Does anyone have access to how many playlists the remix is on for Spotify? It will only do so well if its not included on any big playlists Edited by DCCeline

Go to The Jammin Kid’s page on Spotify and it’ll show you all the playlists the song is on, since he only has the one song. Look under both the “Featured” and “Discovered on” playlists.

Go to The Jammin Kid’s page on Spotify and it’ll show you all the playlists the song is on, since he only has the one song. Look under both the “Featured” and “Discovered on” playlists.

Meanwhile she is at 13.917.174 listeners.

 

So a little 160.000 listeners.

 

Not sure what they have in store, I think there were multiple remixes on the way, also the original remix version would be uploaded.

Song is being added at playlists so we'll see how that goes. On some it's in the first 5 songs so that's a good sign.

A ton of people commented online that the official version was way too fast for their liking. It was definitely leading more towards the EDM end of things, which has less general appeal. I agree that the original remix was better, but I wasn't crazy obsessed with it to begin with. But it's awesome to see that tons of people connected with it and are giving Celine another viral moment, esp. one that will translate into more streams and listeners innocent.gif

Why isn't the song on Céline's YouTube page?

 

Sony's trainee in charge of Celine's social media is drowned by work? Is he finalizing the new editing of BYLM music video for the 30th anniversary of FYI in 2 years?

 

Poor thing. I'm worried.

 

In all seriousness... I don't know what's more surreal. The vertiginous amount of time ( reminder : 17 years) we have been waiting for MV or me asking why the new remix is not uploaded after 1 week. bonk.gif

Because it’s on Majestic’s YouTube page. They did the same when Kygo remixed Whitney’s Higher Love. Everything was released through his YouTube. It wasn’t until 2021, when they added it to a re-released version of her Greatest Hits that she released the audio from her YouTube account.

Ditto! IMO a remix more oriented toward the Tropical House genre would appeal to a broader audience. The original remix was ok but the revamped one by Magestic is just meh...

I'm sorry if I'm rude but it doesn't make any sense to compare. Purpose is to spread music and make it known...Kygo is extra famous. Who is Majestic? He has 12k followers on YT. Don't you think a little help from Celine's team woud be welcomed?

 

Plus, let's face it : from 2000 until 2012, Whitney's career/image/success/discography was far from being spectacular ( and I would even extend it to "My love is your love era" in 98..it was a big success but nothing compared to the biggest hits of that period).

 

As sad/chocking/brutally honest as it might sound, one of Whitney's career peaks was after her death. And that is also why comparing with Higher Love shouldn't be valid.

 

If Whitney suddenly re-became immaculate/successfull when she passed away, good thing is that it happens.

 

But I certainly don't want Céline to die for her to embrace other successes or be treated the way she should be. Artists like her must be celebrated when they are alive.

 

So in the meantime, it's her team's job to do so , instead of "waiting" for unfortunate events to bring "naturally" light on her.

While I agree that Celine releasing the song from her YouTube account would get it more exposure, I think it’s being treated more as a Majestic release. They reached out to Celine’s team to see if they could use her vocals, but I don’t think this is something that Celine’s team planned for or initiated. It doesn’t matter if it’s a remix or a mashup, if you look at the music industry, generally the producer is credited first and everyone else is “featured.” The same goes for releases by Calvin Harris, Diplo, Zedd, etc. So, that is why it is released from the producer (Majestic’s) account. If the song blows up, then he will get the primary streams and the view count that will ultimately look good for his account.

This song has excellent replay value - I usually listen on repeat. The title is catchy as well. If Celine ever returns on stage, I hope she gives it a chance. :yes:
