I know I’ve been accused of being ‘the forum police’ but I’ve just seen a comment on Majestic’s Instagram - he posted a performance at his gig last night in Brighton, UK and a Celine fan commented on how the original mash-up was better. Majestic wrote a lengthy response on how difficult it had been to get the song passed by Céline’s Team/Sony etc. It was obvious that he was disappointed that someone would take the time to say his work wasn’t good. My question is- why do that? Why did the fan have to write that? Without Majestic the song wouldn’t have been released. Did the fan think the original could suddenly be switched for what has been released?

 

I’m ranting but it’s an example of how a few words by some idiot can just deflate someone clearly on a high after achieving a great thing.

Well some of the official releases are far worse than this one.

At least this one is sent out, added to playlists even gets played by the dj himself.

 

Tell me the last time that happened with an official remix?

But that's exactly what I mean. It they were pushing for this one, sending to radios, playlists, etc. the remix itself could have been better produced. Maybe it's me that haven't connected with it yet. Hoping for great chart performance though.

Why are they doing this? We should be happy that this remix has been released.

She is happy to feel that her music is still appreciated and she feels more than honoured.

For my part, I will thank Majestic for what he has done and apologise for some of her behaviour.

Please is more than enough. It does not represents this kind of behaviour to most of us fans, let's not make Céline feel embarrassed.

Respect for her and her career. Can this woman get what she deserves and for what she has done to us as fans.

Yeah and then fans wonder why they're not releasing new stuff and rare stuff. When they see the fans can't even support a thing that has gone viral, that they as a company are supporting by sending it to radios and multiple playlists on streaming platforms, and that has more potential than pretty much anything since ashes to get some nice numbers...

 

Criticism is okay but the support from fans is important and they see they don't have that in almost anything celine releases, then don't complain.

I know many non Celine’s fans that are really enjoying this mashup

And deserves respect

My nephew just shared Jammin Kid's latest story on IG with me (which is about the success of the mash up)! He told me that his friends really like the song as well!

I think this version of the song really attracts younger people which is amazing. I hope its going to be a summer anthem!

I don't like it either, still I respect the efforts and the work that were brought into it.

I like and enjoy it, but I don’t love it. However, I can see how it’s more current to the younger generation. The divas do have the most difficult fan following unfortunately lol

Would have liked to see this uploaded by CelineDionVEVO that's got 8m+ subscribers. I am sure it would bring good numbers.

 

The official audio views stand at 35k on YT from a channel with 12k subscribers!

Meanwhile she gained almost 100.000 new listeners on Spotify!

 

The day before the release it was 13.758.981 and now it's on 13.854.680.

 

This morning she gained like 65.000 listeners.

 

So yeah let's support this song, whether you like it or not.

So a little 160.000 listeners.

 

Not sure what they have in store, I think there were multiple remixes on the way, also the original remix version would be uploaded.

Song is being added at playlists so we'll see how that goes. On some it's in the first 5 songs so that's a good sign.

Whitney's "Higher Love" remixed by Kygo was everywhere during summer 2019, it was like her biggest hit since 1999, it was a Top Ten hit in several countries and it is certified multi-platinum in several countries such as UK and USA. That's exactly what Celine needs but she won't get that with forgetable and not-so-good remixes like "Set My Heart To Fire".

Well thats your opinion that its "forgetable and not-so-good". The remix was viral on tik tok so clearly a lot of people like it.

We’ll get more official numbers later, but it looks like Set My Heart on Fire had its biggest streaming day yet on Spotify with close to 140,000 streams! :)
