gmany Posted September 11, 2007 at 05:42 AM Posted September 11, 2007 at 05:42 AM Yeah I am positive that Alicia will bring in spot #1 first week. Her last album sold over 618,000 copies opening week. I think Celine will bring good numbers around 250,000-350,000 but defanitley not enough to get that #1 , sadly. Last opening week sales figures of the three girls: Alicia: 618,000Celine: 420,000 (One Heart)Britney: I am pretty sure around 550,000. Alicia 618,000 Britney 609,000Celine 432,000 Quote
Bellamy Posted September 11, 2007 at 06:18 AM Posted September 11, 2007 at 06:18 AM Celine releasing "Taking Chances" news is on headline of the top 3 websites in China today. They also posted the full song preview of TC. If I;m not wrong, the news and the preview is submitted to them by SONYBMG China. I think SONYBMG China is doing some good promo in China this time. thevoice Posted September 11, 2007 at 06:22 AM Posted September 11, 2007 at 06:22 AM Amazon's & HMV's sales have always counted to the national chart.. it's been this way for a long long time.. And sales are added every week. StatusAmazon.com Sales Rank: #10 in Music Popular in these categories: #1 in Music > Pop > Adult Contemporary #1 in Music > Pop > Vocal Pop #1 in Music > Miscellaneous > Holiday > General Christmas so what u r saying is that celine can enter the billboard hot 200 chart next week already...2 months before the official release?!? Love, Posted September 11, 2007 at 06:31 AM Posted September 11, 2007 at 06:31 AM (edited) I got the confirmation that "A Song For You" is written by Robert Wells, Anders Bagge and Aldo Nova. Ahhhhh dangit! You're going to hate me for saying this, but I was actually hoping that it was the cover version! Thanks Renato! Edited September 11, 2007 at 06:32 AM by Love, Quote

Other albums also pre-released in Amazon. Also Amazon sales is only a portion of the soundscan sales, maybe not small, but not the biggest I think. Walmart maybe is the biggest seller in the USA. Hehe, me too. I like that song, especially Ray Charles' and Dusty Springfield version. I would have loved to hear Celine's take on that one.I really lost track of which songs are new and which are covers (At least Alone is the only one that's quite known, Taking Chances or That's Just The Woman - never heard before) Quote
stevo Posted September 11, 2007 at 08:23 AM Posted September 11, 2007 at 08:23 AM I think I might buy about 5 of the $9.99 albums off amazon.com...they'd only be £5 each! Madness! Quote
thevoice Posted September 11, 2007 at 08:29 AM Posted September 11, 2007 at 08:29 AM isnt it a "waste" to release the album so early on amazon? alot of people r buying it yet it wont effect her first week sales ...it could have been better releasing it to amazon 2 or 3 weeks before the release and not so early by the end of the day she might even be no 1 there...if they really combine amazon sales - she can debut next week based only on amazon!! Ronny83 Posted September 11, 2007 at 08:33 AM Posted September 11, 2007 at 08:33 AM From hmv.co.uk: With 180 million career sales worldwide, countless Grammys and 2 Academy Awards, the Canadian superdiva Celine Dion returns in full force this November with her first new English-speaking album in years. 'Taking Chances' confirms Celine’s vocal supremacy is as breathtaking and effortless as ever. The album reveals a change of direction with an edgier, guitar-driven sound, balancing epic pop ballads and soaring showstoppers with a more understated feel. 'Taking Chances' is bound to thrill her UK fans with such a dazzling return to form; it could also surprise and attract a new audience. The title track and lead single was written by Dave Stewart and Kara DioGuardi (Natasha Bedingfield/Kelly Clarkson/Pink/Gwen Stefani). Quote The Celine Dion Italian fanbase - CelineDionItalia.com

Teodora Posted September 11, 2007 at 09:29 AM Posted September 11, 2007 at 09:29 AM (edited) I made up my mind not to care if it debuts at no. 1 or not. I know the music will be good, and that's all I care about. Besides, she may not debut at no.1 in the US, but her new album were almost always no.1 in the world wide sales, and I'm sure this time it will be same (let's face it, from all singers releasing albums during that time, only Britney has that world wide audiance, and she blew it by that VMAs appeareance). Personally, I'm going to wait to see if they will have the special edition on the Boutique, if not, I'm going to order it from Amazon, together with These Are Special Times + DVD edition and the Taking Chances single. Save up on post&package, it's quite expensive to Romania. Edited September 11, 2007 at 09:44 AM by Teodora Quote

sielines Posted September 11, 2007 at 01:00 PM Posted September 11, 2007 at 01:00 PM "Taking Chances" sound abso-fantastic-lutely great! Can't wait for the whole album. The first reaction when seeing the cover of the new cd was a big laugh. But the more I see it - the more I like it. I'm happy they changed it a bit so it's not so obviously looking like "the empaticipation of mimi" (mariah carey). Quote
