Well, they sure have been very active deleting 60% of the content on her account. wacko.png

 

Is the deletion still ongoing? I thought they deleted some stuff and then restored some stuff, but I haven't been following all the way.

That was an intense documentary. A rollercoaster of emotions. I feel bad being so harsh on her expecting them "shiny apples". What a trooper. Love Again has a whole new meaning to me now! Edited by Macaronie

400+ posts still gone, they deleted 420 or so and only restored a few.

Does anyone know how folks got tickets to the NYC premiere? It seemed like members of the public were seated next to celebrity guests and other hosted attendees?

 

p.s. it seems all the influencers who were paid to go were paid just to post their outfits from the red carpet and make one IG story afterwards lol...easy gig for them

Exactly. Seems she keeps very private even to those close. Like how did they not see the taking of the cocktail of medications as well.

 

I thought Love Again was recorded in 2023 weren't they still filming then?

It was filmed in early 2021, iirc.

No recording the song. Was that not in Jan 2023? I remember a tweet from someone in the studio with her.

Sorry found it and that was voice over in French for Love Again in Jan 2023.

 

So then was her recording the song Love Again basically at the end of her filming with Irene?

There was much more of a focus on Celine the person losing her perfect instrument than Celine the artist conquering the pop music world. There was a lot of juxtaposing where she is now vs where she was. I was expecting something that non-fans would watch and fully appreciate the career and accomplishments of this woman, but it turned out to be exactly what Celine has called it: a love letter to the fans. I still think non-fans could watch this and appreciate the vulnerability she is displaying as the biggest voice of our time, but there is so much nuance they will miss by not knowing her the way we do.

This is what the celinaissance is all about. The perfection in imperfection. three dimensional, glorious and yet at times painful. Céline was never a caricature that lives in illusion, she lives with depth and gets moved by the beauty around her whether it’s big or small, the grand or mundane. She’s an artist and will always work to be the best that she can be no matter what it takes. Her whole life has always been fighting through the impossible and like she says “she won’t stop, she can’t stop”

How would you rate it?

1-10?

 

 

I would say a solid 8. I think it captures Céline at her most honest.

 

My two criticisms: (they’re not spoilers, just observations on the narrative )

 

1: concert footage at times, felt like it was distracting from the narrative feel of the doc. I think it was meant as a device to help “rip open” the facade of “Céline Dion” and also connect Célines personality and reality into song, but at times, it felt too glossy for the overall visual aesthetic of the film, but that’s just me. I did like the older rarer footage so it might also be that some of it looked too familiar to me. It might help the average non fan understand her through her music though. I like the song choices and they’re not all what you expect, but will they be on the soundtrack? If I’m gonna invest in another album, include every song that’s playing!!! Not just the greatest hits…

 

2. I wish it was longer. Like, I know we are only seeing a short snippet of her life but I wish we saw a bigger contrast of her journey. Maybe if the doc captured 2-3 years of her life, it would show more of a time progression. Sometimes, I wasn’t sure where we were in the film, and certain scenes might have made more sense if it was focused on that particular moment from beginning to end.

 

 

But these are all minor. I still loved the film and it really shows her at her realist.

On a serious note, I hope her band family, especially the long term ones, have shown her their support for this project, by attending or in other ways. They're a big part of what she misses the most.

well, he might eat his words right now. He said he isn’t even interested in working with Celine anymore and that he has moved on.

 

He probably thought she might not return now he’s seeing how tough the world is and how working with Celine is a consistent paycheck or it was at least. I’d imagine Celine’s return to the stage taking a minute still won’t only be due to her voice and health but the logistics of seeing who comes back, who doesn’t and the possible open auditions to replace members if they choose to or need be. Nearly 5 years is a long time away.

The complexity of Celine Dion, and the complexity of Show business at this level.

We thought that Celine was different, couldn't be Whitney or Jackson and many others. But the Show must go on mantra isolates and kills, whoever you are it seems. I have always felt that it was Rene and Celine's fault for isolating to some extent the "open book" was very guarded, a facade. I understand though. Who knows how many times she had been betrayed. "Friends" leaking information has been known to happen.
I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.
