Yes, I believe she wasn't feeling well :(

Thanks for replying.

I though so. Celine never sounds that bad unless she's not feeling well. I hate it when she has to perform and she is not feeling well...

That was the first time Celine sang Taking Chances live and she was just very nervous. Her voice wandered every time they sent those jolts of fire from the stage and they just seemed to scare the bones out of her. I'm sure she was very disappointed after that performance, especially since the UK press has never been friendly to her. As time went by, she eventually got comfortable with the song. Best version was when she sang it at the Colosseum.

i think she also had a lot of sound problems, cos she keeps altering the sound thingy she has... but I do think that as the tour went on, she got better at singing TC :)

Which video is from the A New Day final night...sound check

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPDWYh46pTY

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jz56CAQE8Fs

both of these say final night, but it can't be...

what's the difference??? was one actually from 12/14 instead of 12/15?

yes, they are from different days.

the first one is the soundcheck of the very last "A new day"

and the second soundcheck was from Dec. 13. On that day the Nevada Commission on Tourism honored Celine at the annual Governor's Conference on Tourism in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace with the award "Entertainer of the New Millennium"

1. What song did 'Le Petit Chanter de Laval' sing in the Millennium Concert?

2. Did Celine sing 'The Power of Love' in this concert? I saw the name of the song's writers in the end credit of the concert. Or is it a mistake?

How accurate was the shoe thing from the Canadian TV movie? Did little Celine really use all her money from singing in the bar to buy herself lots of shoes?

Maybe I was wrong then :) Agreed, the way she sang it Colosseum I think was the nicest.

I know she bought a pair of shoes with her first paycheck - but i don't think much of that film was accurate!! :giggle: Rene should definitely do an official one. :thumbsup2:

in one of Celine's authorized books she said, that from her first salary she bought herself a pair of highheel sandals made of black enamelled leather.

by tha way: that movie wasn't authorized. I find this really disgraceful because either I do a movie about a person and do it "right" or I leave it. A real fan of Celine should give that movie so much attention. It's FULL of mistakes.

Oh yeah, I totally know most of the movie was wrong, but watching it makes me giggle.

I just wondered if there was any truth to that part of it.

maybe they used it in the show, but she didn't sing it... the setlist was;

  5. Acoustic medley:

    1. "Ce n'était qu'un rêve"
    2. "D'amour ou d'amitié"
    3. "Mon ami m'a quittée"
    4. "Une colombe"
    5. [*]"That's the Way It Is"

[*]"I'm Your Angel" (duet with Garou)

[*]"When I Fall in Love" (duet with Daniel Lavoie)

[*]"J'irai où tu iras" (duet with Luke Mervill)

[*]"Le blues du businessman" (duet with Bruno Pelletier)

      [*]"Regarde-moi"

      [*]"L'amour existe encore"

[*]"Summer of '69" (Bryan Adams solo)

[*]"It's Only Love" (duet with Bryan Adams)

[*]"When You're Gone" (duet with Bryan Adams)

[*]"(Everything I Do) I Do It for You" (duet with Bryan Adams)

[*]"Live (for the One I Love)"

      [*]"Des mots qui sonnent"

      [*]"Unison"

      [*]"Incognito"

      [*]"Love Can Move Mountains"

      [*]"Pour que tu m'aimes encore"

      [*]"S'il suffisait d'aimer"

      [*]"All by Myself"

      [*]"Ce n'était qu'un rêve"

LOL she was like 6 or 7 when she was singing in that bar, so I don't think shoes were really on her mind then! :P but I do remember an early interview (incognito/unison period) that she used or wanted to use her first money for either a horse or shoes!

Celine said that during the flight over to the UK her voice went - so she was really nervous having to sing live. That's why the rest of her performances in the UK during that week were mimed. By the time she got to Europe her voice was back. :D

Where did she say that? It's extremely un-Celine like to comment on the faults in her voice publicly and I don't remember anything like this mentioned before. I mean, we know something wasn't right as we could hear it but at the time we were guessing it was due to tiredness, sound issues, illness and the fact Celine commented on it was never brought up.

Am i the only one that remembers that then?? I'm sure around the time of An Audience With etc, and when she went on to Europe i read that Celine had said while she was on the plane coming from USA to the UK she lost her voice. Maybe i'm wrong - or remembering something else - but i hoestly think it was about x factor. Wish i could remember where i read it tho :hmm: It was somewhere on this forum - i think !

So she first went to the UK and then to the rest of Europe?

It definitele sounded like she had a sore throat or something. She sounded croaky on some parts... But I guess nerves also could have played a role. I also noticed that she kept fidgeting with her soundpack like Davey84 mentioned. So it could have been a combination of all those things... But the fact that Simon stood up followed by everyone else told me that there must have been something wrong and that they knew it... It was almost as if the judges were applauding her for giving her best under the circumstances and for handling the situation like a pro.

By the way, how do you know that she said that her voice went?

Oops! I see some other people asked the same thing before I got to post my comment.

Hmmm, probably just speculation from us lot or something like that. Celine doesn't talk about her poor performances really, I heard she said something about her performance of LBDB in Paris 2005 that was weak and she supposedly blamed it on all the travel she was doing at the time (again, not sure if this was speculation or rumours from the members here or whether she really said this).

She did say in her biography 2 hour special that her voice wasn't as technically good these days and I think this is the only time I remember that she has actually given an interview and made reference to the fact her voice these days is different, which I found really interesting and the quote has stuck with me since that day.

As i remember it i don't think she was commenting on her X Factor performance, but i think it was when she was in Europe after the UK performances when she said about travelling to England and her voice going during the flight. Didn't mention a particular performance. Maybe i'm wrong though - its hard to remember things from a year and half ago!!

I also remember that. I think she said something similar on the ''One Year One Heart'' DVD (or am I confused). I don't want to be funny but I think she is the only one that hears that she is ''not as technically good these days''. Sure she also has her ''off days'' like all of us. But she had those 20 years ago also. She still sounds pretty darn perfect to me and she would probably still sing circles around other singers. But I guess her perfect is different than ours...

She hasn't lost her power but her agility is going.

Isn't that because she doesn't rest her voice or train it as much as she used too? I think she sounds amazing still, and i don't know of another singer who has used their voice as intensely for as many years as she has. Its unbelievable she can still sing the way she does. Even Rene said that!!

Celine didn't loose her voice before or during that promo trip to London, nor was she nervous to sing ''TC'' live, totally the opposite actually!!Although that wasn't the original plan, and I can't go into detail regarding it, but it was the equipment that caused the issue duing the xfactor performance, not Celine...

Yes, please explain how the equipment can make every single high note sound terrible off key, and just downright bad. It doesn't make much sense to me.

erm I think it's the other way arround because of the equipment, the notes went off key, cos Céline couldn't hear the music good enough...

If anyone could point them out to me or send them to me I'd appreciate it! I need them because I dont have the cd FITY anymore, it was broken after it got left in my friends glove compartment. :wallbash:
