LOL!overall sales is what's important and with no promotion we cant expect anything big from DELLES which is sad cause it's her best french album ever . Quote
Bullet Posted June 7, 2007 at 09:26 AM Posted June 7, 2007 at 09:26 AM The Voice - you are always repeating yourself!!!! Look at the bright side... With 24,000 units in Canada, this is still huge numbers. Look at what major acts sell in their first week in Canada and you'll see that 24,000 is like a huge first week (that's around what Maroon 5 sold the first week their album was released in Canada two weeks ago!!!). Of course, because Celine had the biggest debut in Canada this YEAR, it sure makes sense the sales drop by 67%!!! Just normal to me... So she sold almost 100,000 in two weeks!!! If you are not happy with that, I don't know what will.... Quote
thevoice Posted June 7, 2007 at 09:38 AM Author Posted June 7, 2007 at 09:38 AM i dont have any problem with celine , she is doing the best she can and more to promote herself while still being in vegas .my problem is with her record label - where the hell is A CAUSE? and why they r not pushing her songs harder on the radio stations? my point is that this album could sell much MUCH more than it's selling right now...the problem was never with the first week sales - the real question is what would happen few weeks from now when there will be no TV specials and interviews .well we all know the answer - just like in the past sony wont do a thing to keep the album alive and celine would have to do everything on her own . so many record labels would kill in order to have her yet sony r treating her like trash and taking her for granted while promoting all their young artists Quote

She is #1 in Canada. Her sales dipped 67% only sold 24,000. Hey but it is #1 second week. manilou Posted June 7, 2007 at 10:23 AM Posted June 7, 2007 at 10:23 AM I wrote this some pages ago: And what is the problem, if she doesn't sell more. She certainly has enough money to buy food for her family, she sold enough records and if she hasn't got enough time for promo so what?. We can't expect sony to concentrate on Céline. She sells enough even without any promo. I think it's ok they concentrate on other artists, that are not as popular as céline already is... BTW Céline said often enough, that sales are not important for her anymore. And it's not important for me either, because what counts is, that I like the album. And I DO LOVE THE ALBUM. Who cares how many dump Star Academy viewers buy her album after they saw her on the show? If I like it and Céline isn't dissappionted with the sales herself, there is nothing to argue about. BTW: In France an Canada the album sold 127.000 copies. LAst week there were only 3 albums that sold more in all countries around the world. And guess what? They were all in English. Maybe you should rethink your commercial view on this and enjoy the album like I do Quote http://s03.flagcounter.com/count/idbH/bg=FFFFFF/txt=000000/border=CCCCCC/columns=6/maxflags=248/viewers=3/labels=0/.jpg
thevoice Posted June 7, 2007 at 10:43 AM Author Posted June 7, 2007 at 10:43 AM i wrote here tons of times that for me it's her best french record regardless of it's commercial sucess .however saying that celine doesnt care about commercial success is hummmmmm....funny all celine and rene can think of this days is how to sell more records , she is working with the hottest producers around for her next english album due to 1 reason only : she wants this album to sell alot and she wants her singles to bomb the charts (in a good way LOL) celine wanted to record a jazz album , she wanted to do more conecpt albums in english yet for now she decieded to concentrate on being no 1 . she and rene care soooooooooooooo much about commercial success and when we'll hear her new album there will be no doubt about it Quote
Cambroneroj Posted June 7, 2007 at 12:02 PM Posted June 7, 2007 at 12:02 PM the chart position is not that important . what's important is that there is a major decline in canada even greater than i expected and judging from the fact there is no promotion planned there in few weeks this album would be out of sight Would you SHUT UP with your negativity. You never want to look at the positive that she's NUMBER 1. You are really starting to annoy me. Hey Krazy_kool_dude , the best thing to do is to completely ignore comments from this person, if you notice lots of people do it, dont pay any attention to The Voice cause his/her non-sense comments can annoy anyone .Last thing i say about this. In a more important note: Im happy Celine is still number one in canada, its gotta be hard to be able to sell CDs, i wonder how she is doing with download purchases. Also lots of people ilegally download the complete album from the net , making it harder for the artist to be on top of record sales. Just last week a good friend found out how long it would take for me to get my copy thru amazon , so he brought me a burned copy of D'elles until the order arrived but when i found out he downloaded illegaly from the net i put it right in the trash, i think thats very wrong , complete theft! Shaun Posted June 7, 2007 at 08:49 PM Posted June 7, 2007 at 08:49 PM Whilst Celine's chart positions for the album are good I completely agree that Sony need to get A Cause to radio NOW! It's clear that no-one is embracing Immensite as the 2nd single and we haven't had reports of the video being played anywhere so it should be time to cuts their losses on that one and get the best song on the album out to radio. amelie Posted June 8, 2007 at 09:05 AM Posted June 8, 2007 at 09:05 AM (edited) after a million listenings to "immensite" i started to really like it it needs to be in high audio quality to show its beauty i guess...but anyway she'll have to shoot a video for " a cause" i guess before releasing it as a single, that could take some time right?july maybe?i'm anticipating to see next week's greek chart cause thats when it will first appear, 99% of Celine's albums enter in no1, hope that will be the case with D'elles too... We still don't know what the second video she shooted in late January was? Edited June 8, 2007 at 09:06 AM by amelie Quote

dj4celine Posted June 8, 2007 at 11:49 AM Posted June 8, 2007 at 11:49 AM I don't know...for some reason or the other, I kind of agree with THE VOICE this time He's right in what he says. Celine NEEDS a commercial succes right now!! All the music channels and other media are only full of crap these days with HipHop dominating the radio and other media I wouldn't want her to do something drastic as changing her record label, but Celine or Rene should re-negotiate their deal with SONY. Here in India, people went gaga over TEOM by Mariah .....the last time I checked Sony Music India REALLy did something for Celine was when ONE HEART came out ( The video for "I Drove All Night" had the ppl drooling for the song here and it went to #2 in India and One Heart sold over 10k...that is like Silver or something here ). I agree that the world might not grasp Celine's new French album like they do with her English ones, but I think its high time Celine and Rene pressurised Sony to promote her more before the new english album comes out. BTW, I order all her French albums from CANADA...so even I play a teeny-weeny role in the sales there Quote

I agree with you when you say that Celine needs a hit immediately. However, nowadays, we've got a French album to think about. All we've got to do is to wait for her new English album; it seems to be out of this world. When we talk about a Celine's French album, we know that it may not be a big succes all over the world...
