So I recently saw the current Broadway revivals of Sweeney Todd (with Josh Groban) and Funny Girl (with Lea Michelle), and wonderful as they were, it just made me sad. Kept thinking of Céline and how she should be on stage. Damn this disease.

Yeah exactly. If there wouldn't be hope and Celine herself being positive somehow, she and her team would have told the world. I never thought and I don't think at all that she won't be on stage again someday, maybe next year or in a couple of years

Does that make you a particular friend. I am sure they know each other, just never really heard Celine mentioning hanging out with her or speaking regular on the phone etc. At the end of the day Celine has met and worked with a lot of people.

Their interaction at the Juno’s that one year when they presented together also came off as more than just 2 industry people doing an appearance together. They come off as friends. Why is that so hard to believe???

Well she doesn't tend to have that many celebrity friends. I am not saying they don't know each other I have just never heard Celine mention their particular friendship in interviews etc.

Journal de Montreal is not a right wing journal. It is more nationalist , they have columnist who wants to protect the french language . And don't want religion in the public space. If this is being right wing for you, then so be it. The interview with Barnev is true, why would they invent things. What Barnev have been told by Celine's clan is another story. I think most of us are well aware of just how serious the situation is. It's a truly atrocious disease. On the other hand, it's all the more important not to give credibility to the media which feeds on the suffering of others, violating their right to privacy at a time when they are most vulnerable. There is no justification for such behavior and no "curiosity", however apparently benevolent, should be accepted. So for me, the problem is not "are they telling the truth or not", but rather "should interest be given to such a periodical that deserves to be ignored and despised". That's why the best we can do is wait for the moment when (if ever) Céline herself is ready to share what she's going through, and in the meantime, give her all our support through every available channel - thought, prayer or her social media.

With the risk of sounding like a lunatic, this news quite threw me. And it feels like this is happening to a close family member. Céline is part of my life now for 26 years now, so more than half my life! I care deeply for her and all I want is for her to be healthy and happy. This is not something I would have ever considered happening in Céline's life and it shows once again you got to count your blessing each day, cos you never know how the next day will be. I know she gets the best treatment there is. But does she also get the best emotional treatment. It must be so hard for her right now to deal with this without René or her mom. And it's not fair to ask the same emotional support from your children. My heart really aches for her and I hope that whatever the outcome is, she will still have a happy and long life.

Okay this is the way I have processed the situation in the passed months. Yes it's a debilitating illness. Yes it impacts every part of her life. Yes there is no cure. But the severity varies for each person. If she can't withstand a full concert, maybe she can still do single performances or make talk show appearances that are pre-taped, so if she does start to spasm they can stop taping until she can resume. She might be able to still record albums because they can stop and give her a break. The point to this post is that she may never be able to do things they way she used to, but there are other ways she MIGHT be able to do at least some things she used to. And there's always acting or even writing. Only Celine herself knows her body and what she can truly withstand. I'm a Cerebral Palsy sufferer, and trust me, doctors don't know everything. It's not their body. So until Celine herself tells us her career is over, I am not giving up on her remaining in the celebrity industry in some way.
