The thing is, She's singing quite beautifully, but I hear the "classical celine" with this nasal voice she's referring to since having issues. While when she wants to mimic and show how she was singing nasal, it's just not that wtf.gif

Listening to the Podcast from Adrienne and man the twins just like RC has had to grow up so fast. First having to see their father dying and then pass. Then now this. So happy all of them are happy and doing good.

It's interesting note that she could tell the difference in her voice just as much as the fans could. I forget which song she was singing in the interview, but she went through all the different pronunciations and you could really tell the difference. I guess how much she can return to "classical Celine" is an open question. But it sounds like she's still very capable of changing technique and extremely determined, even at 56 and with her current voice.

I loved that they ordered things chronologically in this interview. That helps the non-Celine fans keep up with everything so much easier.

I noticed the editing in the Hoda interview seemed choppy and awkward. Honestly, rewatching it it’s quite unbearable. Add to that the closeups of Hoda making weird performative faces, like she’s more concerned about how she looks on camera than asking intelligent questions.

The CBC interview is much, much better. Not only does it flow in a more comprehensible way, I happen to like Adrienne’s personality a lot more.

Want to tell Celine we do not have right to "all the expectations". You have given so much and as Adrienne said we will take any version, we will be there supporting you and cheering you on.

Yes, having a real journalist makes a load of difference. The Today Show correspondents are meant to be like personable next door neighbours who have license to fawn on TV. I also prefer the CBC interview, but it's nice we have multiple flavours to choose from. The promo is promo-ing!

It's absolutely remarkable. That's beyond everything else what I admire the most. How she consider her voice as an instrument how a technician she is.

I got it wrong when I said that 2008 corresponds to when her voice changed. Indeed it was from her first residency in Vegas in 2003/2004, when we really observed this switch in her voice. Exactly what she is talking about, this muffled nasal tunnel, this voice blocked in upper thin notes. And I think it got somehow better then even if it was always there.

And yes, the question is how much she can go back to the origin, I mean including the normal ageing. Or just go back to her capacities from before 6 years ago which would be already amazing, or in between ?

Honestly I'm still not having it about her return, It a progressive disease first, and then, from her own explanation, choose or words and temporality. I don't understand how it could be possible. Let's see, I really hope to see her back of course.

Very basically also, just in term of marketing if a date was already in the pipeline, her narrative would be different, she would use different words, she wouldn't use the present, she would make things clearer on how she is now able to have an almost normal life thanks to medicines, she would try to reassure people so that they feel comfortable to come. That's not exactly what she's doing. It's maybe just not the time yet even if they are closer to a date.

I love how she really explained what they and she did to sing on stage.

Also the Unchained Melody part.

Normally she doesn't talk that much about her vocals and the techniques that she uses.

And here we thought she was just being lazy while singing, but it was all on purpose!

Her voice now is better than it’s sounded in ages… so hopefully that means in addition to the vocal therapy paying off means, Celine is getting better with treatments. Obviously, no shade, it’s because of the SPS, But the courage era Celine was singing her way Through interviews and when it was the last time we heard her sound this is good?

Yes for me her voice had gotten higher during these times and I was like what happened, but now know why.

Why the F is team Celine socials in a deep sleep? They’ve been silent since the trailer dropped. Did the grandma intern forget the password again?

Yes, it's progressive. It was scary to hear how some people start medications that no longer work. But I also don't think anyone has ever had the $$$ that Celine has and the huge array of therapies that become so holistic. As she said, mental/spiritual/vocal/physical/medical....she's employing every facet of healing.

I am curious what drugs she's on now and if she's doing the IVIG therapies. I wish they would ask that directly in one of the interviews...because I imagine it's primarily the drugs that are doing most of the work to make her even be able to appear before us again like this.

Edit: btw...for me, the purest vocal era of Celine is like 1990-1992 and 1996. Her incredible abilities were there, but her tone and pronunciation were cyrstal clear and the nasality was minimal. If we had to define a "Classic Celine" that might be it for me. But I still love all of her eras, more or less.

She is, once a week. She talked about it in the Hoda podcast.

she sang nasal in 2003:07 because of all the shows probably. Outside of Vegas she was less nasal except Today Show 2007. In early 2008 she sounded more like 2002 until May. South Africa in particular was better than even 2008.

I wonder if that reason she went from 3 weeks to every week means that hers is more progressed? And can it stop working the IVIG?

Okay, that's good to know. I haven't read the People thing or listened to the podcast yet, so thank you.

There are, like, 5 different People things! Hard to keep track.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing yesterday. Is it because she progressed? Did they up the frequency to help her cope with the press tour? Is it preventative?

From what I've read about other SPS patients, once / week seems like a lot. But it could also be function of the fact that she can afford it more than most.

Yes but if that’s the case, I wonder if there’s any answers about the IVIG when administered often if it can stop working due to the body getting used to it? So many questions.

Loved this interview! This interview was even more personal, more emotional than the one with Hoda. More focused on "us". :wub2: A bit more footage from the doc, but not too much. Also topics that had not been discussed with Hoda, such as the reports that Céline was dead. I think it's good that she talks about it so openly. The dark side of fame and what effect it has on her family.

May 21 according to this

https://www.tvanouve...a---celine-dion

Both Adrienne Arsenault and Jean-Philippe Dion interviews on that day

Oh that was a month ago. So, the Hoda interview was the latest? I believe the leaked image of Hoda and Celine was in the end of May

I believe People said that their picture was taken on May 21, which means that the Hoda interview was also May 21, which means that everything was shot on the same day.

I loved that even when she was purposefully trying to imitate her nasal singing she was still not managing to sound anywhere near as nasal as she did in the last years before the pandemic. It was really quite pleasant actually. She sounds like her old self again.

What I understood from what Céline said is that they were doing once every 3 weeks pre-pandemic, then they stopped everything, and now it’s once a week. Doesn’t necessarily make sense given that they didn’t know about SPS back then but that’s what Céline made it sound like, it could just be one of those many things they tried.

I don't think she was getting these treatments pre-pandemic. They came after covid started and was weaned off the valium. At least that is my interpretation. That part was confusing on what and when she stopped and changed to other medicines.
