"D'Elles" - on the charts!

"D'Elles" debuted at #11 in the European Top 100 Albums.

 

Celine Dion`s new French language album 'D`Elles' (Columbia) opened at No. 11 on Top 100 Albums after debuting at No. 1 in France and No. 3 in Switzerland, and climbing 13-1 in Wallony. The single "Et S`Il N`En Restait Qu`Une," which debuted at No. 1 in France last month, held at No. 4 in that Belgian region. The album was released in selected European territories May 21, and Dion was also working on a new English language set for release in the autumn.

"On Ne Change Pas" debuted at #46. "1 Fille & 4 Types" debuted at #9. Please, consider that 1F&4T was released on the same day all over Europe.

I've already shared my opinion concerning A Cause videoclip, the ambiance must be, like we say here, "porno chic", in a trendy billionaire parisien club, with effects of red lights, with a black leather Céline and fire around, ...

It's proportioned to the sales of this year. It's the French CD market that has changed. For example, this week Nelly Furtado's new single debuted in France at #1 with just 7.000.

it doesnt have anything to do with the market . everytime celine is not selling as much as she used to people here r blaming the market . the fact is that since the release of ONCP and 1F4T the market hasnt changed alot and those albums still sold much more . there is one more fact - celine is selling from DELLES more than from any of her previous french records in canada .

And what is the problem, if she doesn't sell more. She certainly has enough money to buy food for her family, she sold enough records and if she hasn't got enough time for promo so what?. We can't expect sony to concentrate on Céline. She sells enough even without any promo. I think it's ok they concentrate on other artists, that are not as popular as céline already is...

 

 

BTW Céline said often enough, that sales are not important for her anymore. And it's not important for me either, because what counts is, that I like the album. And I DO LOVE THE ALBUM. Who cares how many dump Star Academy viewers buy her album after they saw her on the show?

 

If I like it and Céline isn't dissappionted with the sales herself, there is nothing to argue about.

 

BTW: In France an Canada the album sold 127.000 copies. LAst week there were only 3 albums that sold more in all countries around the world. And guess what? They were all in English.

 

Maybe you should rethink your commercial view on this and enjoy the album like I do

Wow was looking at the France's album chart. Linkin Park dropped to #5.

 

Apparently, I think D'elles will still be at #1 next week unless there is a new French album released by some famous artists or some other English album - big hits ones... But since it gets to #1 now, people know OH, Celine has a new album - by looking at the Top 10 Chart, they probably will rush and get that album!! This applies to people who go to music store. And when the TV special is out in June, woala... people who don't go to music store or shop online will know about that new album!!! And they will go and get it!!

 

Trying to be optimistic here. D'elles could probably in the #1 chart for at least 3 weeks!!

Although I haven't got myself a copy yet. I know, shame on me.. But no worries, I'm waiting for HMV UK, this 4th June!! Will get my album on the 5th!! Yipeee. can't wait.

I remember I was at HMV (music store) last week purchasing my copy of D'elles and I was checking to see if HMV sold it. They did, they had five copies available at the time, but I wanted to check somewhere else to see it if was cheaper... the other place didn't have it yet... So... ten minutes later.. I go back to HMV and there were only two more copies available at that particular store. It sold three in ten minutes! I'm sure there were far more long before I got there. If that's not amazing, I don't know what is.
