I don’t speak French, but for what I can tell from others fans in here and on Twitter, her sister not even said what the media is putting out. She didn’t said Celine’s situation was worsening, she was generally talking about a disease that makes you lose muscle control. But some news outlet translated badly and it was replicated by others.

 

And the fact that some of the media contacted her team and got a “no comment” response, really puts fire on the whole thing.

 

It’s complicated cause I don’t want to say Celine is in anyway obligated to give us information about her health, but then again, if the rumors (can we call that? expectations, maybe?) of her coming back next year are true, I see no reason why they can’t just let us know everything is fine. It’s confusing.

 

Claudette should just keep her mouth shut if all she has to say is some generic bullsh*t that only adds speculation. She’s a media whore, who has been unsolicitedly opening her mouth on behalf of Celine for decades.

 

I don’t think Celine’s team has physically given a “no comment” response. They just haven’t returned communication yet. Very different things.

I can understand them not wanting to respond to claims, however the claims are coming from her sister… that warrants a response… it doesn’t even have to be a detailed one, they could just say, “Celine is still working on her health and is making progress but we opt to not give further details at this time”.

 

Rene would’ve known how to handle a situation like this, but now it’s a bunch of bafoons running the show.

It is everywhere. My mom even recorded Inside Edition that had a segment on it for me. I had to explain that it is not true and they are taking things out of context. It really is insane how much traction this is getting.

I think this group is WAY too hard on Claudette. She’s a minor celebrity in Quebec in her own right (obviously extremely minor compared to Celine), but she does have a career. She performs, and she needs to do promotion, which necessarily involves contact with the media. And of course every journalist asks her about Celine - which really must be maddening, if she’s trying to talk about her own work - but she always answers graciously, never gives away anything super private. If she were to answer questions with “sorry no comment” or “I can’t talk about that,” it would be worse, and anyway that’s not the Dions’ style. Claudette is caught between a rock and a hard place in this. And it’s even worse with the mistranslations and clickbait headlines.

 

None of us have any idea what their sibling relationship is like and I think it’s best to stop speculating.

yeah , there is a difference between

de tous ses muscles and ses muscles

 

looks like someone translated it that way (intentionally or accidentally) and it snowballed from there....

 

That is what they did last time too…intentionally mistranslated her and people thought no medication was working or whatever it was. The media does not €do their job.

This is true. No matter how well-intentioned Claudette may be, if the person of topic herself isn't speaking about her own illness, maybe take a hint she doesn't want it discussed or speculated on? The above is the perfect reply, concerned but respectful.

lmao.. I'm not familiar with her career that far back, aside from this hair comment (which I'll give the benefit of the doubt is misinterpreted from a personality maintaining a recognizable public image lol) how else has he shown contempt for fans for decades?

I may be be wrong, but even when René was around, their approach was to leave Claudette to her own devices, going by the past mentions that Claudette has been doing this stunt forever for the attention. Maybe TC is worried (then and now) that if she's explicitly told to zip it, Claudette will run to the press to cry about being told to shut up and is being exiled from Céline's life, plus all the imagined melodrama of a family feud

We will get a message don't worry about that. We will get a message saying that she missed us, telling us to take good care of our health, to stay safe, love one another, have a great holiday and that she hopes to see us soon, kisses.

 

But I don't understand why so much fuss about this 'news'? Isn't her syndrome exactly that anyway? Random muscles' spasms that she can't control? She herself told us a year ago that she isn't able to control her muscles and she works very hard to manage her SPS, so why Claudette saying pretty much the same thing became so newsworthy? And what Celine or her team is supposed to respond to that? They already told us. But truth is that nobody cares about the good news, they all want the schocking value, the drama, the demise and the horrific stories. If news outlets actually cared about her health, we would have had articles showing her dancing at Katy Perry's show. In the end, no matter what she says, as long as she doesn't perform, give interviews, go outside, or post fun stuff on social media, people will stick to the narrative they want and the narrative that sells the most.
