She actually sang the the whole song at the recording, that's not why she did 3 takes. NBC edited it terribly.

 

She did 3 takes because that's usually the standard when recording for television/film. She had to restart one of the takes like twice because she couldn't get the "I try" part (not because of vocal issues).

 

Would have been amazing if she sang Thankful and then Imperfections but since she could only do one I'm glad she chose a new one off her new album.

 

Ah okay.... with "them", I did mean NBC. But I thought maybe she also sang an edited version of the song and because of that she was kinda lost.

Takes away the magic of the song (and the only promo performance during the 'Courage' era [for now]).

I think that Scott is more than willing to change many things, but she won’t let him. She wants to stick to the old and tested formula

 

I really don’t think that she ‘wants’ to stick with the same old tried and tested formula, after all she hasn’t with her new music. Recording wise, she’s gone all in this time with a new approach which is something they couldn’t quite commit to last time round with LMBTL and I do think that was a lot to do with Rene not wanting to upset the old fan base, bless him.

 

Where live shows are concerned, I believe it’s because she knows what her audience wants. She can obviously sense the dip in the audiences reactions whenever she starts to sing new/unknown songs because it does happen, I’ve witnessed it first hand several times. Although, I imagine the more she sings them the more the fans will grow to love them but I don’t know if she realises this. She maybe just needs a gentle nudge.

Totally agree. It happened with River Deep, Mountain High in 2007 and it happened again more recently with Tous Les Blues Sont Écrits Pour Toi. Since she surprisingly added that song to her 2016 Summer Tour, it's become a showstopper in her concerts.

 

She's got so many songs with big potential, all she needs to do is give them a chance...

I think this performance was very OK!

 

She sang LIVE, she did it very fine! And she looked supernice. Love that she's flirting with her past symbols - a backward dress + heart of the ocean inspired earring.

She sang the song perfectly 😍 (odd for Imperfections 😆)

 

I was afraid she could be off as it is her first TV of the song and did practise it during the concert before. And even if is not a big voicy song, the melody does not seem that easy.

 

So, very happy of her performance: very fluid and pitch perfect.

It was great to see her bring some class and talent to the Macy’s parade. Sucks she got flack for being the only LIVE performance at the whole show. She messed up

The last lyric “if I’m gonna trust you, I need to learn to love myself” 😂.

 

If only she could have performed at the upcoming NBC Rockefeller center tree lighting show like she did for taking chances, she could have received MORE promo!

I would have to disagree with the reasoning. Boring setlists weren't megos fault.

I can't believe they actually cut part of her song for the broadcast.

 

Most acts are only shown for about 30-45 seconds. The time they gave Celine was quite generous. But they had to cut the song as there is way too much to cover during this parade.

I don't know is she has to fire Scott Price, but she clearly hasn't find her musical Pepe as said here.The way she presents but also works on her own repertoire can still be misarable. And it's not something from now, it got even better in the last few years, like with the medley and other performances. She needs someone in her team to work on that if it can't be Scott. That's someting she's dragging from the begining, that's the saddest part in all that.

 

Scott said that they’ve listened to many many of her songs, but at the end of the day; Celine has been choosing what she wants to sing.

Well Mego ánd René's... did an interview for the Dutch fanclub ones (and talked to him multiple times in Vegas), but he said his hands were tied as René had a clear view/opinion on how the songs should sound [how people know them] and he couldn't defiate from that. So in one way, I pity him for not having that freedom Scott now has (but IMO it could be a lot more).

agreed. If it was the other way around and we were bashing a performer for being from the U.S. there would be a boycott of the entire country of Canada!!! How is it ok to crap in her for being from Canada especially since she brought so much revenue and joy to the U.S.? Its the opposite of what Celine would want - she loves all of her fans no matter where they are from! I don’t understand why people don’t understand that Celine doesn’t do these events in order to spend the holidays with her family. If she was willing to be there during the holiday she would’ve been outside with everyone else. I think this is a main reason we have never seen Celine headline the Rockin’ New Years Eve.

 

I understand why people may think she was being a “diva” performing in doors if they thought it was live, but I think most these people didn’t know this was pre recorded weeks ago.
