Well, thank God someone had some sense and named her but it took 3 strikes to get to her. Linda, come on man. I mean Linda was wonderful in her time but I wouldn't say she had a "great" voice when comparing it to the likes of Whitney or Celine. People still mentioning Beyonce as a great voice???? Um nope. (just my opinion, of course) Mariah didn't make the cut hmm, I would have listed her before Dolly.

 

I do like Steve's comments when Celine was picked.

 

So Mariah was not in the list? Or because the video was cut down and didn’t see the entire list

So why was Celine given the "best-selling female artist in history" award if she is 2nd to Madonna? I know the World Music Awards had some math and reasoning?

I can’t be the only one who really misses Celine, especially around this time of year. For the first time in her career, there is so much uncertainty and we know just about nothing at this point.

 

When will we actually see a new picture of Celine just to see how she is? She must be the most guarded Celebrity. She has completely vanished. Who has the last known image of Celine? Anyway I hope she is well and getting better, enjoying time with her family.

 

I just hope she is ok. I have had this weird feeling for so long now, which I’m sure many of you have too. Just miss our queen so much …

i miss her too. It is very strange. Did we hear her voice at all in 2021? I have been A fan since 1995 and it was never this silent for so long. In about three months it wil will be two years since her last performance. I hope she is ok!

That would be interesting. I know she was gone for Rene's illness, and some of her own illnesses. And of course the births etc. But I am curious about the lengths and dates.

I think it can be viewed as a positive. Fandoms united. I don't think Celine fans have been as united in anything as this poll in a very long time. It is a positive thing, until fans go to other pages and badmouth others. No surprise that's what Mariah fans did to Celine. Of course Billboard just wants all the clicks and fandom wars to boost their money.

i think in 1999, she took 2 months (Mid April - Mid June) off shortly after Rene got diagnosed with skin cancer, she also postponed and cancelled few dates of her LTAL tour. Please correct me if i’m wrong

well, i was asking about the last 10-15 years. not sure exactly how it all went down in 1999, but i think the wikipedia page for the tour is probably accurate.

No. The way SJP tells the story - she and Celine were in the same hotel and Celine saw her, was a big fan, and pulled her into the hotel room to talk about shoes and watch episodes of SATC and SJP felt like a prisoner and didn't know how to escape the room. I remember it clearly from the time as I'm a fan of both Celine and SATC...as it aired.

They do sorta look alike, but SJP looks evil, while Céline has a kinder face.

I would love to hear these kind of stories from Celine. I know Celine does say she met this and that person but doesn't really go into much detail. Or am I wrong?

Celine Dion had cocktails with her idol Sarah Jessica Parker.

 

When the My Heart Will Go On singer discovered the Sex and the City: The Movie actress was staying in an adjacent hotel room on a recent trip to Paris, France, she immediately went to visit her.

 

Celine, 40, then invited Sarah back to her suite, where the pair watched several classic episodes of the hit US TV show on which the new movie is based, while drinking cocktails.

 

According to the Daily Star, Sarah later asked hotel managers for a room transfer to escape her over-enthusiastic fan.

 

Celine recently revealed she has something in common with Sarah’s Sex and the City character Carrie Bradshaw – they both love shoes.

 

Speaking about her hobbies, the music star said: “I own between two and three thousand pairs of shoes.”

 

Sex and the City: The Movie is released worldwide at the end of May
