So, I have an question for everyone here. I was at the store today looking for magazines and I found the magazine Délires and they had three pages where they were ''caricaturing'' Céline. They even made a mean cartoon of her and her family (yes, even the twins) and they were saying that René drives a Hummer that works with shale gas, Céline pretends to care for the enviroment but doesn't really, she doesn't change her kids ''cloth'' diapers because she finds it disgusting, she eats at McDonalds and a whole bunch of stuff like that. I don't know where they got that? I was wondering why that did that, what is her position towards the enviroment for them to do something like that. It just doesn't seem to be an aspect of her that we hear about....

Saw programme last night with Guy Chambers and Rufus Wainwright - how to write a ballad. Celine was mentioned with the "power ballad" section. Rufus described her as "horrendous" if i remember correctly.! And he's Canadian!!

How can she not? I do. It seems I take them more personally for her than she does. It makes me sick. How does she handle this? It does seem to come in waves..and waves..and waves...but you know, we're a bigger wave than anything those idiots can say about her. We do more than say things to her, we do what we can to show it. That means everything and I hope we're louder than those jerks. There sure are more of us, hopefully! We just have to keep at it until she realizes we love her and aren't going anywhere. They won't either but we are there with/for her at every turn whatever they do. we're there, so are they, but they'll get sick of no response after a while. She responds to us, and we to her, so she'll still be here and so will we!

I don't know if this has been said, but the other day listening Kanye West Dark Fantasy and reading the lyrics, (I'm from Spain and I don't understand a thing only listening, rap, hip-hop... fast english sing in general..hehe) so I discovered there is a phrase were West says. " ook like a fat booty Celine Dion Sex is on fire, I'm the king of Leona Lewis Beyond the truest Hey, teacher, teacher, tell me how do you respond to students" So I don't know, I guess this is bad, good ?; there is any special relation; I feel strange Celine to be mentioned in a Hip Hop song. And more stranger is to have Celine, Kings of Leon and Leona Lewisin the same phrase..hahaha. Someone knows something about this?

 

Maybe it's stupid but I don't know, I'm curious. Sorry if this topic has been created before or it doesn't fit in here.

Christina, you shouldn't take things so seriously. There was a time when I would also get ferious at people saying bad things about Céline. But the truth is it is something that is out of our controlle. I always tell myself that somebody that does not like Céline will not take the time to make fun of her. Those people all love Céline, they just have not built up the courage to share it with the world. Instead, they express themselves by making fun of her. Céline knows this too that is why it does not bother her. You should feel sorry for these people and not Céline.

Claudette, you have a point I guess. I can't help the way I feel it still upsets me. Yet it does seem she doesn't get affected by it. Your theroy sounds quite accurate/right/true, and it does make me feel sorry for them. I used to be someone who didn't have the courage to say the things I do, but that's changed because I'm here. They should have that privelege, and I'm sad they're not here and can't express how they love her. Thanks for pointing that all out to me, sorry I do take things so seriously.

Wow. That's really wise and true Claudette. You're so right! That just changed the way I looked at that now, you have no idea! So, that makes me think that the guys at school who are always making fun of Céline really, in the end, like her. Wow. Yeah, it really has. While I've heard all her English songs, there are many I've only heard once or twice and while I didn't like them the first time, I really liked them when I got to them on my listen of the albums....one example is "If You Could See Me Now" ...the first time I heard it I didn't care for it at all, but now it's practicually on repeat!

I have plenty of kind things to say about Celine. Sure, I enjoy talking about the bad things (because every single person talking about the good over and over gets boring)....but that doesn't make me any less of a fan. I see flaws, I point them out, I accept them. Celine is human, which means that like all of us, there are flaws. Nothing wrong with that at all, and I still love her. I've had plenty of songs on repeat in the past, and I've always had a good knowledge of her music.
