Will Céline ever return to Eurovision Song Contest?

I don’t know… I have a feeling she’s deliberately distanced herself from Eurovision ever since she’s had bigger achievements to her name. Sure, she won’t deny it and can’t erase it but I think the only part that she truly cherishes about the whole experience is what it meant for her relationship with René. The memories of that first “kiss” undoubtedly overshadow anything else that happened on that night of 30 April 1988 or the period surrounding it. And you know Eurovision isn’t universally acclaimed in Europe, certainly not these days.

Was she invited before in Eurovision? Of course except the 80s era. Because this is my first time seeing Eurovision inviting her

She’s just always been busy doing shows when this has taken place but she should find time for it hopefully next year

If she’s well enough, and happy enough to travel there… it’s about history, memories, marking it, giving back, celebrating it, showing artists this year just how far they can go thanks to the contest and what she has done and ultimately pleasing global Céline fans in the process

It's also great exposure and the moment to drop a new album and vegas dates.

Maybe that's why everything is taking so long.

And maybe it's just a lipped performance and another silence for 6 months. Who knows.

It's a little bit more symbolic now because it's in Switzerland, which she won for.

 

Also, I don't understand this "distancing" thing. Didn't Celine record at least two messages for contestants from France to support them or am I misremembering?

 

She also mentioned Eurovision in several of her interviews.

 

I just don't understand what people believe her attachment should have been. She's not a small local star like Serduchka, Mans or Rybak who always come back to Eurovision because they are otherwise irrelevant.

 

Moreover, Celine is not even European, so she's not attached to it in any way.

I think a little medley would be great.

 

Starting with her Eurovision song, moving into IACBTMN, MHWGO and ending on an uptempo like RDMH for example with a quick costume change and dancers.

 

Showing how she’s grown throughout her career, as she already performed TPOL & IA in the Middle East.

 

Just an idea.

If she does appear at the ESC, she really must perform live- she at some point needs to show she can still do it and while just seeing her on stage has been wonderful and she’s looked so happy and healthy, if there is to be any future in performing in Vegas or anywhere else, we have to know she can still sing. Because she’s a singer.
