Taking Chances World Tour DVD Pre-Release Thread Part 1

yes it takes way too long in my opinion! But, Madonna, who I expected to release her dvd at christmas 2009, will also release the sticky & sweet tour in may, so you never know what they do..

Someone said somewhere (in a different topic I guess) that he/she was bugged they didn't release a single to go along the tour. And I just got the feeling that it would be quite swell to have a track symbolising this documentery, and I could see that no track was more perfect for that than I've Got The Music In Me.

 

Seriously that track could be such a perfect theme for this movie. (I know some may argue that TSMGO would do it better for reasons of her being ill at some point, but I stil vote for I've Got The Music In Me).

 

Single is not nessesary, and very unlikely. But wouldn't it be nice still to have some sort of single along the movie/concert? And I've Got The Music In Me would be too perfect. I know it wasn't sung during most parts of the tour and not dureing the two recorded locations, but still, they could easily just put it as a bonus track on the cd...

They've cut out The Power of Love!!

 

Why do they still have to cut songs out - this DVD is like Live in Memphis and Au Coeur du Stade now!

I think the person who wrote this article unintentionally omitted TPOL from the list. This larep.com website doesn't seem a reliable source anyway.

 

Let's wait and see.

I'm sure we will have the performances of Fade Away and Shadow Of Love on the Boston DVD though.

The CD track listing is a mixed bag. The first part is awesome, the last selections are poorly planned. Where's "My Love" which was MORE OR LESS a single from the tour!? Where's "The Show Must Go On"?! The Soul Medley is a poor choice. Yuck!

I'm sure we will have the performances of Fade Away and Shadow Of Love on the Boston DVD though.

I've forgotten that she performed SOL on August 15 but she didn't perform this song during the other Montreal concerts and if I remember well the DVD was filmed on August 31 and September 1.

I personally found the live versions of "Shadow Of Love" and "Fade Away" to be forgettable. They lacked the power and the energy the album tracks contain. If the instrumentation had been rearranged I believe these two songs could have been the uptempo highlights of the tour. :sigh:

well it doesn't really matter to me cause if those songs are not in the French version of the dvd it will definatly in English one

but i do hope they will include TPOL and those 3 song medley IACBTMN / BYLM / TLYM in the cd

IMO all the LCMM performances since ATW Special and ACDS Dvd have been mediocre.

 

Vegas premiere, Live 8, DVD, Today Show 2003....bleh! At least there was improvement on the tour (I think?).

Shadow of Love was performed the 1st night in Montreal

and The Power of Love was sometimes cut out of the show some nights in Montreal..

Don't rely on this tracklist. I think it's very unlikely to have the intros to the tracks (like the new mego flamenco) as separate tracks. IMHO this list has been just put together without really having a clue, so don't put a lot of trust in it.

Sony Pictures Entertainment reportedly plans to release a DVD and Blu-ray version on April 26,2010, while corporate sibling Sony Music Entertainment is planning a separate CD and DVD release of the actual concert, which was recorded in Boston in mid-August 2008. A French concert, recorded in Montreal two weeks later, is also due to be released at the same time.[15][16][17]

 

The DVD version of Celine: Through the Eyes of the World will last 3 hours.[3][18] The documentary is scheduled to be included as a bonus feature in the upcoming tour DVD.

 

So... Through the eyes of the world will be released on Blu Ray

 

But the concerts arent Damn... I hate watching DVD's...

They always fail to bring uptempo songs live. They don't work well with her band. They should have left the instrumental of the original album version in the background at least

 

And I can't stand why she has to end every high note song with a loud "HEEEEYY" or an "AAAAHHHHHH" or a "YYYESSSS" since she was in Las Vegas, I hate that

lol me to, but I would like to see and hear them in good quality, who knows maybe they cleaned them up a little bit

 

But guys what's all the complaining about, we dont even know this tracklist is official, and other then that, it's the french one.

If they decide to have the same songs from both shows on each dvd and cd, then it's no good either because then people could maybe hear the playback songs.

Now they decide to not to have the same songs, and it's no good either.

They decide to release and dvd/cd of both concerts, it's not good because we dont want a cd etc etc etc

 

Maybe in the end they will only release an english version of all this, because of all the complaining that we already have so many songs ;-)

That cd tracklist looks actually quite nice. Wonderful to have ESINERQU on there! But JIOTI, haven't that song has been overexposed already? What's the deal about it anyway? I think it's qute embarrasing.

 

So the onlye changes I would like to see in the cd track list is JIOTI and the Soul medley - why is that on there, wasn't this Barnev's mini concert? I was hoping that would be cut out from the DVD aswell...

 

Other than that, it looks really good.

yeah I have to agree... I would rather have The Show Must Go On on cd instead of JIOTI... but like RObin said, that might be on the english cd (though I doubt we'll be getting a french AND english cd...)

We don't know if that is true yet. That is only a theory a la Timster. And I must say, even though I want to believe int that theory, I don't. I mean if they haven't changed that track in what now 15 years, and couldn't do so for AND, the AND DVD nor the tour in general I highly doubt they did it for one night of the tour only...

 

And folks yes they screwed up big time with the sound of SOL live, it sounds like you hear it through water, it's still a new live perfromance. And to me that is worth ten times more than BYLM,TPOL, MHWGO and TLYM.
