True, but IMO...."Céline" could very well mean the very same thing as "The Woman In Me"..

Though it's shorter, more simple and not used before.

Both EYES on me or Taking Chances has a cool ring to it though i DONT Hate " The Woman in Me" i think it's to complicated like eventhough the ONE HEART album flopped of all the songs that was the BEST title for the CD ....Lets talk About Love ( HORRIBLE) should have been THE REASON.....Falling into you should have been MAKE YOU HAPPY and A New day Has Come should have been shortened to the title of the vegas Show A New Day...In my opinon the shorter the better

Well I think if she's gonna have a more edgy cd then "Taking Chances" would be a

cool & appropriate title. I don't think it'll be that a big a deal if they leave it at "The Woman In Me" but

I just wonder if there will be a song with that same title on the cd.

 

I gotta disagree about LTAL - I think it was a cool title since the cd was filled with songs about love. I also

love the FIY title and I agree about A New Day - shorter is better!!

heard the title, "The Woman In Me", I thought about the Donna Summer song from the

early 80's which was also the title to her album that Quincey Jones produced.

It's true that Donna Summer had a song titled "The Woman In Me" but the name of the album was actally "Donna Summer", not TWIM.

was pretty good for it. The album in general didn't do too well though.

They had to change the show from Muse as the band have that name copywrited. It's very silly all these people getting angry and bitchy about a bloody album title. I for one hope it stays the same now just to put these peoples noses out of joint. It may not even be the same song for goodness sake!

yes, really shania twain has an album that has the same name Released: February 7, 1995

There's also another "Woman In Me" album by the British artist Louise

Can I also point out that Shania's album was massive in America but not in most other countries although it did go top 10 in some.

Honestly, the title isn't amazing. And now with that Shania Twain reference, it's going to be even more tainted, lol.

 

I know some of you think it doesn't matter much, as Shania doesn't own the phrase "The Woman In Me". But tell me, how would you guys feel and what would you say if, let's say, Mariah Carey releases an album called "Falling Into You" but which has nothing to do with Celine's song, etc. Would you react the same way you are right now? Be honest. Or would you be saying "Heh, Mariah isn't creative enough anymore to find an album title of her own!"?

 

So, yeah, for the american market, it's not that great of a move to use such a well known album title. Internationally, it won't matter as quite frankly, only in the US that "The Woman In Me" is associated to Shania. I like Shania so I already knew about it, but I'm sure if I asked my friends and such, they wouldn't have a clue.

 

Or maybe, it's just a tactic to get the media to talk about the album even more and generate more publicity. As mentioned in another thread, a lot of big names are releasing albums later this year. Madonna, Britney, Whitney, Mariah, etc.

not crazy about the title, honestly hoping they end up using something ORIGINAL, but I mean, I'm still super excited to hear the album, I think its going to be really fresh and strong regardless of what they decide to call it.
