I love the chase, it's a neat show. Great way to keep her current. Sharon. I was reading this and wondering what song they were referring to also. So I get a duh, too! LOL I am not a Mariah fan but people are saying with her recent divorce that she should have canceled. Celine's hiatus is so sad still, but I guess it's turning out to be the right thing.

I know, I was like thinking, am I stupid or what,ha ha!! But that song is almost like rare, we haven't heard it much at all. My Celine, yes I do miss her, and she did do the right thing, by choosing to be with her family, there is no doubt about that. I think for myself, everyday she is away, it is a day closer to her coming back, whenever she decides to return. I can't be selfish, what Celine is going through, is a hell of a lot worse than what all her fans through out the world are going through, those that are ok. She will come back to us, singing is her passion. Love you Celine.

Someone on Facebook said on the Collosseum's Wikipedia page, it says she is no longer performing there. so that concerns me. I don't know if singing is her passion anymore, all she ever talks about are the kids so I don't know that. But I never thought of it that way, that every day is one day closer to her returning. And you know, because we've talked about this, that I really love the way you refer to/address her. :) Okay, so it sounds like the survey was not really a big surprise. I'm thinking that people who took it are just not like us, people. I really think a lot of casual fans who have only heard of the big hits/radio singles took part in it. I think they tried to ask us what we think, I'm just not sure too many die-hard fans got involved. I'm sorry people may be disappointed that we're going to hear the same things. It's better than not/never hearing from her again though.

You're right, us the real proper fans, know a lot more of her songs from way back. Those are the songs we are wanting most I think. I think she will come, it may be a long time, but she will be back. She adores singing way to much. As for them saying she is no longer performing there, they are right, cause she is NOT there at the moment. But she WILL be back. For me, I can't see that she has lost her passion, she stopped because Rene was very sick, and she was also quite sick. Rene has to get altogether better, and cancer can take a long long time to go away. We hope and pray that all is going well for them. But in my heart, I believe she will be back, it's just a matter of when.

I read an article today about how handwritten signatures are on the decline in the computer age, and about how one guy did an experiment where he signed credit card receipts with random drawings and other people's names, including Mariah Carey -- and they were all accepted. http://www.npr.org/2013/01/14/169233647/the-great-american-signature-fades-away

 

This totally makes me want to sign my next credit card receipt as Celine . . .

This totally makes me want to sign my next credit card receipt as Celine . . .

A friend of ours really did this, he signed his name "Peter Rabbit" on all his purchases for about 5 or 6 days and they went through :blink:

I've been thinking a lot about Celine lately and I really miss her. I've been watching interviews and performances but she's doing the right thing so it's all for the best :wub:

I miss her too :-( ....I didn't think i would miss her as much as I do. But I'm enjoying music from different artists right now.

Funny about the signatures. I don't think anyone has ever thought of this, but it's very hard to learn to sign one's name when you're b lind. We are taught it in school anyway, though. Most of the time I am told my signing is actually better than a doctor, which I actually laugh and take as quite the compliment. :) :laugh: Guys, we all have to eat this. I really want to impress on us all that just because we know in our head that this is the best/right thing, that does NOT make it any easier in our heart, <3 the place that misses her and wishes this was not happening. So be gentle with yourselves when you feel sad, etc. I hope this will pass and that the best is yet to come, really,I truly do!

I was looking again at the Celine&Rene wedding album from 7 Jours, with its pictures of the guests -- and realized that both Gwen Korovin and Aldo Giampolo were wedding guests. Who'd have known that we'd be talking about them 20 years later? But it is nice that Aldo really does go way back with them. . .

 

A young Marc Dupre was also a wedding guest, and he was in the picture with a girl who was not Anne-Marie. I wonder how Celine and Rene knew him back then, and how Anne-Marie met him.

I'm pretty sure Marc Dupre opened for Celine at her Olympia shows in Paris during the TCOML tour in 1994.

Yep. He used to do a comedy act, which included impressions (with one of Celine). But, he was probably always involved in music too. I am not sure what he did when he opened for Celine, but he was her opening act.

 

 

Edit: this information came from one of the Celine books, and Celine had commented on Marc as a comedian in one of her books.

Sorry to ask, but is Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail some kind of animated or funny characters? I've never heard of them. Like the names, very cute.

They are Beatrix Potter characters. Peter Rabbit's sisters in fact!
