Hi Guys

 

I have not got alot of info. and cannot answer any questions on this topic, at the moment.....

But I have been asked to find out what fans on this board, would like to be on a Greatest Hits album.

 

Please have a really good think, before posting the 16 tracks, that you would like to see on this album!!

 

This topic is more of a poll than a discussion, so please, only post the the 16 tracks of your choice as you reply.

Well I like to see a Number 1 cd from her!! (if I had to choose a greatest hit...cos rather I'd see a best of 2002-2008! not another ATW!!!) and a number 1 hits cd would be better to market then another greatest hits! *cough* even though it resembles MC though *cough*

 

These songs were number one somewhere at some point in time! Now I think that that's something to celebrate with a greatest hits!! not something like the Japanese best of... which is like ATW, but only a few recent so called singles were added!

I've had a rethink sorry.... it has to be mainly songs shes had hits with over the years but you can have one or two songs that were not released apparently, but think of it, in the way that, its a tracklist that would please everyone and not just ourselves, if it were on sale

1) Is it about an english greatest hits or can it include other songs in other languages?

2) have the songs to be exactly "hits" or its about a compilation like they did for TCSV.1 (which included some unknown songs that were never played at the radios)?

 

Well I leave you 2 tracklists then! (And please tell Sony BMG that we are waiting to see continued The Collectors Series with a Volume 2!! )

 

"Best Of" setlist (exclusively english songs). Its VERY difficult to create a tracklist for another best of, especially when she haven't had any more "hits" since 2003 and since we already have 2 good ones (All The Way and TCSV.1). So I've thought in not repeating what we already have on the stores

On one hand I would like to discard most of the 'hit' songs that were already on "All The Way...", but that won't be possible. In my opinion, Sony should release an English version of "On Ne Change Pas", so a 2-disc "Best of-" release (possibly with multiple versions).

 

For a "Greatest Hits" album, I reckon this should be the tracklist (in no particular order)..

02. Think Twice

03. The Power Of Love

04. To Love You More

05. Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore

But that's why its different a tracklist for a "GREATEST HITS" (which is supposed to include just "hits" or popular songs) than a compilation like they made with TCSV.1 or a "BEST OF", which includes both hits and some other unknown songs I personally prefer the second option, a second volume of TCS of course I think people need another best of, unless it can beat All The Way (and that just wont happen!)

 

So I think the best is to release the second volume for TCS, I think the time has arrived (enough) since 2000!!

So please release this but with a TWO written on the cover!! (and a new picture of course )

That's a grrreat idea Davey! So if its true that Sony you are reading this thread, PLEASE do something good for Céline at least once: whatever tracklist you decide, please do a good work with the cover and booklet artwork, and using the unreleased pictures from All The Way and A New Day Has Come photoshoots is not a bad idea at all!!

the problem is that up to song number 12, only a few songs could pass as hits, so i don't know if it is a good idea to release a greatest hits package. Maybe an unreleased songs cd would be better, but in the end, whichever is released i will surely be buying it!

Indeed, however this seems to have a more Best Of theme to it rather than a Greatest Hits, since a greatest hits themed album would go mainly by single sales....

 

I would like to add I Surrender to your list of hits since 2002, since even though it wasn't ever released as a single, it still was GREATLY appreciated by fans and even got some public attention on televised talent shows and similar. That is a rare thing, I Surrender is a hit even without ever being released as single.

That's right But Sony has proved to have the perfect brain for not releasing a song as single even when it is having succes by popular acclamation . It just can happen this way again, but Sony will be prepared to release the less recommended and radio friendly song in the album.

well these are not in any order. But honestly the "greatest hits" or "best of" is normally a longer cd with like 20+ tracks so it was hard to choose. I think she should do one in English and French and include both in the greatest hits or best of Album if she were ever to make one.

Definetly yes! Another greatest hits today will only force to release an All The Way part II plus three songs, like I've said, ANDHC, I'm Alive and IDAN. That's ridiculous, because I'll prefer to stick with All The Way then, which on the other hand, it won't be beaten by another greatest hits album today because sales of All The Way are still very good

 

Sony Music: a "best of" is the best to do if you want to release a good product!. And you have the chance to release then the second volume of "The collector's series" that you started in 2000... and up today it hasn't had any more sequels
