Yeah I am positive that Alicia will bring in spot #1 first week. Her last album sold over 618,000 copies opening week. I think Celine will bring good numbers around 250,000-350,000 but defanitley not enough to get that #1 , sadly.

 

Last opening week sales figures of the three girls:

 

Alicia: 618,000

Celine: 420,000 (One Heart)

Britney: I am pretty sure around 550,000.

Other albums also pre-released in Amazon. Also Amazon sales is only a portion of the soundscan sales, maybe not small, but not the biggest I think. Walmart maybe is the biggest seller in the USA.

Hehe, me too. I like that song, especially Ray Charles' and Dusty Springfield version. I would have loved to hear Celine's take on that one.

isnt it a "waste" to release the album so early on amazon? alot of people r buying it yet it wont effect her first week sales ...it could have been better releasing it to amazon 2 or 3 weeks before the release and not so early

 

by the end of the day she might even be no 1 there...if they really combine amazon sales - she can debut next week based only on amazon!!

I made up my mind not to care if it debuts at no. 1 or not. I know the music will be good, and that's all I care about. Besides, she may not debut at no.1 in the US, but her new album were almost always no.1 in the world wide sales, and I'm sure this time it will be same (let's face it, from all singers releasing albums during that time, only Britney has that world wide audiance, and she blew it by that VMAs appeareance). Personally, I'm going to wait to see if they will have the special edition on the Boutique, if not, I'm going to order it from Amazon, together with These Are Special Times + DVD edition and the Taking Chances single. They don't ship or even charge for the pre-orders before the release date. How can they be counted 2 months earlier? Those pre-orders can be cancelled at anytime before ship.

The track list isn't complete yet so don't get wroked up over nothing yet! Next week we should know for sure how many tracks the album will contain.

 

I'm more than sure they will add more to those 13 tracks, but then again I wouldnt have anything against a tight, shorter album that blows you away on first listen.

"Taking Chances" sound abso-fantastic-lutely great! Can't wait for the whole album.

 

The first reaction when seeing the cover of the new cd was a big laugh. But the more I see it - the more I like it. I'm happy they changed it a bit so it's not so obviously looking like "the empaticipation of mimi" (mariah carey).
