Nikosn17 Posted June 18, 2008 at 11:47 AM Posted June 18, 2008 at 11:47 AM (edited) OMG I am listening to some performances from these 40 CB tour concerts I found and I'm I always knew she was amazing vocally during that tour but some some of the concerts I haven't heard before are just I even dare to say that I like her CB tour voice more than her Daydream tour voice cause it's more strong and powerful than the airy, girly Daydream voice. I should make a compilation from the best moments from CB tour. The peak of her vocals was during the european leg and the dates in 2004. The whole tour is amazing but these are the best concerts imo.Especially her older songs like: Vision Of Love, Make It Happen, Hero, I'll Be There are always the best performances. And the Band Intro of course. I even found the ''One Sweet Day performance from this tour, she performed it only once during CB tour and it's also great. Black Kitten Posted June 18, 2008 at 11:51 AM Posted June 18, 2008 at 11:51 AM no way nikos, lol daydream era is mariah at her top shape! just compare the last chorus of Dreamlover. she can't hit the high notes towards the end of the song, while during Daydream, she can blow anything. take Hero for example. Nikosn17 Posted June 18, 2008 at 12:00 PM Posted June 18, 2008 at 12:00 PM (edited) no way nikos, lol daydream era is mariah at her top shape! just compare the last chorus of Dreamlover. she can't hit the high notes towards the end of the song, while during Daydream, she can blow anything. take Hero for example. If you have asked me yesterday I would have answered the same... but now... no. Ok let's say they are equal to me cause both of the tours have good and bad things. She had higher belting range during Daydream, but weak whistle notes... whereas she lips a few lines during CB tour. There are amazing Hero performances during CB tour. We have discussed this , you said that you didn't like the Hero performance in the concert you have been to but I just heard some amazing performances. And lmao at one Band Intro I'm currently listening to. Someone from the audience screams ''I love you Mariah'' then she sings ''And I love you too'' and then the man screams ''sing emotions'' or something of that nature and she starts ''you've got me feeling emotions'' and then starts hitting some random high notes or another one: A man is screaming from the audience ''MARIAAAAAAAAAH'' and then with a nice soft whispery voice she sings ''that's my name'' Another of my favorites is a whistle notes she is doing during an ''I'll Be There'' performance. This is the only ''I'll Be There'' performance with a whistle note that I have heard and it just fits the song perfectly. There are many many other great moments. These are just some of my favorites. Black Kitten Posted June 18, 2008 at 01:47 PM Posted June 18, 2008 at 01:47 PM it's just that, the stronger her chest voice gets, the weaker her whistle register become, and vice versa. i don't normally care about her whistle, i can listen to her without it, but her chest voice is absolutely beautiful, which unfortunately suffered through the years. i agree that "The Voice" came back strong during CB, but based on my experience during her concert here, she struggled a lot in Hero. (ok i know im too repetitive), and her high notes during Dreamlover sounds really dry. it's frustrating that she didn't do a band introduction here, but i really loved Vision of Love and Always be My Baby. out of any Mariah eras, Daydream is just my favorite. she's absolutely flawless during that era. anyways, last night, QTV aired Ricky Lo's interview with her. it was a boring interview (what can i expect from Mr. Lo? who i always believe is the king of disastrous interviews!lol). but Mimi looked so sexy and im so crazy about her shades! she really has a great taste. corr_azy Posted June 18, 2008 at 01:52 PM Posted June 18, 2008 at 01:52 PM I think we'll just have to wait to see how well Mariah's concerts do. I think she came back strong during the CB tour in terms of vocal ability. But her belting was definitely better during the Daydream era, although her voice got a little too nasally for my liking. For me, her vocal peak was definitely in 1994. Quote
Prince Whiskers Posted June 18, 2008 at 02:02 PM Posted June 18, 2008 at 02:02 PM anyways, last night, QTV aired Ricky Lo's interview with her. it was a boring interview (what can i expect from Mr. Lo? who i always believe is the king of disastrous interviews!lol). I agree, Ricky is better read than heard. I bet Manila will be part of Mariah's next tour. She has tremendous fanbase here. Celine is a puzzle though. She topped a 2008 survey asking w/c foreign acts Manila would most like to see. And MHWGO is considered here by music columnists as the greatest love song to have come out after World War 2. According to BET, "Since it's a live show, there are always lots of last minute changes and updates." We'll let you know if we hear differently. Mariah is, however, expected to attend the awards proceedings. Mariah's "Touch My Body" video is nominated for one of the Pre-Awards awards – the "LOL (Best Comedic Video)" award. This is another one that's based entirely on online votes. Click here to vote for Mariah as many times as you can! Be sure to also keep on voting for Mariah to win the My Black is Beautiful's "Beautiful Healthy Smile" award. The 2008 BET Awards will air live from the Shrine Auditorium on Tuesday, June 24th, 8pm ET on BET. Meanwhile, the BET J special "Timeless" featuring Mariah Carey did not air as scheduled last week. It seems that there are some clearance issues holding things up, so it'll be at least a couple of weeks before the show airs. As soon as we know of a definite air date, we'll let you know.Source: Kristina from BET.com | MariahDailyJournal yeah cool I'm wondering if it could get any better Quote

Nikosn17 Posted June 19, 2008 at 06:48 PM Posted June 19, 2008 at 06:48 PM (edited) I think we are focusing too much on commercial stuff. Yes of course I want her to be as succesful as possible but music is the most important... since she did one of her Top 3 albums (musically) (after Butterfly and Mariah Carey and this is not only my opinion but like 80% of the fans) than she did her work good. For me what matters the most is if I like it or not. As long as I like it I'm happy. And now since she doesn't care about her album anymore why should fans support it? I'm grateful for the great music we got and that's it. Great album, awful era. NEXT! Edited June 19, 2008 at 06:49 PM by Nikosn17 Quote
