseparable" last month

 

Fans who picked up Mariah Carey's latest Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel most likely noticed the absence of features, but the singer is about to make up for it. Tricky Stewart and Trey Songz spill details exclusively to Rap-Up.com on Carey's top-secret remix album.

 

Details are slowly emerging about the project, which will include remixes to every song on Memoirs. "There's gonna be remixes to everything," says Tricky. "I'm actually doing some remixing myself currently 'cause some of these records were so much fun to make. It's easy to go in and do a remix."

 

The mega-producer already has something in mind for the diva's Foreigner cover. "I'm gonna do a remix to 'I Want to Know What Love Is' myself. I'mma raise the tempo up. I'mma try to make it into something else."

 

He may even add a guest to it. "Once I get the beat and if it calls for the right person, I can get anybody on the phone I want to right now, so I will be using my Rolodex for that."

 

One of the featured artists on the new project will be Trey Songz, who exclusively discloses to Rap-Up.com that he recorded a remix to one of Memoirs' cuts last month. "Mariah Carey, I believe she's doing a remix album and I'm on a record entitled 'Inseparable,'" he shares.

 

Trey put everything aside once he got the call. "I actually only had a day to do it. I did it on my day off. [They were] very professional, very adamant on wanting to get it done. They made sure we had all we needed. I just went in and got it done."

Yeah, obviously.. btw Madonna's Hard Candy only reached the Gold status in the USA but at least her album was very successful on the European continent and sold 3.5 millions worldwide (Just like Celine's Taking Chances! ).

lol What's going on with the album? Even The Essential Recycled Collection of Celion managed 1.5M copies.

 

I think they should abandon IWTKWLI now and just move on to HATE U or Up Out My Face or Betcha.

OMG !

 

It turns out that there was a mistake on iTunes with these 22 000 that Betcha Gon Know sold ! These are album sales not sales for the song ! Betcha Gon' Know didn't even make the iTunes Top 500... HATEU and Angels Cry were between #100 and #200 all week and they only sold like 5000. IWTKWLI which was between #35 and #40 sold 22 000 and yet Betcha Gon' Know sold the same and didn't even enter the iTunes Top 500. And it turns out that since Betcha is Track 1 some of the album sales were counted as Betcha Gon' Know's.... Damn this is such a mess. +22k means a #1 album for Mariah! That's not fair :glare: :glare:

 

Fans already e-mailed Gina (she's works for Mariah) and she replied that IDJ are aware of the problem.

 

 

Hopefully they'll do something.

i highly doubt lambs can do something about the rankings of the album right now. Babs won the battle. they have to deal with it already. if they want to add that 22,000 to the album sales, sure, but they can do that in the following weeks or so.

 

if they want to steal the top spot from Barbra, that would be sooooo unfair as well. it was not Babs' fault after all.

I heard the lambs making noise are those from FOMM which is like her most fanatical site. Each application for membership is screened for weeks or even months cuz you have to prove that you truly, madly, deeply luuurve Mariah. :lol:

I didnt say lambs are dumb! but they always make excuses. This album is such a big flop world wide with or without 22k more in USA! It has sold 202k WW so it means 34k in the rest of the world!

If people have downloaded 22 000 copies of Betcha Gonna Know it would have been in the iTunes Top 50 at some point and it didn't even make the Top 500 as I already said. I Wanna Know What Love Is which was at #37 for a few days sold 22 000 as well.
