My votes for “Falling Into You “:

 

• It’s All Coming Back To Me Now: I’d love to see her singing the original 7-minute version.

 

• Make You Happy: It would be really uplifting to see her singing such a cheerful song after all that’s happened in these past few years.

 

• I Don’t Know: Such an underestimated song. I know the original version is untouchable, but her vocal delivery on this one is out of this world.

 

• Call The Man: As somebody mentioned above, she really shines when she sings this song live. I’d LOVE to see a live version of this song with her current voice.

 

I actually think the translation for “I Don’t Know” is pretty good too. I love the song as a whole. As far as her English songs go, the lyrics are a bit abstract and I love having it in her catalog.

My vote for "Falling into you"

 

it's so hard to choose I mean because you loved me, falling into you, all by myself, dreaming of you, call the man... all awesome songs but I'll go with these four:

 

1. It's all coming back to me now - this song is a show in itself

 

2. Seduces me - one of my absolute favourites from this album

 

3. Make you happy - I really love the vibe

 

4. Your light - rocky Celine, I love it and it would be awesome to hear it live somehow, maybe as part of a medley

1. It‘s All Coming Back To Me Now, this is definitely one of her songs that gets the most attention.

2. Because You Loved Me, a hit in one of the many reasons some people that maybe aren’t as big of fans go to her concerts.

3. Declaration Of Love, a more uptempo song, maybe a good way to engage the audience a little more

4. Make you happy, a more up-tempo song with a positive message, this song may mean more to her now, considering what she’s gone through in the last seven or eight years.

I look through the tracklist and I just want to pick them all.

But here we go:

 

1. It’s All Coming Back to Me Now (I mean, c’mon, that song aged like wine. Hopefully we would get a full version of it after all this time).

 

2. Because You Loved Me (A Celine show without that one would cause riots, we just have to accept that. And I love it).

 

3. Declaration of Love (Because it is one of my favorite songs of Celine and it could replace RDMH and nobody would complain about it).

 

4. All By Myself (I struggle with this one but I remember the public reaction on tours after THE NOTE and it’s just overwhelming. I would like to feel that again).

Falling Into You remains the most musically diverse English album she ever recorded. I know it is classified as pop but it successfully incorporated elements of rock, country, gospel, and all songs would flow very nicely. A wide range of musical instruments were utilised too; piano, guitar, saxophone, violin, percussion instruments. Makes me wonder why they never took a similar approach to her recordings. Other albums have offered some musical diversity but not to the extent that FIY did IMO.

Falling Into You, A New Day Has Come, and Taking Chances are probably going to be the three that I have the hardest time only picking 4 songs from. So after lots of consideration, I landed with the following 4 for Falling Into You:

 

1) It's All Coming Back To Me Now - It's a staple for a reason and it's such a mood.

 

2) All By Myself - Because THE NOTE. I know it's been sung ad nauseum these past years but I think it really endears Celine to her fans and beyond because we've all had loss in our lives and Celine exemplifies this in the song.

 

3) Because You Loved Me - Honestly, I think some of us here are sick of this song HOWEVER there's a reason she keeps it. And, honestly, I love it because I think after the first cancer scare with Rene she stopped singing it and she SANG it. It wasn't just a song anymore, it was a personal statement to her fans about our undying love for her.

 

4) Declaration of Love - So, honesty time: I was never into Celine's catalog when I fell in love with her via My Heart Will Go On. I knew the songs from LTAL and that was pretty much it save Because You Loved Me, IACBTMN, and Beauty and the Beast. So, when I saw her live in 1999 on the LTAL tour, this kickstarted my love for her other albums and I was off and running. That, and we apparently - desperately - need an uptempo!

Talking about the up-tempos of the album I voted for DOL because I think RDMH has been performed so many times. Also MYH could have been a fun reggae track but the chorus becomes too pop and the song kind of loses its appeal. YL was never an option either as I find it tuneless! Haha, only ballads got chosen for The Colour Of My Love. As I already wrote, Misled is one of my favourite uptempo songs and I think it would have deserved to get chosen. But after all, she is the queen of powerful ballads!

 

Here comes my top 4 for Falling Into You:

 

1. If That's What It Takes (Can't help, it's my favourite song from the album - I prefer listening to this English version since I don't understand French)

2. Because You Loved Me (it's an iconic song)

3. It's All Coming Back to Me Now (its powerfulness amazes me every time)

4. Declaration Of Love (one of my favourite uptempo songs as well)

If you listen to the melody of the chorus for MYH, it actually matches the melody of the instrumental intro. I think it flows nicely in that aspect.
