OK, if anybody knows this one, is"n her parents tall/ sisters tall as well.So it must run in the family.

 

Well in the DVD "Sur Les Plaines" celine does a number with all her brothers and sisters. Celine and her sisters are all in heels, but celine is definitely taller than all of them. hope this helps!

OKAY, so i think she puts flats on at the end of some shows.. because in the video of her hugging me, it looks like she barely taller than me.. and i'm 5'2" maybe 5'3" on a good day.. and I was wearing heels.. so.. I would put her at 5'5" when she hugged me at the end of the show.. BUT in my meet and greet photo.. shes a good few inches taller than me and I was wearing the same shoes... hmmm.

 

okay, all the height talk is crazy. Celine, just tell us: how tall are you? =) =)

 

That is what I don't understand, Celine looks taller in photos. Does Celine try to look taller in photos or something? :laugh:

WHAT? Celine is the tallest one in her family. All of her brothers,sisters and her parents must be VERY short because Celine is MUCH taller than all of them. Celine is SO MUCH taller than her mother! She is like 6 or 7 inches taller than her mother! :laugh:

LOL this is getting so funny. How many ways are there to make yourself look taller or shorter? Other than shoes...or maybe hair like Marge Simpson's.

But if you think about it...most official-sounding sources say she's 5'7", and most people on here think she could be about 5'5"- but 2 inches is not a lot of difference at all. I doubt most people could walk up to a stranger in the street and guess exactly how many inches tall someone is. So I think I'm just gonna believe she's 5'7" unless otherwise stated by Celine :)

Oh and if I remember right, Jenna Glatzer said, when she was writing For Keeps, that she (Jenna) is 5'4", and Celine was a lot taller than her even without wearing heels.

well we'd probably have to DRive all night to get to her. but why don't we just walk right up to her and ask. My heart will no longer be going on and on if we did that. At last i would have met celine dion

Exactly, that's what I'll do too (and that's what I've been doing until now), "I'm just going to believe Céline is 5'7'' (or 5'6'') unless otherwise stated by Céline", that's a good statement. :)

 

And exactly for the other point too, 2 inches is not a lot. Usually if you stand next to someone, she (or he) may not seem that much taller than you, but she might be exactly those 2 inches taller, it's difficult to really estimate a person's height for sure if you're standing next to them. For example, I always feel that my aunt is pretty much the same height that I, when I'm next to her, though she is 5'6'' and I'm only about 5'3''. :P

 

Oh and about the discussion about her family, at least her father was very tall! And I think her brothers are as well..

I know, I think that Celine has even said herself that she is 5'7. Not only that, people on here are saying that she is only 5'3. I just don't understand it. I have seen Celine with 5'4 Shania Twain(I don't know how to spell her name) and Celine looks MUCH taller than Shania Twain.

yeah René is like 5'10" or more and when she has her highest heels on she meets him in height so she has to be at least 5'7" like she says..makes sense to me

That sounds about right to me. I'm only 5' and when i met her i came up to her kneecap!!! :laugh: :sofunny:

Impossible! the more she could have and is going to have would be 3. She talked about it in this Michel Jasmin interview while she was pregnant with RC. She had to make that choice for RC and to make a long story short she finally asked the doctors how many her body could hold and have a good chances to bring them to terms in an healthy way. They told her that they preferred she had only one but that her body can hold 3. So Céline choose to have 3 embryos implanted. Sorry if my english isn't that great here, I'm not quite sure how to translate in english what I want to tell you here. Anyway I think you will get most of it...I hope! :giggle:

 

Céline talked about all that and also the fact that she had to prepare for the implants of embryos for some months before, giving herself shots to boost her body. At the time she had 22 eggs in her that the doctors removed and 14 :wink1: were good to work with, if I may say it like this. She says it made her belly a little bigger :wink: but it didn't hurt or anything. Anyway when you want it so much you don't care about those inconfort she said.

 

For those who understand french you can listen to all of Céline's explanations in those Michel Jasmin interviews (part 6 and in part 7). She explains all the process she went through. I found it pretty interesting. :)

It was their personal choice and she's not judging other woman who chooses otherwise she said.

Am I understanding this right? They make embryos, and then put them into her...but if they had put too many in, they would have had to take them back out again?

 

And if there were 14, what happened to the other 11 that weren't put in Celine?

No the way I understood it(and I could be mistaken) is that her body produced 22 eggs and 14 could be good for fertilization with René's sperm. Céline chose to put 3 and as you know there is one frozen in NY waiting for her. I couldn't tell you exactly how it works precisely. Those things aren't very easy to understand and I'm surely not an expert to explain it. But I guess if they had put many in (like 10 for example which increases the percentage of chances of getting pregnant) and she gets pregnant because those 10 all worked then they have to bring some out. Anyway that part is not very clear to me I must say...but apparently Céline didn't feel comfotable with that part even though she decreases her chances of getting pregnant and chose to put only as many as she could bring to term if those three worked out for her.

 

And if there were 14, what happened to the other 11 that weren't put in Celine?

 

I guess those 11 eggs didn't get fertilized but I don't really know to be honest.

I listened to parts of the interview again and apparently the 11 others didn't work being too weak except for one which is five days and is frozen in NY as you know. And Céline said she would go at one point and get the baby's hand for sure and go for it. She'll go for it even though it's not sure it's going to work of course.

And here we are weeks from that wonderful moment for our Céline. Hope it works for her. How wonderful would it be? :wub: :wub:

Hey people,

 

I remember reading a quote from a book/magazine/website, but I cannot seem to remember where I did actually read it. Could someone help me out, please?

 

The quote goes something like this: "... a part of the Holy Trinity of Canadian contemporary music, along with Alanis Morisette and Shania Twain". I'm 80% sure it was from Celine Dion: A New Day Dawns but I haven't been able to come across the exact quote since first reading it.

Good question! I wondered that when I watched the recording session too...

 

I have an observation/question : Celine always holds her microphone in her left hand even though she is right handed....I wonder if this is one of her superstitions or just that she prefers to hold it in her left hand ? :hmm:

I've also notice that she always holds her microphone in her left hand. And another observation: When she sings a duet, she always stands on the right-hand side of the other person. :hmm:
