Céline's Blues Posted July 17, 2007 at 11:45 AM Posted July 17, 2007 at 11:45 AM WOW!!! I loved this song! I think it's a great kind of song for her. Smooth rock...LOL@ Smooth Rock - it's rather college rock which is exact the type of music (a la Michelle Branch) Céline should have done with OH. Would suit her perfectly. Now we will have a comparison - let's see in how far her version might be brushed i.e. Céline's cover songs and songs in English in general tend to be extrmely polished, without any edges, hoarsness, this certain "close sound" that is in her French songs. Her English songs are rather theatric than acoustic and you definitely definitely hear that. I would find it pity if "Taking Chances" would be even more polished on "The Emancipation of CiDi". tativale Posted July 17, 2007 at 12:46 PM Posted July 17, 2007 at 12:46 PM If this is indeed true, it will continue in the direction of One heart in terms of young and fresh pop-rock. I hope this album is cohorent and no a mish-mash. I have said it before but it is clear to me that there is no room for I knew I loved you on this album!I don't want a One Heart part 2! heheh Bleh.... hope it won't be like that. RRphantom Posted July 17, 2007 at 01:41 PM Posted July 17, 2007 at 01:41 PM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UUBSHMvuRw While her early solo and band efforts did not result in commercial successes, she became a much-sought songwriter, writing or co-writing many international hit songs from 2000 to today (see discography below). The majority of her songs have been recorded by American females (Ashlee Simpson,Ashley Tisdale, Britney Spears, Hilary Duff, Christina Aguilera, Anastacia, Pink, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and others) with a significant minority recorded by Australian females (Kylie Minogue, Natalie Imbruglia, Delta Goodrem, The Veronicas and others). She also has a song on Canadian singer Avril Lavigne's third album The Best Damn Thing. She co-wrote twelve of the fourteen songs on Hilary Duff's third studio album Dignity. DioGuardi can also be heard performing backup vocals on some of these recordings. Notable writing collaborators include Greg Wells, John Shanks, Guy Chambers and Steve Morales. Celine Dion's new 2007 CD includes the song "Taking Chances" that DioGuardi wrote and recorded with Dave Stewart in 2006 as the band Platinum Weird.DioGuardi is working on some tracks for Britney Spears. If this is indeed true, it will continue in the direction of One heart in terms of young and fresh pop-rock. I hope this album is cohorent and no a mish-mash. Viva las Vegas Posted July 17, 2007 at 02:41 PM Posted July 17, 2007 at 02:41 PM I don't think so because "Stay Here Tonight" is one of the songs from Enrique's current album. celine5-5 Posted July 18, 2007 at 07:48 PM Posted July 18, 2007 at 07:48 PM celine is too good for this song. i like it, but celine can do better. it might be good though, if she uses her good voice. but it wouldn't be my first choice if i was her. Quote

More I listen to that, less I like. Sounds like a ordinary song. Nice, but ordinary. If Celine has recorded that, I wish that she changed some arrangements(sp), more rock, more power. changepas39 Posted July 20, 2007 at 05:38 AM Posted July 20, 2007 at 05:38 AM it might be a really good song for celine...something different. the power of love was a cover...and look at it one of celine's greatest english hits Quote http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f131/changepas39/f28ed0e8-0230-434c-9df9-6801977de1f0_zps821ef336.jpg
Javier_Natalio Posted July 20, 2007 at 01:33 PM Posted July 20, 2007 at 01:33 PM I guess it´s the right direction, maybe the wrong song, I don´t know. Seems too bland. And I know we should be used to "bland" from Celine (not Céline) but I was hoping this album would take a different turn... And Celine never puts a twist into her cover songs, like never ever, except for IDAN... Quote
$P!K& Posted July 20, 2007 at 03:31 PM Posted July 20, 2007 at 03:31 PM I listen and listen and want more and more celine sing that kind of music.... i'ts just perfect.... like carrie underwood. Its' amazing. Quote

Although it's a musical direction I''d love to céline taking on... this song is a bit bland... I dunno I didn't have a WOW feeling with it... Maybe Céline can give it more edge!
