Ooooh too bad she didn't do Il Est Lune... it is a wonderful song and also one of my favs of the album (and one of the best performances from that night I saw!) I am happy you had a great evening!

 

Did anyone get that new release yet? I saw it at Fnac but I didn't buy it...

I got the new release today as a Christmas present! :clap:

 

The DVD is really brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!! Especially the concert,

It's an unplugged concert, very intimate in a studio with only a small audience.

She sings some of her biggest hits like Je Suis Malade and Je T'aime. But she also sings Bridge Over Troubled Water and Imagine.

A must have for every fan!

If it is an Engish concert, I'd love to go... if it is just part of this tour, I'm ok lol

Luxembourg: Lara Fabian cancels tour

 

Belgian superstar Lara Fabian, who represented Luxembourg in Dublin in 1988, decided to cancel her world tour promoting her latest effort Le secret due to health problems.

 

Several weeks ago, Lara Fabian suffered from a severe acoustic shock injury during a rehearsal. The shock provoked an important inner ear dysfunction making it very painful and almost impossible for the diva to sing live.

After a series of 23 self-torturing concerts in 7 different countries in Europe and Northern America, the singer finally took the very difficult but wise decision to cancel the rest of her 150-date world tour to give herself a chance to recover as soon as possible.

In a message posted on her official website, the singer apologized to her fans and her staff, and promised to come back stronger with brand new songs.

On my ticket for Munich it says "French pop chansons". So I guess she will perform almost only French songs.....if the shows in Germany are still going to happen. So far I've got no info about cancelling this show

I just read about this on a bulgarian website. Sounds serious, they say she might lose her hearing. Hope things get better.

Yeah, that was really serious and totally frustrating for her. She took a break during her tour for like a few weeks to give rest to her voice and then got back to stage but shortly after she said she couldn't keep singing normally that it was getting harder and harder and once she went on touring she could lose her hearing... So she had to cancel. I love Lara very much and I had been fortunate to see her before the tour was cancelled. And I wanted to see her again but oh well... I just hope she gets better.

Yeah, i noticed that too :) Well, I think this kind of raspyness comes from the same place where Celine got her raspyness for WAAF :) I don't think it has to do smth with her health issues, Lara happens to be purposely raspy once in a while here and there... And 'La vie est la' is a beautiful song :)

 

Watch this :wtf: :giggle: I love Lara but sometimes watching lives like this one I actually realise why sometimes she's given hard time being called loony Lara... :sofunny: Especially the ending :wacko: I guess the weed was great :hmm: :sofunny:

OMG, 'Tango' is one of the BEST song songs she has ever recorded, this song is everything - beautiful, sexy, somewhat erotic yet melancholic, a bit crazy, simply fantastic :)

 

I hope she's getting better. She's one of the best that rarely found in this era.

 

Oh yes, you're absolutely right. She's not really a sweetheart among Celine's fans cuz many tend to think she's kind of a copycat but i love it when i see a positive response to Lara from Celine's fans :) So let's hope she gets better soon :)

Not yet but she starts touring this autumn :) New dates added for this autumn. I do hope she's much better :unsure: :)

I was thinking of going to see her in Dusseldorf, but the tickets are so expensive! 40 up to 80!! damn! I wonder if she can sell out, cos is she even known in Germany!?!

 

If I knew what she would play, I'd might have gone, but now... it's a bit too far away and too expensive :(

Davey, Lara is not known in Holland, she NEVER EVER came here! Although she can speak Dutch and did some promotion here. She ones had an interview with Ivo Niehe partly in Dutch, and I really couldn't believe what I was hearing!

Lara was huge at some point here in Brazil because of Love by Grace, but I guess people kinda forgot her now. It's been years since I've seen or heard anything about her in the media.

 

I'll probably go look for some of her new songs after finding this thread.

Yup it's a big shame!! I don't understand why she never gave a real concert here, or even played a free music festival or something! She really missed the boot on this one! But I think that there are enough Dutch fans to fill the Concert Gebouw for instance in Amsterdam...

 

There's also an interview with Cor Bakker and she did the Staatsloterijshow too, where she lipped Loved By Grace.

Back in the day, I guess around 2000, a lot of people here in Brazil used to mistake Lara for Celine and vice versa. :laugh:

Lara is popular here in the Netherlands among true music lovers.

Till last year most of her albums could be found in CD-shops here.

A concert in a small venue would sell here, I believe.
