Darren, I have nothing against you, but you know nothing about the dvd .... that's the trueth

and i have nothing against you but if you don't about someone then didn't your mother tell you not to say anything if you have nothing nice to say. just saying.........

Just read that Neil Diamond (singer) is releasing a DVD of his Tour. I'm just guessing that Mr. Diamond's Tour was not as lengthy as Ms. Dion's nor encompassing as many countries. It seems by what the article states it looks as if it took a year to release his DVD tour.

I just wish the producers of Ms. Dion's Tour DVD would have told us the "worst case date" and then surprised us by reporting that the DVD will be released sooner then expected.

It kind of makes sense for them to push the release of the DVD closer to a possible premiere in Vegas (the idea for that is still in the air right?). The dvd could cause a lot of commotion around Céline, and her new show would be promoted at the same time..

Anyhow, let's all just wait - we all know anticipating the new DVD is a much better feeling than having it in your hands and knowing nothing new is coming out anytime soon.

I'm sorry! I'd rather have the DVD in my hands and know nothing new is coming out anytime soon. My reasoning: I'll be way too busy watching the DVD over and over and over and over again! :clap:

What an absolute farce. Sony are ALWAYS so slow and just not with it when it comes to releasing new Celine items. This screams out memories of the "All The Way" DVD. Remember how many times that was delayed?? Ridiculous.

So we wont get the DVD til 2010. Great. I bet we'll get 14 different variations of the "versatile water bottle" between now and then though eh Sony???!!

They always wanted to annoy non-French speaking fans. They didn't release "Live In Memphis" in 1997, but in late 1998 and mid 1999 when LTAL Tour was the current tour. They never released a LTAL tour DVD with the international set list, they kept postponing the ATW video release, AND was delayed 3 years, there is no DVD collection of all her videos to match her latest greatest hits compilation...

However, they did release "Au Coeur du Stade" CD and DVD two months after the concerts, they released a DVD to match "On ne change pas" a month later than the CD compilation, they released "Sur les Plaines" 3 months after the concert...

I mean, if they are so quick when it comes to French releases, why can't they do the same for the English releases?

If at least they changed the playbacks they used on other DVDs/CDs, it would be worth waiting... but they won't!

i agree that if it's really pushed it'll advertise a new show. but i hope not!

To be honest, the new show will not need any advert like this (in dvd) it'll advertise itself like A New Day so they could release it this year...

but if they want to promote a show with the dvd that means that there will be no album along a new show which also means that the show won't have any new songs

Exactly! I'd love to see a new CD with new songs rather than have the TC:WT DVD advertising the show and have no new songs.

Noticed today on the internet a few stories regarding the release of the photo book next month and also statements that the Tour DVD will be released this year.....this article stating DVD to be released during the Holiday Season. (Article is in French....I hope my translator didn't give me the wrong info)

To be frank, that was my first thought, that perhaps they wanted to do something with the playback songs that were also on AND...LiLV but who knows?

I will be upset a bit now, and if they postpone in a year and a half I will be upset as well, but when I have it in hand I will be all a flutter and that anger will have gone.

This autumn will include the new releases from Whitney Houston, Barbra Streisand, Mariah Carey and even Michael Jackson - the biggest selling and award-winning names in music history (along with Celine of course).

All of these releases will be, and are already, accompanied by proper promotion blitzes through all media venues: Youtube, TV, print and radio. The market place will therefore be rather crowded for quite a while. The release of the tour-DVD now, without promotion or participation of the singer herself, would be lost in this jungle.

Release during the spring of 2009 would of course have been preferred, but I guess they missed that window.

I don't know if that's really it. I mean, yeah, alot of stuff is being released by other artists around the time of the original release date, however, it would have been the holiday season and everything would have been up for grabs. And I know that while other artists are releasing a CD or in the case of MJ, a movie and a few other things, I don't think Celine's DVD would have been lost in a jungle. Look at how many people she got to perform for on her world tour. Take that number and think of how many of them want to be able to relive the experience of the TC:WT! I think in all reality, no matter when the DVD would have been released, it would have done well no matter what. Celine has an awesome fan base and we'd more than help get the word out! Just my two cents.

I just finished watching his special on Tv tonight and I got to say, I was hard as hell to watch because it reminded me of celine concert in MSG. I just want to cry, cause WE DON'T HAVE concert yet. AND DAMT I WANT CELINE DVD SOO DAM BAD. I sure hope that Rene and Celine saw it, HINT, HINT,,

It's been almost 2 months that I've come here (it's only because I didn't have the opportunity ^_^

), and wow what a disappointment to read the news about the DVD.

Although deep down I KNEW it!! The same is going to happen with this DVD than with the Las Vegas one, I bet we'll have to wait until 2012 to actually get the DVD in our hands. :rolleyes:

or they are going through all the material shot in all the concerts and add a lot of extra's ! But unfortunately I don't think that is going to happen at all. I hope they don't fix and make the sound too perfect as if it is not live anymore. The my love version we all know, from the video, is so clean; I prefer her Amsterdam version which sounded far better!

Well, i don't mind waiting for the dvd - as long as they DO ACTUALLY RELEASE IT!! And not do another AND or Millennium and advertise it etc but never release it. :nono:

It's ok ... it just means that we will appreciate it that much more when it comes and gives people more time to save up for it!

It sucks that it's not around at least Christmas time, but that's the way it is hehe!

Let's hope this dvd will be packed with special features and backstage material - THAT will be worth the wait in itself!

Sony always released the French DVDs right after an album or event (Live a Paris, Au Coueur du Stade, One Ne Change Pas, Sur les Plaines) but the English DVDs were always released much later when the next English album was coming.

They released The Colur of My love DVD in 1995/96 (depends on country), Live in Memphis in 1998/99 or All the Way...a Decade of Song DVD in 2001/02.

So if they wanted to release the Taking Chances Tour DVD in 2010, I think they waited for Celine's next album (with her promoting it and by the way promoting the DVD).

But now it's impossible for her to release next English album in 2010. They should release the Taking Chances Tour DVD in November 2009 as they first planned (just for Christmas shopping).

I know that the A New Day...Live in Las Vegas DVD is still selling good in the U.S. and the Netherlands but it's off the charts in other countries. Come on Sony!

i'm ok with the 2010 release date. if sony's gonna make us wait that long, then they better release a helluva world tour package (i.e. full 1080p blu-ray, behind the stage footage, etc.) well, here's to hoping . . .

I don't want an overdubbed Mariah DVD. Just have her re-record them for the next tour (or in some cases sing them LIVE.....some of those songs are lipped for no damn reason!! MHWGO, IACBTMN....NOT HARD.)

And I don't think Sony would really go through the effort to have her re-record them so people don't identify the similarities between this and the AND DVD. They would be more likely to just take the easy way out and scrap the whole project for a DVD.
