"Taking Chances" album - Official Topic

Honestly, the title isn't amazing. And now with that Shania Twain reference, it's going to be even more tainted, lol.

 

I know some of you think it doesn't matter much, as Shania doesn't own the phrase "The Woman In Me". But tell me, how would you guys feel and what would you say if, let's say, Mariah Carey releases an album called "Falling Into You" but which has nothing to do with Celine's song, etc. Would you react the same way you are right now? Be honest. Or would you be saying "Heh, Mariah isn't creative enough anymore to find an album title of her own!"?

 

So, yeah, for the american market, it's not that great of a move to use such a well known album title. Internationally, it won't matter as quite frankly, only in the US that "The Woman In Me" is associated to Shania. I like Shania so I already knew about it, but I'm sure if I asked my friends and such, they wouldn't have a clue.

 

Or maybe, it's just a tactic to get the media to talk about the album even more and generate more publicity. As mentioned in another thread, a lot of big names are releasing albums later this year. Madonna, Britney, Whitney, Mariah, etc.

if thats the case it won't be long till we see the 1st english single video.... i cant wait to see and hear it :)

 

i dunno y but id love a video of celine, leaving the stage after a new day, going backstage, doing her thing, emerging looking casual but sexy as always and either leave in her car, or walk through the casino, to her car outside and have her singing the whole way through obviously, showing shots of vegas and flash backs from the past 5 years in vegas. & finally her boarding her private jet were rene and rene charles are alrady seated waiting for her to leave vegas, and the plane takes off.....i think that be cool..it be nice to see her do a proper video in vegas before she leaves cos it obviously mean't alot to her those 5 years and to the fans as alot of us travelled there on vacation and to see celine, some of us more than once and it'll be great to celebrate that and the show in this way....

Well Given the fact that "the woman in me " was one of the biggest selling albums of the 90's and closely associated with Shania, i really don't see it as unique as the title of the highly anticipated release should be. I can see if the Woman in Me by Shania wasnt a big seller or even relatively unknown, then go with it for Celine, but as it was such a huge release for Shania, Celine's camp should really go for somthing more creative.

 

Personally I think the title floating around this forum of "Eyes on me"--if it is inded a song on the new album---is great! Catchy, and fitting! But who know, maybe 'woman in me' isnt even the title. Remember years back, some radio djs were saying 'lets talk about love was' was called "the reason" and actually, I think "The reason" was going to be the title of the album, but they changed it!

 

Sony, Celine, Rene, if you're reading.....don't go with "Woman" as the title.

i didnt say for the video for taking chances cos obviously that dont make sense as a concept....i said 'a' song on the album.... who said for definate that 'taking chances' will be the 1st single and even if it is the next single, this concept could maybe be used for the next single before or just after the show ends...lol, its just an idea (wish) :P Edited by Ire23
