You must know that if somebody is actually interested in vocals, singing and whatsoever is about a live performing singer, this person is going to give importance to what is actually delivered live and what is not.. It is not really a competition, neither an excuse to denigrate her talent: it's not just the stage experience or her stage presence, she is about vocals too, so this is something I keep in count of. I am not obsessed with this stuff, let's say that I want to know what is real and what is not :P

I dunno exactly where to put this, but Céline's VEVO just uploaded If I Could from A New Day... from 2004 and I guess this is from the infamous Blond DVD...

It's a bit annoying that they only uploaded a 360p quality! :ranting: I must say that I don't like the direction of this video. It's very Céline oriented, you don't really see anything that happens on stage. Such a shame! If this truely is from the Blond DVD, and the whole show was like this, then I'm not that mad about them not releasing it... (Although of course I would still love to see those initial AND... songs that were cut later).

This is not from the Blond DVD. This performance of ''If I Could'' was filmed for the Jerry Lewis Telethon back in 2003. In the unreleased Blond DVD Celine had bleached blonde hair :

as you can you see, this is the exact same hairdo as in the pro-shot performance of EJTAE which was taken from the unreleased DVD (I live in Quebec and back then the press said that this performance was taken from the then forthcoming DVD meant to be released in late 2004 :

I've always kinda been extremely interested in what is lipped and what is not, or at least I used to be, and I never noticed anything which could make me think EJTAE was lipped :P Also, if you think about it, Céline has rarely lowered the key of a french song live performance, as she never used a prerecorded track for a french song. There has been something done with zora zourit and with the latest french-leg tours (Le ballet), but I have always been really proud of her commitment to her french repertoire and to her french speaking audience, so I am quite confident about the authenticity of that very performance!

 

 

EJTAE is extremely obvious not just because of a tonal change with her vocals, but also due to her over exaggerated facial expressions which is a DEAD give away

I think this performance is quite similar to 2008 my love tour performance.. Over the top drama and heavy gestures, yet live!

 

 

My Love was different, apart from the F5 it was a quiet, slow acapella moment.

 

This however, she goes from her 2003 tone with her nasal voice and subdued vocals, to extremely powerful belts and a completely different 90s tone. That doesnt add up at all

Me neither. There's nothing rare or exclusive about this performance of ''If I Could''. I had this performance for years on my computer and it was even on YouTube a few years ago before it got deleted due to copyright infringement.

Trust me its really not. Celines belting in this era was subdued and nasal due to her trying to preserve her voice. You can hear in AA or IFC that she was singing nasally and not using her full belting voice but then in EJTAE she can belt flawlessly with such power and strength ??? Nope sorry. Not to mention it isnt her tone that era, in the pre recorded track it was her prime tone, the less mature younger tone present in 1996 etc. Not representative of 2003 at all and you can hear tone descrepancies between the chorus thats live into the lipped climax. If you compare the bootleg (which does have sound discrepancy due to the fact that its not the best quality) and the CD they sound identical on the climax

Ive also compared it to another mid 2003 bootleg on YT and its identical too. Many people here also agree its identical.

 

Where is that bootleg of EJTAE from mid 2003? :huh:

Why’s everyone moaning about the telethon performance of IIC?? No it’s not rare etc, it was for the telethon, just one song from her Vegas show. It’s nothing out of the ordinary, but she did the telethon several years over. Millions of people saw it that night.

 

Really feel people are being a bit harsh of late 😏 or maybe I’m just perceiving things in the wrong way. It’s probably me lol👍

It is different! :) Céline had the great ability to replicate one performance after another very easily in the past, to the point of making them almost sound the same, but to me it's plain obvious this version has a lot of differences to the one in the 2004 CD.

This is not at all my bootleg, but something I came across sometime back. I actually was curious and decided to check if I had a bootleg with Je T'aime Encore.... A nice tracklist. BTW, Seduces Me sounds much better here than it did toward the end.

Pretty sure a long time ago i downloaded from here.

 

Its on an external drive with a bunch of old stuff and bootlegs. Have a few others from a new day....Back when the multimedia section here was booming with downloads...so i imagine it was like 2009 when i download it lol

As for your opinion that its from the dvd, that's completely up to you to interperate but IMO regardless its lipped and thats evident when compared to other bootlegs.

It's not up to me, it's a fact, it was confirmed by the press back then here in Quebec that the EJTAE performance from the telethon was

taken from the then forthcoming DVD meant to be released in late 2004.

 

 

Also, if you compare the EJTAE from the telethon and the one from the A New Day… Live In Las Vegas CD, you'll notice that they are 100% identicals simply because they are the exact same performance.

could it be that the so creative Pink „stole“ Celines idea of flying on stage? Wasn’t Celine the very first one to fly on stage during a concert back than in 2003, and then all the starlets started doing the same?

People had been doing that way before Celine. Not to mention that Pinks “flying” was FAR different to Celines. Pink had a hoop net on her waist and was flying all around arenas, Celines was a full harness that only went up and down lol.

Yes that would be great :) but the very first thing they should upload are the music videos for MHWGO, BYLM and BATB. Those videos would surely boost her channel and her overall views a lot Edited by ordinary fan
