nope it's an I-phone. It didn't have headphones with it and other people also said it was an I-phone. Also Celine has mentioned that RC has a cellphone before.

Who cares if RC has more toys or an iphone? He lives a very different live from most normal children. His parents/family are away from him a lot, hence the phone...plus iphones have a lot of other uses that could keep him busy on a plane or in the car...whatever. In the La Semaine article it says that RC doesn't really have very many friends because of his celeb status. He only really talks aunts and uncles etc...no one really his own age. So let him have extra toys. And it's not like he's just a child who sits around and plays with his toys all of the time, he's very smart for his age. Knows more than one language, is above his level in math (As Celine said on tour). I'm also sure Celine has taught RC a lot about giving to charity, that's a big part of who she is. And if he is raised to grow up believing everything will just be handed to him...well it sort of will be. He's friggen rich!

I still think that it is a sad statement that he doesn't have any friends, I doubt he knows how to interact well with other children. She said he rarely see's his cousins so what children his age are there for him to play with? from what I see none, that makes me sad, it really does. I feel sorry for the little guy he is treated like an adult, and always around them he doesn't know what its like to be a kid or be treated like one.

It is sad, and I think the parents know that. Maybe that's why Vegas is such a good option for them. The article also said though that he was starting school in flordia...so maybe he'll meet friends there. It's probably hard as child, but it will be easier as he gets older. It just comes with the terroritory of being rich/famous. I'm sure it's not all that sad though. He has a huge family, and he traveled the entire world...something people only dream of doing...and once he gets older, I'm sure it'll be easier to make friends and he'll still be able to do whatever he pleases. Start his own business go to whatever college...yaddy ya ya. He can even marry my daughter when I have one one day .... :P

I hope he does well socially in school, especially because I have a feeling he'll be teased about his long hair :ermm: I used to think when he was little like two and three that he needed it cut because he looked to much like a girl but I think if they cut it now he wouldn't look like RC so Celine no cutting! :nono:

correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't there a quote from Celine in an article or statement where she was talking about the world tour taking chances and said they did it because the house in Florida wasn't done yet and she said hey lets go tour the world until it's done? I KNOW I read that somewhere on the forum, can someone tell me if I'm right or not? and if possible a link to the topic that was in... Edited by Belle Céline

Does anyone know which performance the one from 3:40-4:02 is from. Additionally, does anyone have a full performance of it (posted on here in download section, on youtube, or saved on your comp.). I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Full transcript of Celine Dion’s "Take a Kayak" on CNN with Larry King

One of the greatest moments in television history, indeed the greatest moment in the history of YouTube, is Celine Dion’s "Take a Kayak."

YouTube, in some sort of Canadian-whackjob-protection strategy, keeps taking down the "Take a Kayak" video. You can watch it here, for now, until Dion’s goons take down that site. Watch it while you can, and record it for posterity.

In the interest of preserving the historical record in the face of the forces of darkness who would destroy it, following is a full transcript of Celine Dion’s "Take a Kayak.

I’m waking up in the morning, I’m having a coffee, I barely can swallow it. I come here, at Caesar’s Palace every night, to perform. I barely can sing. But for respect, for the people who come, I am still singing.

When I come home at night, my son is waiting for me. I watch television. Yes, we gave a million dollar. But what we expect, what I want to look, like the rest of the world, I open the television. There’s people still there, waiting to be rescued, and for me it’s not acceptable. I know there’s reasons for it. I’m sorry to say I’m being rude, but I don’t wanna hear those reasons. You know, some people are stealing and they’re making a big deal out of it. "Oh, they’re stealing twenty pair of jeans," or "they’re stealing television sets." Who cares? They’re not gonna go too far with it. Maybe those people are so poor, some of the people who do that, they’re so poor they’ve never touched anything in their lives. Let them touch those things for once!

