Sorry, now that I read my previous message, it seems a bit rude. Unfortunately, my English is not very strong, and sometimes I use an online translator, so it can sometimes come across as a bit rude—not because of me, but because of the way the translator renders it.

I’m now in the nothings coming camp. If there was something coming, they’d do an update which says so. We don’t need details, but the fact they’ll let this silence go on for so long is telling.

 

I find I’m visiting the forum less and less now which I’m kinda sad about. Been a member since 2007. Whilst I think her team are a disgrace, I’m disappointed in Celine too. Fully appreciate she has an illness but why isn’t she pushing the team into releasing things to keep us going. She couldn’t care less anymore, that’s the sad conclusion I’ve come to.

 

Edit - the more I think of the current situation the more annoyed I get. When things are good we buy tickets, albums, merch and all the rest. We support everything she does. It’s a two way f-ing street. Personally I think it’s disrespectful and a kick in the face to the fans who’ve supported her for so long. ‘Come see me and buy my stuff’ but when things get bad you won’t hear a peep till there’s something else to sell. Bad form.

Celine may be ill with a chronic syndrome but she’s the captain of the ship and it falls on her to make this team work for the fans. So much she could for us with a phone call and she chooses not to. I’m also checked out, Ive lost interest and to be honest I’ve made peace with it. I’ll miss her but then again she’s been missed for 5 years so it’s making it easier to accept. I refuse to be there when they want to sell stuff and then when they aren’t selling they go MIA. Shame on us for believing that we were anything to them other than their source of income. It’s a vicious cycle. Celine is AEG cash cow and we are Celine’s cash cow. Neither one able to sell us anything so they abandoned the cow. Shame on them all tbh. But it’s okay because when and if they return their will be less cows to milk, me being one of them.

I don't for a minute believe Céline doesn't care anymore. I saw her in Paris last year and that woman lives when she's surrounded by fans.

 

But I fear Scott Roeben from Vital Vegas was right last year: Céline 100% wants to come back and clings onto the belief that she can do so on her own terms while everyone else in her team is basically just humouring her (I would too btw - she sounded so depressed in the documentary when she had lost all hope).

 

You all heard her interviews, right? Did that sound like a woman coming to terms with her illness?

 

So I do think she's probably stalling on a lot of things (mostly a new album), but not because she doesn't care. She's saving everything to coincide with her 'comeback'(that may never happen the way she wants it to).

 

I'm not telling anyone to stick around. But I feel that the 'we deserve answers' mentality is not helpful. I don't think she or her team have the answers. And if they do they don't want to speak them out loud yet. You feel you deserve closure as a fan? I'm sure you'll live. But this is her life.

Clearly. We can find it s unfair but this is how it is as she is going through this disease. A lot of people are still in deny of her disease here because they see her clapping at concerts or stretching on top of the Eiffel Tower. This is exactly why Céline was hiding and she literally explained it. That fans would not understand and look our reactions. She was right.

 

We should not take her words from more than 1 year ago too literally either when she said she would be back. She is still processing this unpredictable and degenerative disease I guess. Hiding behind hopes. Her team is clearly trying to navigate without any clear direction. She is Maybe starting to process that stage is not possible but she can engage to project here and there and start some studio recording to see how it goes.

Respectfully, I agree and disagree with parts of this.

 

You could be spot on and her team don’t have answers but they could so easily pen a short update and say Celine is still working on her health and currently she is not active with anything. That’s all it takes. They made such a big deal in the doc about keeping fans in the dark but here we are again.

 

Yes, you could argue she doesn’t have to give such an update but given her status, she’s one of the most successful singers ever and it’s the fans who put her there. As I said before, it’s a two way street. Given we support everything that she does, I don’t feel it’s wrong to think we’re entitled to a short update of some sort. Im not saying we need all the detail or a definitive answer on if she’s coming back or not, but just something. You can’t expect people to invest so much money and time when things are good then live with the silence when things are not as good.

 

Your point also, we know it’s a chronic illness and yes it’s been three years. I will never downplay what she’s going through. However, we’ve had pics of her out enjoying concerts, we’ve had the makeup shoot, we’ve had the fashion show performance etc etc. I’m not saying for one second she can’t do those things, in fact I’m delighted she can. I can’t help but feel if she can do those things she can take 2 mins to record a video or post an update. That’s all I’m saying.

 

There is literally no need to keep her fans in the dark. If they don’t know what’s happening, say so. You bet your life if she came back to performing next week there’d be promo after promo to sell tickets. Why can’t they do a short update now?

 

Not only do they give no update but they let rumours and speculation get out of hand. Eurovision? That should have been nipped in the bud by her team way before the final. It’s one thing to not update, it’s another to allow the fans to get excited by rumours that aren’t true. They can control that without saying anything else but they chose not to. Dolly Parton released a video to squash all the health rumours this week and now it’s no longer a thing. Yes Celine’s illness is more serious but she’s a public figure too. Why can’t they control the narrative?

 

Appreciate we have different views on this but I’m finding it hard to overlook the way Celine and her team are handling this.

Guys, if I remember correctly (in my country, Céline is almost never mentioned, and I don’t understand why I can’t find any news about her even when I search Google for newspapers from other countries — apparently there’s a geographic block in Spain), Céline complained about the commissions agreed upon by René with AEG because she thought they were overcharging her. If those agreements were closed before René passed away, and she always trusted René, why is she complaining about them now? Wasn’t it that she always trusted René? It seems like now she’s only after the money. Can someone tell me if I’m right about those commissions being agreed upon by AEG? I know all of Céline’s last hours thanks to you guys. Because in Spain, it’s practically impossible to find information about her.

By doing those little public outings, she's letting us know that she's ok. And in a way, it's working. I know I don't worry about her the way I used to in '21/'22.

 

I do agree with everyone saying that an actual update would be very welcome, of course I do.

 

But I will challenge the assertion that she doesn't bother/isn't interested. Because I believe there's more at play. I'm pretty sure she gets questions about her health wherever she goes (because those generate more clicks). And I think she's actively avoiding to answer those questions. I can only speculate as to why. My fear is that she's still very much in the denial phase and she avoids questions because she's afraid of the answer. The woman is struggling with the loss of a very central part of her identity. I hope she is getting all the (professional) support that she needs because that cannot possibly be easy.

I wish it weren’t a misunderstanding. Anyway, it’s so sad that they don’t tell us absolutely anything about her. I’ve been listening to her less and less lately. And it’s not because I don’t like her music or find it less appealing, but because there’s nothing new to listen to or pay attention to. Her record label has become sooo repetitive after so many years without any new music… Even Courage, which is her newest album, already bores me so much… I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve listened to it… She said that all of us, as her fans, deserve an explanation, and that being hidden for so long wasn’t something she wanted for herself. I don’t understand why she’s doing it now. If she’s not ready to sing, she could do something like A New Day. Do that same residency again but with some variation. She already knows it worked—so why not do it? Since it’s also theatrical, it lets the audience not focus so much on her voice.

She actually looks so different than that shoot../ April to October I doubt it.

 

Let’s hope she shot more videos… maybe a return one? When I first saw it thought it was announce new shows. It’s the first video address we’ve seen in ages where she’s made up!
