With all the excitement and the circulation of "Taking Chances," I think it's time to start discussing the music video. What are your thoughts on the music video for the song?? How do you envision it? News, comments, thoughts, suggestions??

 

I personally think Celine should keep the new hair for the video.

I wish it was her in the video acting it with a beautiful man as her lover...e.g David Beckham (my secret boyf) or someone really famous at the moment. I don't want something like Immensite with a helicopter flying around her like a deranged pigeon ad zooming in to her oversized rings...I like the rings- but really, I want a proper music video with a point, not just to show some lovely scenery. This is her first single and for Celine to be mainstream again (and she CAN be) she needs a video that channels want to play.

I too hope she keeps the look of her album cover- very power-sex-I can sing better than anyone-punk-*CENSORED* type of look. It suits her.

I think it should take place in a big city. Lots of cars, lights, and skyscrapers. It fits the atmosphere of the song.

 

Perhaps the beginning can start with her sitting somewhere calm and quiet (still in the city - like on a bench next to a fountain or something), then she starts walking somewhere and then she's in downtown somehwere. Then when the chorus comes, something interesting can happen. Just a thought.

The only thing I want from the music video is that it maintains the attitude of the cover!! a reaaaallyyy STRONG video shot in widescreen with a lot of contrasts on the image with lots of props....but with a raw Celine PLEASE!!!! nothing like IA makeup freaky

Though I really should be typing a psychology paper for my master's program, I Will take some time and be creative.

 

As much as I really like music videos that are "real" and have like a story to them, something about this song says to me that it needs to be set in vegas.

 

During the slow part of the song, I can see her singing softly, getting into her car to go to Caesar's and pulling up. She goes inside, it shows the colossieum....music keeps playing, she is walking around singing, and they keep showing milestones during AND, like the 100 sold out shows, where she holds up the candle from the cake, and says she's number one, maybe somethin from other special shows, etc....because really doing the show was taking a chance for her as well. She keeps going, then towards the part of the song where she really rocks out, she goes inside and sits down and the place is empty...maybe with her feet up and she's still singing, looking around, thinking about the moment's she has had inside.

 

When it gets to the part of the "and i had my heart beaten down...", she walks up on the stage and performs that part. Then when it slows back down, she gets back into her car and drives away. At the very end, it should show her driving and she looks into the rear view mirror and you can see in her rear view, the Welcome to Las Vegas sign. (Kinda like on the studio video).

 

So yeah, thats just my thoughts LOL

She needs to be there, play her part, make out with a gorgeous guy or do crazy things in a video!

I'm not sure it should be set in vegas- I always thought that'd be perfect for her first single, to say goodbye and welcome the New Post LV Celine...but I dunno if it'd suit TC.
