It's good to see that it will be the entire CBS special and not just selected performances, but why does it have to be another half hearted special edition for an English album? Sony have shown they can make superb special editions when it comes to Celine's French albums (1F&4T, ONCP, D'elles) so I wish they would really go for it with the English ones.

In my own personal opinion, this is going to be the 2nd time that they've wasted this album!... is dissapoiting to pan off a special release with something they call previously unreleased, even thought it was released in the sense that it aired on TV, Millions of people saw it including all the fans and any who didn't downloaded it and now have it... that not unlreleased!... just seems like another petty excuse to make a buck with no thought for who will be buying this put in at all!

Sony CAN make superb special editions as we have seen the past. The quite superb special edition of 1F&4T is a masterpiece as were all the different version of the greatest hits collection ONCP and they surpassed themselves with D'elles - the only mistake they made there was releasing all 3 editions at the same time - so they can do it.

 

Remember the one and only special edition they have released so far in English? 2 new songs you could only listen to in a DVD player, and a short 10 min documentary on Las Vegas. They need to do better with the English releases. Take this opportunity Sony. Please!

Well, with the DVD coming out, I don't know how much more we'll get with the record.

 

Frankly, as long as the photoshoot and packaging is as stunning as D'elles, I'm good to go. I'll be just fine with the Vegas DVD and all its bonus features.

 

But if they think creatively, there is plenty of extra stuff they could add to the record....

I agree with both of you.

However Shaun, even though the french special editions have been very fine they have missed one important thing: English subtitles. This is worth repeating: her English releases has French subtitles on them but the French have none (except French in some...). And releasing all edtions of D'Elles on the same time is not a bad mistake, that way fans can choose which version they want and which suits their wallet, and not milking every penny from the fans as they did with the ONCP editions.

 

Yes they screw up with her English special releases - dubbing the TCOML concert with the studio tracks .

 

The only release which I think SONY has done well is the ACDS DVD - the extra material here is superb! With recording sessions from both LTAL and SISDA - no English subtitles however...

 

And we shall not mention the AND... LIL fiasco.

 

I really didn't have much expectations for this new TAST release, but they have managed to bring something that is even below my low expectations. Remastered tracks, from a CD? (If they wanna remaster a cd it should be Celine Dion from 1992, it has horrible sound quality). And this TV show which has been viewed by every fan and most non-fans. Nothing is added to the show, no cut performances. And the duet with Andrea Bocelli wasn't even live.

 

And even though I didn't want to, many others did, and it is embarrasing that they don't even include I Met An Angel On Christmas Day.

 

Every Céline fan should be insulted by a release such as this - they take us for fools.

 

If any CBS special should be released it should be the ANDHC special, this was an important concert, it was her come back. And it should include all the excluded performances and the undubbed performance of GTSW.

 

And to those who didn't get it I was being sarcastic in my last post in this thread. I can't see why any would want the Live In Memphis concert on DVD. There is a lot unreleased Céline material that is far more exiting than a concert we already have on VHS.

Great post Fred.

 

Remember though that the Au Coeur Du Stade DVD was squarely aimed at the French market and again should be considered an excellent French release which again prompts me to say the English special releases have been poor. Let's not go on about the lack of English subtitles again because frankly it's just baffling that they don't include them.

 

And of course don't rule out another special edition of ANDHC in the future with the CBS special included. Yet another way for them to make money.

I do wish that they added more content to this CD/DVD . Then it would be a well worth buy for us Celine fans. Even better they should release DVDs of Celine other performances like Unison. Come on now I have the DVD version of the color of My Love concert. I'm starving for more Celine movies here!

anyway it's cool that they gonna include the entire special but as many said they should include 1 or 2 extra track and maybe some making of the album / videos ..