The main thing right now, it’s not the people who are stealing, it’s the people who are left there, and they’re watching helicopsters flying over their heads, and they’re praying. How come it’s so easy to send planes in another country to kill everyone in a second, to destroy lives? We need to serve our country, and for me to serve our country is to be there right now to rescue the rest of the people. We need the cash, we need the blood, we need the support, right now we need the prayers. It is —you know, when I was hearing a couple of days ago that these things are not reachable, it’s too full of water. Maybe I’m too much like my — I’m not thinking with my head. I’m talking with my heart. Nobody can open any roofs. The helicopters flying in. Take two people at a time. Take a kayak! Go into those walls.

There’s kids being raped at night. We hear gunshots, big guns, what’s that? Those people are praying, they’re walking, they’re like this: "Hello? Do you see us? We’re still alive. But we’re dying!"

It’s terrible. I do not want to talk to you about money.

(Q on talking to her son about it)

Well, I have to say that Rene Charles, yeah, Rene Charles knows because he sometimes watches televisions with me and I’m saying to him, "Those people went through a big storm and they will be fine," because I know at the end they’ll be fine, and I hope and I’m — we’re all praying for them. I’m trying not to put to Rene Charles something so dramatic and that’s why I’m sorry for crying so hard because I’m holding it for the last week. And I’m trying to to tell my son that everything’s gonna be OK but I see those mothers over there, they’re like Cheese Whiz! You know, it’s awful.

(Q on donating a million dollars)

I understand it’s very important because eventually we will need that money. But it’s just very frustrating that Franco and Conscience West and me all bill one million dollar. This is one thing. In 3 months, in 6 months, they will need that money. Right now, they’re praying for water. So we need to send them the water. They don’t care about my check. So, it’s just frustrating because on our part of the world, we’re trying our best and we’re expecting those people — errrfffff!!!

—I’m sorry.

also what do they mean youtube keeps taking it down because Celine's people have it taken off? I just searched it on youtube and 72 searches came up. because in the article they said

Aw I don't like the word "spoiled". I am an only child and I have heard that my whole life! In reality, some parents are just so THRILLED that they can even have one child that they treasure that child more than anything. Like my mom and dad and Céline and René for example ( kinda similar situations). It took my parents 11 years to conceive me and they had to have fertility drugs, etc. Yes, I got lots of presents on birthdays and Christmas, but I was the only kid. If they had been fortunate enough to have another or even a couple more, I would not have gotten as many presents, it would have been split more evenly :). It is my personal opinion that EVERY child is "spoiled", or should be. Just not in a negative way. You just notice it more with only-children because well, they are the only ones! Being an only child allowed my parents to maybe do a little more for me because they didn't have to save the money and divvy it out across 2 or 3 children. it makes sense to me

I don't think RC is spoiled in a bad way. That word has such negative connotations. It can actually be a wonderful advantage to be an only child. I would have loved to have been able to have siblings, but I have plenty of friends, and hey, I turned out alright! I'm not needy or think things should be handed to me because of how I was raised. My parents were just lucky to have me, they could easily have given up and there would have been one less crazy Céline fan in the world!

RC will be fine, whether he has another sibling or not. I want Céline to have as many children as she wants! But if that isn't possible, then I think she realizes what a special child RC is and she really is lucky to have him. He's a good kid. Why not reward him with some things he wants? She can afford it! And she buys herself whatever she wants so it's not like they are going broke providing RC with whatever toys or gadgets he wants! He's her little Miracle, after all!

I've been wanting to say something about this topic also but couldn't figure out how to express myself correctly. :D But I'm with you on this one! Well I myself have 3 younger siblings (the eldest is only 2 years younger than me) so I have never been treated as an only child, but I have a godson who's almost 4 years old and he is his parents' only child. He was so anticipated by them, and by everyone else around him, with my sister we were always talking about how great it would be if our aunt (the mother of my godson) would get a baby some day. And when that day came, it was a miracle really! He is so loved by everyone around him and he gets a lot of toys, in Christmas he has to open his presents in two different days because he gets so much of them, cause everyone wants to give him all these presents and "spoil" him, but in a good way too in my opinion. He is the youngest in the family at the moment, it's been a long while that anyone has had any babies, and it probably will be another long while, so his being there is just so special for his parents and grandparents and to us other relatives. His parents would want to get another child too, but haven't succeeded, having to go through at least one miscarriage. I don't think it has to do with having siblings, whether you're gonna be fine or not in the future. I believe too that René-Charles will turn out just fine even if he wouldn't have too many friends of his own age. Of course friends are important, but the most important is that you do have people around you that love you! And I believe he sure has many!

