That group is something alright I had to leave that circus … still tho, I don’t think people “hated” her short hair because the long brown hair was the only thing stable in their lives… I think Dave lost a few brain cells as those words exited his mouth. The reality is she looked terrible with it about 90% of the time… certain times it was styled much better and didn’t look bad… the premiere of A New Day… style was awful and aged Celine to look much older than her age…Celine was only like 34-35 at the time.

Let’s be honest: it wasn’t just the hair. It was the bizarre makeup and styling as well. She was following no one else’s trend — and, for that, I’ve always admired her tenacity and authenticity.

 

What irks me is that her “short blonde” look could have worked if they leaned a little more towards the FIY style… There are plenty of pictures from the rehearsals where I love the cut, but when the curtain came up it just didn’t work. Does anyone remember the LONG blonde hair?! There aren’t many pictures from that period, but I loved that and wish it lasted longer.

 

That said, when it comes to hairstyles, some of her more beloved looks are the ones I least like (TCWT, I’m looking at you) because they are so uninspired.

I'm glad they didn't release the blond hair DVD 20 years ago. It was horrible. But there was a screening for the audience.

I agree! Bad makeup, weird clothes and weird haircuts were the real problems in 2003 not the hair color itself.

She looked like Tan Mom. That whole era was absolutely horrible for her appearance. Aged her 20 years and it backfired horribly. I mean fashion in the early 2000s was horrible in general (a lot of the outfits and the HORRIBLE half wigs she wore in 2002 were just… no) but they threw her in the 50-year-old-mother version of 2000s clothes.

i’d say she probably sounded quite bad. The songs on the CD weren’t great aside from If I Could, and there is a 2004 bootleg in which she sounds terrible.

I'd love to watch the unreleased 2003 concert as well. Judging by the promotional trailer on YouTube it seems more energic and entertaining than the 2007 concert we got on DVD.
