boyblackuk Posted June 10, 2007 at 03:12 PM Posted June 10, 2007 at 03:12 PM I wrote this some pages ago: And what is the problem, if she doesn't sell more. She certainly has enough money to buy food for her family, she sold enough records and if she hasn't got enough time for promo so what?. We can't expect sony to concentrate on Céline. She sells enough even without any promo. I think it's ok they concentrate on other artists, that are not as popular as céline already is... BTW Céline said often enough, that sales are not important for her anymore. And it's not important for me either, because what counts is, that I like the album. And I DO LOVE THE ALBUM. Who cares how many dump Star Academy viewers buy her album after they saw her on the show? If I like it and Céline isn't dissappionted with the sales herself, there is nothing to argue about. BTW: In France an Canada the album sold 127.000 copies. LAst week there were only 3 albums that sold more in all countries around the world. And guess what? They were all in English. Maybe you should rethink your commercial view on this and enjoy the album like I do WELL SAID. taking this view and actually enjoying the album is some good advice. The fact that the album is number 1 is fantastic. A french album which has sold more than 207'000 (500'000 shipped) copies in 2 weeks is phenominal, bearing in mind that it has only been released properly in canada and a few countries in europe. THINK OF IT THIS WAY (I hope im not repeating this) If you think about it, Lincoln Park and Maroon 5 have sold more because they have released their album to more than 25 countries, Celine has released hers in 9 countries. The most important thing should be that she is giving us something new and it is FANTSTIC, especially A Cause and Femme Comme Chacune Quote
dj4celine Posted June 10, 2007 at 08:04 PM Posted June 10, 2007 at 08:04 PM I don't know...for some reason or the other, I kind of agree with THE VOICE this time He's right in what he says. Celine NEEDS a commercial succes right now!! All the music channels and other media are only full of crap these days with HipHop dominating the radio and other media I wouldn't want her to do something drastic as changing her record label, but Celine or Rene should re-negotiate their deal with SONY. Here in India, people went gaga over TEOM by Mariah .....the last time I checked Sony Music India REALLy did something for Celine was when ONE HEART came out ( The video for "I Drove All Night" had the ppl drooling for the song here and it went to #2 in India and One Heart sold over 10k...that is like Silver or something here ). I agree that the world might not grasp Celine's new French album like they do with her English ones, but I think its high time Celine and Rene pressurised Sony to promote her more before the new english album comes out. BTW, I order all her French albums from CANADA...so even I play a teeny-weeny role in the sales there Thank you for the wonderful information about India! It's so wonderful to hear about Celine's success in India. Do you know about the success of her other albums? Dhanyavad! yup..i sure do have some info about Celine and her sales in India but I do not know how to put all of it together. I mean, I definitely want to correct the album sales details in many of her fan sites. I have written many e-mails and contacted the webmasters, but they just seem to ignore them. For starters, Celine is 2nd highest selling foreign female artist in India (Celine was #1 till 2003 but then Shakira overtook her in terms of sales here ) But as this thread is about D'elles and its chart positions, I would post this info in some other thread. Can someone help me find where to put the info on the sales and chart positions in India?? Quote

blue.grave Posted June 11, 2007 at 01:27 PM Posted June 11, 2007 at 01:27 PM I'm glad that is Celine ruling the charts in France and the other countries that have D'Elles. But here in the U.S. Things are pretty bleak, there are many people who don't have the album; including myself. Or haven't heard of it at all. This thing should have been out in stores by now. Unfortunately with all the delays that are happening. I'm getting quite flustered over this. WTF is going on with Sony Music here?
