thevoice Posted June 15, 2007 at 09:23 AM Author Posted June 15, 2007 at 09:23 AM davey - comes october the last thing on celine's mind would be the promotion of DELLES , u know she and rene will forget about it til then . they'll have the new english single and album to promote and after that the world tour who would boost if at all the sales of the english record Quote
Davey84 Posted June 15, 2007 at 09:28 AM Posted June 15, 2007 at 09:28 AM (edited) who is sure about that? When Céline tours in the frenchspeaking countries, she won't be singing only songs of her new english album, the (new) french songs will be in the spotlight! I'm hoping she'll be singing a lot of songs from 1F4T and DE She might be promotion the english album in october, but if she does a big show like Vivant Dimanche, it wouldn't hurt to 'perform' A Cause, Les Paradis or Femme Comme Chacune... a french show would never be 100% about an english album! I'm just praying A Cause will be released for the summer as a double A-side (AC&OSAC) and that it will have a great video!! And I'm curious what the special did for this week's sales! thevoice Posted June 15, 2007 at 10:06 AM Author Posted June 15, 2007 at 10:06 AM well i think the album wont be relevant til october , not even in france...maybe her visit will boost the album sales for a week or 2 but nothing major .they had to know this is exactly what would happen releasing the album when they did , while celine is still in vegas and few months before the english release Quote
amelie Posted June 15, 2007 at 11:08 AM Posted June 15, 2007 at 11:08 AM i believe if the english album does well the french one will also benefit.it might be actually just a bit soon to release a cause, they've already promoted 2 radio friendly songs from the album and the album is in stores only 3 weeks worldwide and 1 week in other countries like Greece for example.2-3 weeks from now a single of A cause + ONSAAC (including a spectacular video in the single) would be the album's saviour. do you think there's any chance the TF1 special would be broadcasted in other European countries?it could be interesting since there are so many artists involved, (i'd also like to see the parts of the show that were not uploaded at the MM section ) Quote
Viva las Vegas Posted June 15, 2007 at 11:21 AM Posted June 15, 2007 at 11:21 AM I just checked the official charts and Céline enters at #52 in Germany! For me it's quite a surprise because I didn't expect her to enter the Top100 here anyway because there was no promotion at all except for an advert in a magazine^^ But she did beat Barbra Streisand who entered at #54 with her live album this week Quote http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/2392/liveineuropesigtt5.jpgThe new German-speaking fan site >> toujoursCéline << Die neue deutschsprachige Fanseite 24.05.08 - Paris, France25.05.08 - Paris, France27.05.08 - Paris, France30.05.08 - Dublin, Ireland12.06.08 - Berlin, Germany14.06.08 - Frankfurt, Germany16.06.08 - Stuttgart, Germany18.06.08 - Köln, Germany20.06.08 - Hamburg, Germany22.06.08 - München, Germany05.07.08 - Nice, France

salsacolin Posted June 15, 2007 at 05:26 PM Posted June 15, 2007 at 05:26 PM Yeah the TV special should push it up a bit the next week. I definitely think considering that CD sales are NOTHING compared to even a few years ago we cannot expect much more than 1million. I reckon after the October promo and the tour it will surpass that. She hasn't even been to France yet Quote I never even knew the song the orchestra was playing........ I remember the old days when she used to chart higher. If I'm not wrong this is the worst chart entry for a french Celine album. Even her French live albums charted better. And by the way, the french speaking Celine albums never get much promotion in Germany unlike Patricia Kaas. Quote

You should also check the reviews of Céline on that page... they are really good, and honest! I agree with most of them.. but there was one thing that made me angry! Celine was due to release the powerful "If Walls Could Talk" in place of this, but the choice was changed, and I still fail to see why. "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" is a weak, slow, boring track which is not at all catchy, and will do Celine no favours at all. Her voice is, as usual, great on this track, but there really isn't much for her to sing. Pop/soul ballads which show off her vocals are what she is best at, but this just isn't one. 1 star (DS) IWCT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A SINGLE!! IT WAS THE BEST MOST BEAUTIFUL NEW SONG ON ATW AND SONY SCREWED IT UP BIG TIME!!! CÉLINE COULD HAVE ENDED HER 90IES CARREER WITH A BIG HIT, INSTEAD IT SILENTLY ENDED WITH 'LIVE', TFTEISYF AND IWYTNM :( Oh sorry for my yelling... it's just... that song... that video... that amazing and screwed...
