note: a young songwriter named Peter Zizzo wrote two songs on the album - Misled & Only One Road ... those are both such amazing songs. It would've been nice if he wrote more for Celine over her career (he also wrote Love Is On The way & helped her out with Don't Save It All For Christmas Day).

My picks for The Colour Of My Love

 

The Power Of Love - yes I am sick of this song being performed at concerts. It's overplayed, it might be a bit schmaltzy, but hell this song propelled Céline's career to a new level! It really placed her between Mariah and Whitney. I liked how Mego made the TPOL/IACBTMN medley. When this song comes up in concert, you cannot do anything but fall for it again!

Think Twice - a huge huge hit in Europe. I think this was the first time I was kind of aware of Céline Dion. Love the pop/rock sound, that fits Céline so well. And who can so no to so many no's?!

I Remember L.A. - I love the built up of this song, to me this always was a better song that Next Plane Out. It would be so haunting hearing it live!

The Colour Of My Love - Céline and René's wedding song, such a huge song in her personal life. The ultimate love song! I was soooo amazed she brought it back in 2017!! Such a shame it got dropped at one point. But most important of all, we played this song our wedding after we exchanged our rings.

Voting is so diverse this week... Good to see so many songs being supported..! To me TCOML is one of her best albums ever.

 

IMO only area of improvement are the up/mid-tempo songs, specifically Real Emotion, Loving Proof, NLWLY. The lyrics are super cheesy and repetitive. No wonder she never did anything with them. By contrast the storytelling in some of the ballads is exemplary... Think Twice, Only One Road, I Remember L.A., Next Plane Out, Just Walk Away - these are all gems in her discography

• It’s All Coming Back To Me Now: I’d love to see her singing the original 7-minute version.

 

• Make You Happy: It would be really uplifting to see her singing such a cheerful song after all that’s happened in these past few years.

 

• I Don’t Know: Such an underestimated song. I know the original version is untouchable, but her vocal delivery on this one is out of this world.

 

• Call The Man: As somebody mentioned above, she really shines when she sings this song live. I’d LOVE to see a live version of this song with her current voice.