So I don't think there's anything wrong in "spoiling" your kid, in a good way. Of course children also need to learn they can't have EVERYTHING in the world, but it doesn't mean they couldn't have a lot of toys or whatever.. :thumbsup2:

ugh I just think there is a point where the spoiling gets to be to much in my opinion...I was spoiled a child but I never got everything I wanted, I certainly don't have all the things RC has and I knew as a child I wouldn't get everything I wanted. I didn't have every toy in the world I wanted, and I didn't have hundreds and hundreds of toys. I had a few things I wanted, like really wanted mostly a lot of barbies and doll house things, I didn't have a bought doll house either, it was made for me as was the majority of the furniture. But will ENORMOUSLY hurt him in the future.

At his age, right now is when EVERYTHING sinks in to how he is going to handle himself in the future, how well he will be in social situations, how well he will be able to hand himself in school, in relationships, and down the road; picking a career for himself.

There's a fine line between trying to make your child happy, and have a good childhood -- between basically giving your child everything they want, to the point where they know of nothing else besides being handed to them everything they ask for.

I'm happy that Celine and Rene can give RC a better childhood and can afford nice things for him, especially in this economy (not like she needs to worry), but there's more to having a good childhood then getting everything you want.

I'm an only child to, and everyone is always like "Ohhh you're SO lucky, you probably are spoiled and get everything you want!" Not the caseeeee ahaha. My mom knew when to stop, so i was just happy with barbies and little 8 year old girl stuff.

but in a good way too in my opinion. He is the youngest in the family at the moment, it's been a long while that anyone has had any babies, and it probably will be another long while, so his being there is just so special for his parents and grandparents and to us other relatives.

But will ENORMOUSLY hurt him in the future.

:thumbsup2: I agree with what Emily said, I think RC is being set up for alot of dissapointment when he realizes later in life that he has no clue how to interact around other kids or what to do in social situations etc... being an only child isn't as great as everyone thinks, I have a best friend who is an only child and she is miserable.

I can honestly say I f****** HATE being an only child :)

I guess when it comes to Rene-Charles, we will have to wait and see .. but just saying again, i think we know how things might turn out, when he takes a different turn into the teen and adult years.

i don't mean to be rude or anything...but i really do not believe that we should even be analyzing whether RC is spoiled or not or analyzing the parenting skills of Celine and Rene... We really don't know that much about RC as Celine keeps him out of the media focus as much as she possibly can. I really do not think that we need to worry about his not being a generous person just because of the affluence and celebrity of his parents and their subsequent ability to provide him with a lot of material things. Celine is and always has been a very generous woman and i think we can trust that she is instilling these values into RC as he grows older. In addition, Celine has often said that the hundreds of gifts he gets are not even from her and Rene, so they are not necessarily spoiling him firsthand...

IDK...i really just don't like the way this conversation about RC is developing and i don't think we should be making such judgments about him, his future, and the parenting skills of Celine and Rene when we really do not know that much about their private lifestyle. And i believe that in addition to all of the material things, he gets plenty of love and attention from Celine and Rene. They are doing the best they can given their celebrity status... None of us knows what that lifestyle is like...

Im sorry if this offends anyone as that is not my intention, this is simply my opinion...

I agree! And not only do we not know how they live their lives, it has absolutely nothing to do with us...

Generous person?

That's not at all where i was going with when i said, that the amount of material things he receives might not be good for his future. I'm not saying he's going to be a rude know-it-all ..

I've been wondering about this for a while: Do you guys think Celine has phobias? But I'm not talking about her fear of losing everyone she loves, I mean like a phobia for spiders, snakes, needlles or something like that... Edited by Claudette

If Celine can strip in front of 40 people, I'm sure she has minimal phobias
