I agree and i was little dissapointed in her performance here it is clearly

she doesn't match Celine's voice or range something is missing..

She also could not hold the chest note nor the end note very

long it was like she got short of breath.

But Lara is a great singer though and she is very talented and

has that similarities in her voice between Streisand-Celine.

I bought the Russian edition a while ago of "Mademoiselle Zhivago".

Great to see it's finally released elsewhere with new tracks and the long awaited dvd.

I love the DVD. But I find Lara Fabian live always very entertaining. Besides a lot of songs from the Mademoiselle Zhivago album, she also sings some songs from older albums like Je T'Aime, Je Suis Malade, Adagio and Broken Vow.

I'm not sure why people keep saying Lara's got no originality, that she's just a copycat and everything like that. When I heard Fabian for the first time back in the 90s I felt there was something Celine-like about her music but the more tries I gave to Lara's music the more I realised how insane of me it was to think she copies Celine I think Lara is a gifted, talented artisr, an amazing live performer and a beautiful woman. I'm not a diehard fan of hers but I've got a great deal of respect for that woman and her attitude to Celine is truly amazing, she's got so much admiration and respect towards Celine, I'll never be able to realise why Celine's fans find this annoying. I don't think that if a female artist posesses great vocal abilities and loves Celine's music and sings ballads herself must be a copycat. And while the haters keep wasting their time saying Lara Fabian is crap, she'll keep earning pretty much money and enjoying herself spending the money

 

P.S. I used to think Lara's album "Every Woman In Me" was kinda boring. I gave it another try the other day. Gosh, this is totally fantastic, 'Do You Know Where're You Going To' is amazing

Well, Celine's got much admiration for Barbra Streisand and Michael Jackson but people don't say it's annoying. We all love Celine, Lara's just another fan of hers who really loves her, it's just that she happens to be a singer herself Celine told Lara she had gone through comparisons with Mariah Carey so she realises how Lara feels being compared to her. They both have passion for singing, they love it, they are hardworking, that's what I see as a common thing between 'em. As for the rest... I think the comparisons and all the negative reactions towards Lara Fabian are quite irrelevant and pointless. I don't understand how this can be possible to hate somebody who has nothing to do with you, like when people hate some particular artist. I think it's like you either like someone or you just don't give a damn for what someone does if you don't like this. At least that's how I see it, how it works for me

Of course, I understand you don't mean to start a war It's good to get an OPINION and your opinion makes sence, that's great cuz there are so many Celine's fans out there that blindly hate Fabian whatever she does. That's creepy and beats the crap out of me, cuz if someone has so much hatred for somebody who's FAR AWAY trying to make some music, can you imagine what attitude they could have for someone they know in person?? I don't think Lara's obsessed with Celine, I think she's just the fan who loves the singer. I think Celine's fans are obsessed with the idea that Lara's a copycat. Cuz whatever Fabian does, some people would still say she copies Celine, this is insane I wish Celine recorded an album like Lara's "Every Woman In Me". Really looking forward to the new album. It's called 'Le Secret' and rumors have it that it's gonna have 17 songs and some interludes.

I love how she always make a complete project of her albums.

Like she did with '9' releasing it with a DVD with clips of almost every song along with a super audio CD.

 

And how she did Mademoiselle Zhivago with a concert DVD to go with it.

Even better news: the movie that was supposed to go with it will finally be released in May!

I must say, I really love this song, and especially its message! I am glad that she is putting equal rights & acceptance for gays and lesbians in the spotlight this way.... hopefully she can make some differance in Russia too!

 

the style of the song really reminds me of Pure and Nue! I can't wait for the new album to come! I preordered it already

After listening to Le Secret for a few days now I can say that this is among her best work. It's up there with Nue. It has great atmosphere, is cohesive (something I always appreciate) and is masterfully produced.

Standout tracks for me are Un Ange Est Tombé, Mon Desir, Amourexique, Le Secret, Que j'etais Belle and the first single Deux Ils Deux Elles. The lyrics of most songs are very good and Amourexique is just a little masterpiece.

 

Best album of the year so far.
