I was just watching the UK top 40 and somehow AC/DC highway to hell is number 4. So if a song that old can manage to get to 4, with enough fan power could we get incredible into the top 40??

I wish I could actually hear you say all that. :wub: Irish accent

Awe I hate to ruin it for you , but iv been told by American border control that I have a Canadian accent and don't sound one bit Irish!! Lol

Sadly, I think the answer is no, as it took more than AC/DC fans to get it to chart so high, as it was an internet movement created by anti X-Factor followers to try to boycott Sam Bailey from reaching number 1. The first year these boycotts started it was really successful, as Rage Against The Machine blocked Joe McElderry from number 1 for a week, but fan-oriented campaigns have been far from successful. One that comes to mind was Spice Girls fans trying to get "Stop" to number one (as it originally peaked at 2) but it was light years away from successful.

Her band doesn't get enough credit! They've only been together for a bazillion years!! I think they keep their egos in check really well. Just a thought :)

True that. Celine and her band also go together like peanut butter and jelly too. She compliments them and they compliment her(most of the time).

Just want to wish everyone on the forum a Happy Christmas from Ireland!

That isn't what was said lol. They said "Serious as a heart attack Celine's husband once suffered" ..which is true, he did have a heart attack many years ago.

"Serious as a heart attack" is just an American expression :)

It's a mix , I have no idea where I got it from , I only spent 2 weeks in Canada , but iv always been told i don't sound Irish.

While in Paris for the mini tour everyone was like where in the US or Canada are you from!

There are many accents I enjoy, some not so much. I spent a lot of summers in minnesota, ya you betcha. :-D I really enjoy Virginian/Louisianna/Georgia accents. Oklahoma, not so much. no offense ya'll ;) However, some of the prettiest accents are from Houston... B) These are all from the states of couse.

Yes yes yes, everything is fabulous in Vegas for her and its given her family balance. But tell that to radios and Sony Music, and you'll find the answer why LMBTL is not played today in radios almost anywhere in the world. And why nobody except the hardcore fans realize that she is still an active singer today with a new album just released. Go and tell that Vegas speech to radio DJ's around the world too, and why they refuse to play her music.

 

Vegas may have give her her most wished family balance, and also great success (only in Vegas), but it has also killed the international career and status she had before entering that place in 2003. Little by little ;)

 

I so agree with you. And now she goes vegas again. Glad some of us, including me, had the chance to see Celine outside vegas giving some fantastic shows. Who knows how long it takes this time before touring again..

If she wants to return there, that's okay, now she has a home there, but the worst thing of it is that exactly when Céline returns to her Vegas shows, Sony Music finishes the promotion of her albums. It goes always like that since 2003. That's the "great" things that Vegas has brought to her international recording career as an artist :(

Watching the muppets Christmas special and I can't help but think that Celine would have been a better choice for it.

Gaga was good but she doesn't exactly have the family appeal.

It would have been amazing promo for the album too as it seems to be aired in different countries!

I'm expecting a mini tour in UK next year, it might won't be that long before she tours again..!

Céline did also a videoclip for "Eyes On Me" with spanish bullfighter Matías Tejela, and shots from this video were to be used on the screens during the TCWT. However, due to complaints from animal rights and against bullfighting and matadores, they cancelled the use of the video and the footage was never released :down:
