"Taking Chances" album - Official Topic

Ok, listening to the remix I am doing all I can to make myself like it. If this would had been another artist but Céline I would had trown it away so fast and hard it would had landed in L.A. by now - no, probably hovering in the Skies Of L.A. trying to get permission to land, but Kara's mumbling don't get through to the flight controllers...

 

Now, crap, I can't make myself get over the fact that the only part I like is that part when this Kara chick mumbles "never know if you bem mumba migh on oh" over and over again - what she had to do in there anyway?!

 

And yea I kind of like the quicker pace when Céline finally kicks in, but can't see why they had to make her sound like a chipmunk high on helium!

 

And I thought it had gotten through the thick heads of the amateur remixers that quickening the pace and adding repetitive electric drum beats ONLY is not the way to go, so why does this "professional" use that recipe?

 

Too bad, once we finally get a mix it's something like this.

 

When was the last great remix (great remixes almost turns the song into a new song and shines new light to the original version and makes one fall in love with it all over again even though it got overplayed a thousand times)?

 

Was it Immortality or Misled, which was totally renewed and sounded like a totally new song with a gospel feeling to it, nice example of a good remix.

No need to worry about Britney or Alicia or whomever releases on the same week. If we all go buy the album, it will definitely have a shot at number 1. I just want the album to have a long stay atop the charts, just like "Falling Into You," and that people respect it a lot. I recall reading Billboard's columnist Melinda Newman's predictions for the 97 Grammys and she wrote that although Celine's album was not on her CD player, she hoped "Falling Into You" would get the Album of the Year Grammy because Celine had worked a lot and, almost a year after its debut, the album was still kicking butt. "Taking Chances" will kick butt as well!

Yeah, me too. But it's good now that we have atleast Celine going for a #2 debut if not a #1. But who knows, Celine may outsell Alicia too

well i truely don't think someone would be able to take the no 1 spot from her WORLDWIDE .i might be wrong cause everything has changed so much since her last real album but hopefuly alicia or the spice girls wont cause her troubles in europ

 

as for the u.s - i fear alicia is going to sell around 500k the first week of the release ...alot of people r talking about this album , she is so hot there right now and her song is a hit unlike TC

I was just listening to the remix of taking chances that I think someone on here made, and I like it. As for the official remix for the song, I haven't got a chance to listen to it yet but I'm sure I'll listen to it soon. On the 13th of Oct it will be only a month til celine's new album gets released. I really hope that skies of LA is on her new album, because I would really like to hear it. From the title of the song it sounds like it would be a ballad but I guess we really don't know until it gets release (if it does). I LOVE Song For You , can't wait til I hear it on the album, nice, polished, and finished.

However, i DO fear Alicia might outsell Celine.. Alicia will probably head for the 600,000, as I predict some 400,000 for Celine...

 

What can we do to make some buzz around this album???? I'm not seeing people talking much about it!

And I truly believe it's celine's "comeback" opportunity! She really needs to get on the train this time!

It's not so so bad, but I don't like it.

It seems something made in hurry. Celine voice seems just go faster and not well addapted to the music.

Anyway it's always better than nothing.

I'll listen again to it so maybe it will like me.

Hey.. I was thinking about celine's voice on the new album.. and I reached to the following:

 

 

Just the woman in me: I'm almost convinced this is gonna be LTAL quality material! Her voice is full, soulful, and clear... LOVE IT!

 

Taking Chances/Alone: ONE HEART quality, nice voice, but a little nasal at times.. and not as crystal clear as in the ninetees.

 

Eyes on me/A world to believe in: sounds like ANDHC era.. eyes on me is like coulda woulda shoulda's sister... perfect technique.. but still, lacking the spark it had in previous years.

 

Surprise surprise: somewhere between ANDHC and one heart...

 

a song for you: sorry to tell you this (for those people who praise this song), I think her voice sounds horrible, nasal, like the awful live performances we are getting accustomed to lately.. it's as if it was ripped off from the miracle album..

I was assuming that the overall album would be like rock chick Celine.

We think the real reason that the album is being moved is that the record was originally slated to come out on November 13th, the same day as Celine Dion’s hotly anticipated new record, which is expected to do quite well.

 

Both albums are being released on labels owned by Sony BMG and they probably didn’t want Britney to look bad when Celine outsold her.

 

We’ve heard almost all the songs on Brit Brit’s new album.
