Her husband died and she went back to performing the next month, went on tour the same year, AND released an album the same year. Just think for a moment and you'll be able to understand why she's taking long to release the album. Before rene passed, she wasn't in charge of all the decisions. Now? She is. This is just personal preference, but I'd prefer the album to come with as many surprises possible, not with half the songs already being heard by us because we weren't patient

 

EDIT: I'd like to add that I 100% understand why you and so many of us are frustrated with her english music career right now. But we're all experts on waiting now, so lets just be optimistic for the next few months until we (fingers crossed) have a really great new Celine era

2) Creating new music is far from an interest of her now.

 

3) She's only focused in milking the cow of her old hits wth live performances. Period.

 

Until she proves us wrong I stand by this opinion, and yes, is quite disappointing for an artist with such treasure voice to waste it like she's doing.

 

The easiest and more convenient option for her is to perform invariably and ad nauseam the same bunch of hits until forever -which is actually and basically what she's been doing since 2013, and not producing anything new nor rehearsing any new songs.

 

Vegas show with hundreds of opportunities to incorporate new songs of her catalogue became a totally wasted chance and a stagnant show, hard to see without feeling bored.

 

The few ocassions she has released new songs -Encore un soir-, she does anything with it but promoting the new songs she just recorded (the dream of any singer out there). The promotion of EUS was a joke, only two songs out of 12 were performed on the scarce TV promo she did.

 

Then zero videos.

 

Then new tours with the same songs again.

 

Then no home DVD releases, when all her buddies are releasing live CDs together with the matching DVD of the tour in the same package.

 

Disappointing? That's an understatement.

Exactly, she could have easily finished up her contractual agreements and sailed into the sunset. I know we get impatient but that's the way it is now with everything being instantly available. Anyone remember the saying, patience is a virtue? I must be showing my age.

My Ex-BF doesn't like Celine, everytime I watch or play Celine music, he always tell me he don't like her. I don't mind if somebody don't like her, and it's impossible to be loved by everyone, so I have no issue about him not liking Celine, but he keep repeating his negativity over and over again until I finally told him to shut his f**cking mouth off. It's irritating me to hear someone keep saying the same s*** like he want me to finally agree with him. It's toxic.

It shocks me to the max how a fan can count collections of songs that have been previously released dozens of times before and count them as a new release in 2017 and 2018 Here's where it becomes obvious some fans have a very different concept of "new release" and "new music" lol

 

To put it briefly, Un peu de nous and The Best So Far were such two jokes of releases, and a slap on the face to all those fans who were expecting a live CD/DVD and all they got is the original recordings from the songs (again)

 

And the slap on the face was also among the general public, who was mislead and confused with these joke-releases thinking they were getting the live shows from the tours -just read the Amazon reviews for these compilations to know what I mean.

I think the main problem/reason, why some fans here getting angry about the situation with new english music is, that I believe it´s the first album which takes that long since it´s first mention (that was in 2015 I believe), so it´s been four years. Yes we got new english songs (hymn, recovering, HDAMLF; ashes...), but none of them were associated with the new english album, which is supposed to be in the works since four years. So I can understand the frustration, can´t speak otherwise about myself sadly. But we should always remember certain things:

1. it´s her first album overall, which she decides the whole process

2. she has to deal with the loss of rene, the responsability of her career and future (as an artist)

3. she wasn´t lazy! 3 tours, multiple vegas shows, new french album, english songs...

 

Overall, maybe it wasn´t the smartest move and the best way to handle it, while mentioning the new album, before it can be said, on wich date it will be released. Otherwise actually this was the case, so they planned to release the english album in 2017 I believe...and we simply don´t know if or what was/is the reason to delay the album release on and on...but it was certainly not on celine´s side, to wait with the release that long. So hopefully it will be released finally this yearn and I´m sure it will be worth the long wait. and for the next album, maybe they should try to mention it only, when the release date (maybe also only year) is so certain as it can be, if this is possible in a way

"Current" Céline is still doing Vegas.

I like Vegas and I know I'm not alone (I relish the opportunity to see her in such an intimate setting, to be so close to her).

And I love the happiness she's bringing to the fashion world.

I adore the motherly empathy that inspired her Célinununu idea.

 

So I'm here for "Céline the person" and "Céline the entertainer".

If it were just about the music, I probably wouldn't be here anyway.

I can tolerate about 50% of her English catalogue (so not overly excited about the new album lol) and I usually prefer new covers over some cringy deep cut like LIAWN.

 

That's only to say that we all like different things and different aspects of Céline.

And if there's things we don't like, that's perfectly ok and we have every right to say so.

But maybe just say it once? Twice? Once a month maybe?

 

You know I could also make a daily posting to the ANDHC thread about how tacky I find 'Super Love', 'Sorry for love', 'WTWOLYR'...

These are just bs releases though, lets be honest. The only thing of value was the instrumental versions on Un Peu De Nous. Otherwise it's just a compilation of old songs. A live album from one of the mini tours would have been the perfect thing to release in my opinion. At least while waiting for the new English album.
