Celine on Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

So weird for me that people my say that some songs are not supposed to be performed live. It's just wrong. It doesn't make any sens.

Ok, her team does not seem qualified to make this kind of song sounds good live, but at first any song could, and should make it live, some songs just need some more work, for some seem it looks more obvious, natural.

 

Imperfection is not really my cup of tea, that's not what I would listen. But still I think that in term of production, it is one of the best song on the album. It's technically and artistically very well done. The whole mixing, with the incursion of the guitar gimmick, the piano, the clapping, the delicate electronic sound. All that is mixed with delicateness and minimalism, it is a real good job.

 

Imperfection has everything to make a good moment live. An acoustic version, playing with the guitar, Scott at the piano, some clapping. Or going totally into the modern vibe increasing the minimalist and electroning sound, still adding some more real guitars live and the piano... Is her team motivated and qualified to do that ? I don't think, but that's another problem.

I’m sorry if my posts sound very negative. I myself am a little shocked as I’m usually super positive about Céline but it’s just my opinion.

 

"You can't believe?" Haha.. What exactly do you mean by that? You think we're making this up, our love for Imperfections? Just accept it that we love it and you don't. How would you feel if we tell you "we can't believe" you don't like Imperfection!!! I won't definitely say that to you because you are entitled to your opinion. Just as we are entitled to repeat over and over that we like Imperfections and would love it to be added on the setlist. To each his own.

And it sounds good live - although it's with a track and not her band. With her band, it might be different.

I'm glad she sung Imperfections live, it's a single - what else was she supposed to sing? But I don't think the outfit matched the song well. She should've worn something more modern, IMO.

I actually never like her studio stuff. It’s over-produced. Celine live is 100% my preference. I don’t even listen to her albums - any of them - because I cannot stand how the studio stuff sounds.

Hoping this appearance boosts her album sales among older people who still buy physical albums!

Also hoping for a big round of media picking up on this performance. People magazine, etc.

It would be WONDERFUL if people start associating this album with Christmas / buying this album as a gift for Christmas.

I'm glad she is in the show no matter what she sings. Imperfections is -I think the safest song for her to do in this type of scenario. She's outdoors, the sound probably sucks, technical issues etc. I think these types of shows are a bit of a stressful thing for performers. Would have been kick #ss if she had come out and done a song we weren't expecting from the album- like when she sang River Deep on David Letterman - I remember being like wha???? This s*** is perfect!!
